You ARE My World

6 months later

It has been six months since I blurted to everyone that I was pregnant again. And the suspicions were true. I was pregnant. Steven and I decided to keep the gender a secret, from everyone until the baby is born. But Steven and I know. Addison was now fully walking without falling, and she was starting to talk in sentences. She sometimes didn't make sense. But it was funny. I was working part time while being able to take care of Addison during the day. Steven works for his dad at his construction site company. Steven's parents have made ammends with me, and Pat Steven brother, and we periodically all join each other for a family dinner. Today was the day that I had off, and I was really excited to go with my brother Lucas and his girlfriend Lucy to the playground and lunch with her daughter and Addison. Steven got ready to leave around 9 am. It was really nice working for family, because we had the hours that we needed to work around seeing each other. "Hey sweetie. I've got to get to work." He said kissing me and then my belly. "Okay. Be safe. I love you." I said reprimanding him. He smiled. "I love you too." He smiled He kissed Addison's head and left for work. I got up, knowing that it was going to take me a minute to get up. This pregnancy was not going as smoothly as when I was pregnant with Addison. I was a lot bigger, which means, I might have to have a C-section. And I was still having morning sickness and pains in my back. I got Addison some breakfast and I ate also. "Beetle? You want to take a bath now or later?" I asked her. "Waiter." She said said with a mouth full of oatmeal. I nodded. "You want to go to the playground with Uncle Lou and Olivia?" I asked again. Her eyes lit up. The playground was one of her favorite places to go. Other than in just to be in the car in general. "Thank you." She said in reply to my comment. I laughed. "Come on. Lets go get washed up, and grt dressed. We are having Shorty's for lunch." I explained. "Shorty!!" She squealed. I lift her out and let her walk up the stairs to the her room. I let her pick out the clothes she wanted and I brushed through her hair. "Ow mommy ow!" She said pulling her head away. "I know Beetle, but we have to look pretty for Uncle Lou." I said smiling. "Uncle Lou?" She asked. She clapped her hands. It was kind of nice being able to talk to her and her say something back other than smile. "Yep. Uncle Lou!" I said clapping back after I was done. "All done!" She said running over to her toys. I sat in the chair that was in her room for a while, and waited for Lucas to text me.

Lucas- Hey, I'll be picking you up in about a half hour. How are you feeling today?

Me- I'm alright. I'll be ready soon. Love ya.

I lied. I was hurting today but I didn't want to worry him. I got dressed and helped Addison down the stairs. Lucas came in to help me carry her out. "Hi Addie. How are you today?" He asked flying her to the air. "Lou! No!" She said laughing. I waddled out to the car and I got in. "No tell me how you're really doing. And don't lie to me. I know how you are." He said getting in and driving off. I shrugged. "I've been better." I said getting kind of emotional. "Amelia. Are you alright?" He asked. I nodded. "Yes. Just a sore back. It's like the baby is sitting in on my spine. And it's legs are in my lungs." I explained. He looked at me worried. "I don't think that's a normal feeling. I mean I know in the last trimester it is normal to experience some un-comfortless.But not how you are explaining it." He said. I nodded. "I will bring it up to the doctor tomorrow morning." I said making him feel better. He nodded. When we got to the playground Addison instantly started to smile. "Out pease." She asked. "Hold on. We have to put some sun block on you." He said. I got out of the car and went over to the shade to sit down. Addison came running to me when she saw me near the play ground. "Go play. I'm right here." I said. "No. Mommy do!" She said pulling me. I was hurting and I couldn't get up again. But I did. She went running when she saw Olivia and they ran off together to go down the slide. "Addison is so grown for her age. She is talking really well also." Lucy said to me. I nodded. "She's a little ahead of the game. Not a problem though. But Steven still calls her Matilda." I joked. She laughed. I sat at the bench nearsest to the playground and talked to her. Lucas was playing with the girls pushing them in the swing. "Thank god for him." I said pointing. She nodded. "He's a great guy." She said blushing. "This may be a little personal, but are you guys serious?" I asked. I knew that they were boyfriend and girlfriend. But I never knew how serious they were. She nodded. "I'd like to think we are. I love him." She said. I nodded. "That's awesome. You are a great girl. And I can tell he loves you a lot." I assured her. She looked at me. "Howw can you tell? Sometimes I think otherwise, but I know he does." She asked. "He looks at you the way Steven looks at me. With love, and compassion. He may not express it all the time, but he talks about you highly." I explained smiling at her. She nodded and left it at that. Just then I got a really bad cramp and I winced. "You alright?" Lucy asked grabbing my arm. I shook my head. "No. I think that I am going into labor." I said. "You can't be. It's way too early. Just take a deep breath and relax all the muscles in your stomach. Focus on your breathing."She coaxed me. I nodded. I breathed. "Can you please call my mom?" I asked her. She grabbed my phone and called my mom and she asked me to come over right away. Lucas rounded up the girls and put them into Lucy's car. "I'll meet you over there. Hang in there lady." She said putting her hand on my shoulder. Lucas helped me into the car and I got another cramp. "This is not normal Lucas." I said crying because it hurt so bad. He slipped on his sun glasses hiding his eyes because he was scared. "Relax." He said taking a deep breath. He sped a little and I called Steven. "Hey love. I just got done with tearing a roof. On break. What are you doing?" He asked. "Steven. Meet me at my parent's house Asap. There is something wrong." I said quickly. "I'll be there in 10 minutes." He said hanging up the phone. When we got to my parent's my dad was already waiting for us outside to help me in the house. "Come on Pip." He said picking my up and bringing me into the house. His OBGYN friend, Lyza was there. "Mind if I take a look sweetie?" She asked. "No." I said crying in pain. She put on gloves and started examining me. "You are 5 cm dilated." She said looking at my dad. "We need to get her to the hospital soon." She said. My dad got on the phone called any ambulance. "What's going on?" I asked. Lyza took off her gloves and patted my knee. "Don't worry sweetie. We are going to take care of you." She assured me. When Steven got there dad pulled him aside and told him to be calm. I didn't know what was going to happen from here, but I was scared. And I just wanted this to be over.
