Danielle POV
Brody and I were walking into the mini golf place he invited me to, and I was nervous to say the least. I felt bad since he asked to hangout yesterday and we couldn't, so I texted him and asked if he was busy today. He made sure to get my number after we got back to everyone at the concert, in case I needed him or something like that.
So I texted him and asked if he was busy, to which he replied that he could be ready to get me in an hour. And now here we are.
Thankfully the town had an indoor place because I didn't know what else I wanted to do. We could have gone ice skating or something like that, but I really wasn't feeling the cold right now. I was still waiting on some better winter clothes from my grandparents from their shopping spree today.
I didn't really know what to expect. I don't get why he wanted to hang out with me by himself, but I really, really just wanted to see why this is happening. See what's going on on his end and figure out why I feel this pull towards him.
I need to know what's going on, and I need to know now. Because it's honestly driving me crazy.
I told my warrior group where I was going and I knew they followed behind us. I saw a few of their cars, a few of them turned off a couple of streets sooner, a few went by a few more. Just to give them some better cover so Brody wouldn't know what was happening.
I actually already saw a few of them inside as we got into the place. I'm just confused about how they got here before us. I never said where we were going. I guess that's why they're my warriors, they know what they're doing.
We paid for our eighteen holes, correction, I didn't. Brody wouldn't let me pay. So he paid for our eighteen holes and we got some putters. We got little matching sets. Mine were both obviously blue, and his were red.
"You like blue?" Brody asks as we walk over to the first hole.
"I do," I smile softly at him. "You like red?"
"It's one of my many favorites, yes," Brody smiles back at me.
Oh god, my heart just fluttered. Oh no, no, no. Look away from him. Look away.
I can feel my cheeks blush a little bit and I force myself to look away from his gorgeous brown eyes. Or else I might end up staring a lot longer and making a fool out of myself.
The first hole went pretty well, I ended up with par, while Brody got a birdie. I'm assuming that's how most of the holes are going to go.
I go up to the second hole, t-ing off and watching the ball as it rolls down a straight shot, to get it over a small hill. The only problem was the hill had this sort of rotating plank above it so you had to time it right. Luckily I gave it enough oomph and it went right over, straight through the plank.
I smile brightly over at Brody, who had his arms crossed and was staring at the plank. "I hate that thing," he grumbles.
"See if you got what it takes," I cross my arms back at him, giving him a sort of mocking look.
He raises an eyebrow and smiles a little bit before he turns to set his ball on the ground.
Thank god he did that, because my cheeks flushed again so hard that I would have looked away if he hadn't. One look from him, one smile, one measly little gaze is all it takes for me to blush like an idiot.
I hate myself.
He sets his red ball down and gets himself in a stance. He brings his putter back and hits the ball, hitting the barricade next to where the opening was.
I try my hardest to stifle a giggle, which he obviously hears. He sends a fake glare my way, which makes me laugh and hold my hands up in defense.
"Why you little," he grumbles. The ball rolled back to about a good ten feet from where he started, so he takes a step up and aims again to get his timing down. He brings his putter back again and hits the ball.
This time it was stopped by the plank.
Brody groans while I keep laughing. "You made it look so easy!" He exclaims.
"Just get your timing right!" I try my best at giving advice. "Just watch the wooden board and as it goes up to the top swing so it'll go through the hole."
"Help me out?" Brody asks.
I obviously say yes, "Get into your stance and I'll tell you when to hit it."
He nods and gets into his stance, I almost forget what I'm supposed to be doing since I stare at his muscles practically bulging out of his t-shirt.
Okay, not so much like a weight-lifting type of person. But I could tell that he had muscles, if that made any sense whatsoever.
I quickly shift my gaze back to the board, waiting a few seconds before I say, "Now!"
He quickly hits the ball and we both watch as it goes through the hole, rolling down the hill on the other side.
"Sweet," he smiles at me. "Thank you."
"You are very welcome," I smile back. I quickly hurry to walk to the other side of the hill and scan for our balls. I spot his easily near a curve, but I don't see mine anywhere.
"Where's yours?" Brody asks as he comes up next to me.
"I don't know," I murmur. I thought it may have gone out of bounds and looked around in those locations, but a few seconds go by of me searching when I hear Brody's excited voice.
"Hey! Dani! Look! It's in the hole!"
I'll have to admit, I had to pause myself for a second when he called me Dani. I love when he says my name, it sounds great rolling off of his tongue. But hearing him just say Dani made my heart swoon even more.
I clear my mind and glance over at him. "What?" I furrow my eyes and make my way over to him. He's pointing happily down at the hole that was a good twenty feet away from where I was looking near his ball. And upon getting over to him, I see that he was right, my blue ball was sitting in the little cup.
"How is that possible?" I whisper and look up at him in shock.
Brody shrugs innocently, a smile still on his face. "You must have hit it so hard that it went around the curve and all the way down here. Nice job!"
"Wow," I whisper, "a hole in one." I smile at him and put my putter over my shoulder. "Beat that, Mr. Castellano."
I swear I saw Brody gulp, or clench his jaw or something. He suddenly got a little stiff as he eyed me. Almost like he was analyzing me.
I was about to ask what was up, before he gave me a very small smile. He turns and goes over to his ball to continue the round and I can't help but wonder why he looked at me like that. Though I'd never find out with him.
We went on for a couple of holes, bantering back and forth and talking about random stuff before he got into some bigger things. Meaning like family and stuff aside from favorite colors and stuff about school.
"Do you remember when Juliet asked you about your family when bowling?" Brody asks sort of randomly.
