Brody's POV

I close my locker and quickly hurry outside to try and find Danielle. I know she had last hour with Juliet and I really needed to talk to her about something. Well, not really talk to her about anything, I just wanted to see if I could hang out with her.

The guys are going back to the pack to do some of their duties, but I don't know what the girls are up to. And I hoped I could catch Danielle before she was snatched up by the girls.

Unfortunately, it looks like I might be too late. A few car lengths ahead of me, I could see Juliet had squealed and ran up to Danielle. Not only could I see it, but I could hear Juliet's scream from a mile away I swear it.

"Dammit," I mutter.

I hear her say hi to Juliet, then hearing her laugh. Oh how much I love her laugh.

Thankfully, she says she can't hang out with the girls today since she had to help her grandparents. Which in turn makes me smile. So I still had a chance. Maybe she would cave and let me help her. I totally don't mind. I like old people.

Especially these old people.

Danielle starts making her escape after saying goodbye to Juliet. I hurry up behind her so that I can catch her. "Danielle!"

She stops in her tracks and turns around to look at me. "Brody, hey," she chimes.

Crap. Her eyes are so enticingly beautiful that I almost forgot what I wanted to say.

"Hey," I give a small wave. I then gesture with my thumb behind me. "Do you want a ride home?"

Her blonde curls bounce a little bit as she shakes her head. "No, that's okay. I don't mind taking the bus. I wouldn't want you to go out of your way."

"Danielle, really I don't mind," I chuckle a little bit.

It's only then when I see that she starts to get nervous. But now I know why she would be. I'm just curious on why she lied and didn't tell the truth.

"Brody-"

"Let me stop you right there," I chuckle again. I hold my backpack over one shoulder and stuff the other in my front jean pocket. "I don't mean to be a stickler or anything like that. But if you're worried about where you're staying, I know it's a lie."

I see her eyes widen slightly, almost like she was taken back by my accusation.

My father mentioned to me that we had a guest staying at the Vega's place on the outskirts of the territory. But I had no idea that it was Danielle's grandparents. Her mother, as I learned from father, went to live in her husband's pack.

Thus they then had Danielle and her siblings. I don't know if any of them besides Danielle are humans, but now it all makes sense on why she was shady on a couple of things. Her parents are both wolves, and she probably feels like an outsider being one of the, if not the only human.

I get why she's lied about a few of those things, but she could have just been honest with me. I wouldn't judge her because she's a human. No way in hell. I'd never judge her for something like that.

"I know that you live with your grandparents inside the Star pack territory. You don't have to be ashamed of that," I chuckle. "Just because your family members are wolves and you aren't isn't anything to be ashamed of."

Danielle seemed to have at least relaxed a little bit. But she was still holding her hands together like she was nervous. And I truly didn't mean to make her feel that way, so in that aspect I do feel kind of bad. I was a little harsh.

"I'm sorry for lying," she whispers. "I just didn't know what you would think if I told you that I lived there."

"I'd think nothing of it," I responded with a small smile. I can tell that it eased her worries a little bit, seeing that her facial expressions softened. "So, will you let me give you a ride, please?"

She huffs a little bit and then smiles at me, "Okay. Fine. If it will get you to stop practically begging."

"Begging?" I snort and give her a big grin. I start walking towards my car, with her following behind me. "I didn't know that's considered begging."

"Well," she shrugs, "I don't blame you. I know my superior looks are one to beg for."

I can't help but want to agree with her, though I don't verbally say it out loud.

Her long blonde hair is absolutely stunning, some small waves in it making it practical glisten. Her freckled cheeks were obvious in the sunlight, even against her light tanned skin, and her eyes. Oh her blue eyes were to die for. They weren't dark like an ocean blue, nor were they bright like a baby blue. They were like a sparkling sapphire, deep and captivating. Like you wanted to keep looking at them and had to force yourself to stop.

Unfortunately, I was constantly forcing myself to stop looking into her eyes. Even though that's the last thing I wanted to do. Her eyes were gorgeous, and they just kept pulling me in.

"Yes, they are," I admit lightly, though a hint of a tease in my voice to try not to scare her away.

Thankfully it doesn't, and she lets out a soft chuckle while she rounds to the other side of my car.

I unlock it and we both get in, her admiring it as she puts her bag on the floor in front of her. She was admiring it as she walked up to it, looking like she wanted to say something. But she was way too shocked to even speak.

"Your car is beautiful," she gasps as her hands trace over the dashboard of my challenger. She hadn't seen the inside of it before, she got a quick glance one day after school but that was it.

"Thank you," I smile. I don't know why hearing her compliment my car made me so happy, but it did. It so did.

"Do you have a V-six?" She whispers, still just looking around my car in awe.

I blink at her shockingly. Most girls don't know about that kind of stuff, about cars and stuff. But I'm not going to totally freak out since I know there are girls that obviously do. I'm not going to be rude and act like she can't have a hobby.

"Um," I shake my head and start up the car to clear my initial shock. "No, V8 actually."

"Seriously?" She gasps and grins over at me. "Six point four, 485 horsepower?"
