I glance nervously at myself in the mirror. I was definitely not ready to go to this gala. I mean, I was ready, but I wasn't ready as in prepared. There are going to be a ton of different alpha's there. Along with their Luna's and Beta's.
But I know it'll be good for Brody to go. And I know he'll only go if I go with him. Which I don't necessarily see as a bad thing, considering everything that's happened. He's just concerned and doesn't want to leave me when there are still people out there.
Which I completely understand. Especially after what happened right in the pack under our noses. Now I'm nervous about something completely different. Not only is my fear in the back of my mind about something happening to me. But now, it's on what's going to happen at the gala. I'm not concerned that anything bad will happen to me physically.
I know that Brody more than likely isn't going to leave my side all night. I'm just worried that some alpha is going to say something or figure something out. I know that alpha's aren't stupid. I'm just hoping that these ones are clueless to everything going on."I'm done! What do you think?"
I'm brought out of my thinking by hearing Rosie's voice. I don't really dress nice or wear makeup all that much, so I begged her and Juliet to help me. Thankfully I didn't really have to beg. I just asked and they said yes.I wanted Allie to be here too, but she was unfortunately out on patrol right now. Brody offered to switch her out but she was being all high and mighty and said she had a duty to do and she wouldn't abandon it. So selfless of her. Though she did wish me luck and demand pictures, and by demand I mean she threatened me. So, she's getting pictures.
So I had been in Rosie and Andrew's room for the past few hours. Not just because of makeup, they wanted to do my hair as well. And they let me try on a few of their dresses considering that I don't have anything fancy like one to wear to a gala myself.I glanced up at the mirror nervously, afraid to see some dark makeup look and I wouldn't even recognize my face. But to my surprise, it was a very light look. And I actually liked it.
My lashes had a little bit of mascara on them, which I knew based off what they did. I knew that much at least. I had slightly blush on my cheeks. And I mean very slightly that it didn't look like anything. My lipstick was a light shade of red, and the foundation covering my face was incredible. It made my face fuller and more prominent.
I hate to say it, but I actually liked it.
"Wow," I whisper as I run my hair over my shoulders. I had them kept back so it wouldn't get in the way of my makeup. But as I pulled my blonde curls over my shoulders, I was so happy with how I looked. I loved it.
"Yeah, wow, you smokin babe," Rosie smiles and claps excitedly. "Brody is going to drool when he sees you."
I can't help but giggle, which also makes Juliet smile. She goes over to the three dresses that were laying over Rosie and Andrew's bed and tilts her head from side to side. We were having problems with deciding earlier.
So we decided to go with the makeup look first, which you don't normally do. But my look could've gone with all three dressers. There was one that was red, which I immediately vetoed since I just didn't think it was my style. It was long but slim, I don't like those kinds of dresses.
I like either ball gowns or dresses that are a little more flowy. I think it suits me better.
So now we were stuck between a black ball gown dress or this dark green one that was more flowy. The black dress was bigger, since it was a ball gown, and it was strapless, and very smooth. Very elegant for a gala.
But I preferred the green one. It was gorgeous. The fabric was satin, it had small spaghetti straps and cut down into a small V. But the fabric leading down to the V was a little bit of lace. The dress flowed nicely because of the material and there was a slight slit in the left leg. Plus, it has pockets.
Easy win.
Though I didn't want to say which one I preferred. Growing up and going to balls and galas, I never got to pick the dresses I wanted to wear. Mother always picked them out for me. So I figured it was best to let them decide.
"Hm, I like the green one, which do you like, Dani?" Juliet turns to me.
I jump a little bit and glance up at her. I tried to hide how shocked I was, but she saw right through me.
"Don't be so surprised," Juliet smiles. "This is your dress. You get to wear whatever one you want. We're just trying to help. You make the ultimate choice."
I can't help the slight blush on my cheeks as I stand up. "I'm sorry. Mother rarely let me put my opinion on the dress let alone actually be able to choose it."
"That's alright," Juliet says. "Which one do you like?"
"The green," I quickly state.
Juliet smiles warmly at me. "Green it is. Rosie! Go tell Brody she'll be down in a few minutes."
Rosie gives us a mock salute and nods her head. "Ma'am, yes ma'am." She then turns and heads down the stairs, making me and Juliet laugh.
