"Darling," Brody huffs out. "Do you have the report on the upcoming trainees?"
I furrow my eyes from my seated position on the couch in his office. He was behind his desk looking through a bunch of files and reports, to which he obviously needed the one that I worked with.
"Um," I huff and give a small shake of my head. "I wasn't the one that filled it out. I think it was Beckett that was supposed to write it this week. Do you not have it?"
"Hm," Brody hums as he looks through some of the files that he had in front of him. His eyes scour over a bunch of them before his eyes settle back on mine. "No, love, I don't have it. I've got the one from the nineteenth, but not from the twenty-six, for today. I'll tell him to bring it to me though, it's no big deal."
"No," I huff and stand up. I gently stretch my legs out as I take a few steps towards his desk. "It's alright. I can go to the gym and get it. I left my gloves in there anyway, so it'll be an excuse to go and get them."
Brody glances up at me, an eyebrow raised a little bit. "Are you sure? I can just ask Beckett if he's there and grab those too."
I gently give him an eye roll and put my hands on my hips. "Brody, stop being ridiculous. It's not that far of a walk. I can go and get the report for you. That's my job, right? As your Luna? Be there when you need something?"
"Yes," Brody chuckles softly as he reaches out to grab onto my hips. His fingers dig into my sides softly and he lightly massages my side with his thumbs. "But, it's not a job. This is a partnership, you and me. I'm there for you and you're there for me."
"So I'm there for you!" I chime happily. "Don't bother Beckett or anyone else with this. They might be busy or doing something else right now. Plus they might feel guilty if they forgot it and think you'll be angry with them."
"For forgetting a report?" Brody chuckles. "I'm not that stingy."
"No," I gently shake my head, "but they love and respect you. So they might be hard on themselves for it. It's fine, I can go and get it. I'll be back in ten minutes tops."
"Alright," Brody chuckles. "You're so adamant about it, how can I get angry? Hurry back so we can leave and go get food." I nod and start walking towards the door while he calls out, "What do you want for dinner?"
"Um," I huff as I stand in the doorway. "What about hotdish?"
"Tater tot?"
"You know me so well."
"All a part of being in love with you, my dear," Brody smiles innocently at me.
I giggle a little bit and nod as I exit the room. "Be back in a few!"
I turn and start walking through the brightly lit hall to go down to the main hallway, a slight spring in my step as I go.
I was trying my best to be happy right now despite all the scary crap that's going on. Life was good with Brody, life was good with the pack, all of it was great. I just didn't like what was coming right now.
We've all been diligent here ever since my brother called me a few days ago. Brody has had more people on patrol, he's had training regimens up a notch, and he's had a tighter sort of hold or curfew sort of thing on other members of the pack.
I know he's doing his best to keep his pack safe, but they've got to be questioning the changes in more security. I know I would be. But maybe Brody already sent like a pack link to not worry about it or that he just wanted to upgrade security because of the recent attacks.
Which in all honesty made perfect sense. I just hope that it all works out. At least until we can get these guys down.
I know that Brody had been having late night meetings with his men and calling in favors from other packs to try and track these guys down and put them down for good. I haven't heard much about it though. I haven't really talked to Brody about it.
We've both been busy so when we spend time together, we hardly mention work. Sure I talk about how training is going and he'll mention some stuff he did. But he doesn't go into specifics unless it's really important.
So I'm assuming once they come to a conclusion about what they're going to do he'll tell me. Which I don't mind. It is his pack after all.
As soon as I get outside, I can't help but shiver a little bit. I know I'm a werewolf and I don't get cold as easily as humans do, but it is a little bit chilly out. So I jog practically the whole way to the gym and easily cut my time by five minutes from when I walk.
I quickly open the main doors to the gym and let out a small shiver from the warm air that hits my cold body. It honestly was stupid of me to only be wearing a long sleeve shirt. But I didn't plan on going out in the cold.
"Luna, pleasure to see you again, ma'am," Darian, one of the trainers bows as I walk past where he and a few people were working.
"You too, Darian, keep up the good work!"
"Thank you, ma'am!"
I smile and head on my way towards the middleish of the giant gym. That's where some of the offices were. I really hoped that Beckett was here since he's the one that most likely has the report that Brody needed.
Thankfully, when I rounded the corner to look in his office, I see him sitting at his desk. "Beckett!" I say with a smile when I see him going through a few different files spread across his desk.
