A Miracle - 22

The three of us run to catch up with Konan, who was a decent bit ahead of us down the corridor. Which is to be expected since he was the father of the baby.

I could tell that Brody wanted nothing more than to stop and admire the place. But I would give him a tour later. Right now, we need to get down to the infirmary.

It takes us a few minutes since the place is so huge, but my heart was racing with excitement by the time that we got there. When the three of us showed up, Konan was already talking outside the room with the doctor, and I could hear their hushed tones.

"Lelan, how far along is she?"

Lelan has been the pack doctor for as long as I can remember, even though he's the same age as Brandon and Justin. He's an older man like the two of them, with jet black hair and some slight eye wrinkles, you can't really tell that he's that old otherwise.

"She's almost fully dilated, so we need to get you in there."

He takes a deep breath and smiles at us, "I'm going to have another baby."

"Yeah, get your butt in there," I give him a small shove, and Roman smiles at him, "Go get 'em, man. Wish Athena good luck from us."

"You got it," he smiles and rushes into her room and I can hear her gasp from relief.

I can't help but feel my nerves start to kick in while we go sit in a small waiting room across the hall from her room. We chose some chairs to sit in where we could still have a view of the door and wait for the time to pass by.

Brody was sitting to my right, and Roman off to my left. I furrowed my eyes once we sat down and I glanced around, realizing that no one. No one else was here.

I figured that it was still pretty early so I didn't really say anything for about five or so minutes. But then I let it out. "Roman?" I whisper, "Why aren't mom and dad here?"

"I'm sure dad thinks he's too busy to come and mom follows dad's orders. Knowing Alexander, he thinks he has to follow dad and help take charge and Cilan would go with him," Roman retorts.

"I don't even think dad's here," I murmur. "Remember, Brandon was the one leading the pack out with the rogues today."

"Right," Roman mutters.

I sigh and kick my feet in annoyance, "Man they freakin irritate me."

"I know," he chuckles and rubs my left shoulder. "I know, you just need to relax."

A few more minutes go by when I hear footsteps coming down the hallway. It didn't take me long to realize who it was and I only smiled when I see Theo come into the waiting room. "Theo!" I exclaim and get up to hug him.

"Hey, big sis," he chuckles and hugs me tightly as I get over to him, "I missed you."

"I missed you too," I giggle as he spins me around. "How are you?"

"Good," he smiles and sets me down. He then pulls away and I can't help but reach a hand out to lightly touch his cheek. "I'm sorry I didn't come down with Konan and Roman, father apparently said he had things for me to do," he rolls his eyes. "I think it's just because he was mad at them for going so he punished me."

It feels weird since my brother is slightly taller than me despite him being almost two years younger. Stupid tall genes in the family.

"That's alright, I'm just so happy to see you," I whisper and smile up at him. I can see the happiness all over his face, making me smile even more.

I quickly remember why we were here and who we were with, realizing that he and Brody had never even met before. Hell, he didn't even know about Brody yet.

I turn around to see that Brody was sitting and watching me, a small smile on his face. I sort of feel bad after remembering the fact that he doesn't have a brother. I smile at my mate before I go over to him, reaching down to grab Brody's hand.

Brody gives me a peculiar look, but carefully holds his hand out towards me. I grab him and pull him up so he's standing next to me. I then point the short distance towards Theo, "Brody, this is my younger brother Theo. Theo, this is my mate, Brody."
