Brody and I got up around ten o'clock the next morning. I wanted to delay the time that I had to leave as much as possible. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, I heard my mother and brothers arguing with father in his study. I could hear what they were saying, but I tuned it out. I really just didn't want to deal with any of them for the time being.

I had my bag packed up that I brought with me before. After the fight, some of my dad's warriors ended up going to the spot where Brody and Andrew fought off the wolves and found all of our bags.

Brody didn't come with one at all so he didn't have anything to bring back with him. He'd just been borrowing Theo's things for the most part. Thankfully he didn't mind. He actually yelled at me when I tried to apologize for Brody using his things.

I went to grab my bag, but Brody quickly pushed my hand away, grabbing the bag and throwing it over his shoulder. Stupid nice boyfriend.

I send him a glare, with him giving me an innocent smile as I turn to leave my room. We walk hand in hand towards the packhouse, knowing that my family was going to want to say goodbye to me.

As we get to the back of the house, an idea sparks in me. We had decided to go through the pack house inside since it was warmer, a lot less snow that we would have to trudge through.

We're supposed to go straight down the corridor to go to the maternity ward to see Athena, but I had a different plan first. Father interrupted me yesterday when I wanted to show my true form to Brody. And this was probably the only way that I can show him.

I quickly turn to the right and pull him with me. I hear him grunt a little at the sudden change of direction, then hear his quickened footsteps to catch up with me.

"Uh, Dani? Where are we going? Isn't the maternity ward back that way?"

"Yeah," I mutter. "But before we leave, I want to show you something."

He doesn't ask anymore questions as we move down the hallway towards the gym. I can tell he realized where we were going after we took a right to go towards pt and the indoor tracks. His hand tightened a little bit in mine.

We turn into the track, and then go through the other doors to lead to mine. I usher him inside, closing and locking the door behind me. I also set up the security code to ensure that no one would come in here.

After I type in the last number for the code, I suddenly get a little nervous. It's not like I would blame Brody if he would be freaked out. But I can't help but be worried. I haven't shown someone my wolf since Karyn came into the picture. And I was nervous enough telling her. Now I have to show my literal mate?

What if he changes his mind when he sees what I look like? What if he hasn't believed this the entire time and seeing it will change his point of view?

"Darling," Brody whispers from behind me.

I jump a little bit and turn around to see that he was giving me a soft look. Oh god those eyes are going to make me melt.

"You don't have to do this. I trust you if that's what you're worried about."

God, it's like he can read my mind. Or, well, maybe he can since we're connected now or whatever. But that's beside the point.

"I want to," I tell him honestly. And I do, I'm just nervous about it.

"You don't have to be scared," he whispers. "I'm with you all the way. You don't even have to show me if you don't want to."

"I am," I mutter. "Just wait right here."

He gives a soft nod as I turn and briskly walk over to the end of the track. I will admit that I was nervous as all hell, but I wasn't going to let that beat me.

I take a few calming breaths as I make my way over to the other end of the track. But I could tell that my wolf was happy on the other hand. Of course she'll get mad once she realizes that she won't get to run for long. But I know she'll be happy to be free even for a few moments.

After I get to the other end, I pause for a second before I turn around to look back at him at the other end. "Promise you won't freak out?" I yell slightly.

"I never freak out," he smirks.

As if he didn't freak out when I told him that I was a princess or a werewolf. I roll my eyes and stand still, taking in deep breaths.
