When we arrived back to the barn, the reception was already for the party. Luther helped me out and the Dj stopped the light music to announce us in. When we walked down the yellow carpet that once was the aisle everyone clapped and whistled for us. "We are going to do things a little different here." The DJ started. "Luther has requested that he wants to do their first dance together, and then there have been songs chose for both of you to dance too." He explained to everyone. Luther walked me to the dance floor, and he spun me around. I giggled, and he pulled me in close as always. The DJ played Don't take the girl, and we danced. I started to cry because he put his hands on of the small on my back and he squeezed me tight. "You look so beautiful." He whispered in my ear. "Thank you. And you, you look so handsome." I replied to his comment. When the song was over, he looked me in the eyes and kissed me. "I love you." I smiled biting my lip. He chuckled. "I love you too Sweetie." He kissed my cheek. "Luther wants to play his song to Amelia first." The Dj explained. We both wanted to dedicate a song to each other at our wedding, because we both expressed our feelings through music. "Luther chose the song, A Gut Walks into a Bar, by Tyler Farr." The DJ announced. I laughed and let out a giggle. Luther was always singing me this song and making me giggle. Luther danced me around goofy this time, and he made me smile and dance like there wasn't a whole barn full of people watching. He sang the last few verses to me and pulled me in close.
A guy walks into a bar, orders a drink
Sees a girl that catches his eye
Asks her if she wants another
They fall for each other and end up lovers
They laugh, cry, hold on tight, make it work for a little while.
Just then I realized that, I knew why he loved that song so much. That explains how we met. I smiled once I caught his eye and he smiled at me with his big smile and bright eyes. "Today marks the start of our new life. Our love story. It will be like no other. I love you Amelia." He explained tenderly to me. I smiled. "Yes it does love. I love you too." I smiled letting go of him for a second. "Now, Amelia has chose a song for Luther, and I think that this song will make everyone smile." He made everyone chuckled as soon as the song started. I chose the song "Smile" by Uncle Kracker, Because he does make me smile uncontrollably when I am with him. He makes me feel like the only girl in the world when he smiles at me. He chuckled when I scrunched my nose at him.
Don't know how I lived without you
'Cause every time that I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
I sang to him, and he listened to every word. It's like he held on to the words ad put them in his pocket. When we were done dancing to our songs, everyone came to talk to us, and take pictures with me. Luther was off with his brother, looking like he had something up his sleeve. I made eye contact with him, and he winked at me. I felt in the dark, and I didn't know if I should be scared or laugh at him. After about an hour of talking and eating, Luther came over to me, and grabbed my hand. "Follow me." He said helping me out of my chair. I looked around, and everyone had their phones out taking pictures. I looked confused and he laughed. There was a chair that had balloons on it. He helped me sit in the chair and he dissappeared for a couple minutes. The DJ started to announce that my brother had a few words to say. Luther came back out and stood behind me.
"Oh man, where do I even begin? Amelia. I didn't picture this day to be this soon, but I'm glad it happened. When you were younger, you sat in your room with a notebook and a pen, and planned your dream wedding, with your dream guy. And today, it happened. I couldn't be more proud of you, for making a living for you and your kids, and I can't wait to see how our futures pan out togehter. Luther, thank you for taking care of my girl. She's my best friend. So please remember to love her unconditonally, and never let her go. Em, don't forget that he is human and makes mistakes. He loves you, and you love him just as much. Enjoy your life together guys. So proud of you both. I love you guys Cheers!" He speeched. I got up and hugged him. I was crying, only because he was my best friend too. "I'm so proud of you Pip." He said hugging me tight. "Thank you Lou. I married my other best friend today. And I know he's going to treat me good." I smiled letting go of him. Luther came over and shook Lucas's hand and then hugged him. The DJ started to play more up beat music, and I went to the bathroom to fix my makeup. I invited Steven, and I knew that he wasn't going to show. He had every right not to show, but we are friends, or so I thought. I thought maybe he would be here to support me. But, I will just have to shake this one off. I walked into the bathroom and Addison was with my mom going to the bathroom. "You alright?" She asked. I smiled. "Absolutely. Nothing can ruin this day." I smiled in assurance. She nodded. Addison came over to me, she was wearing regular clothes now, and she jumped into my arms. "Mommy. I'm tired." She said. "I know sweetie. I will call daddy to see if he can come get you." I explained. She nodded. I carried her out to the tables and I sat with her for a little bit while I tried to contact Steven. "Hey, Em. I'm in the parking lot. I have been for a while. I'm finding the courage to come in there. Everything alright?" He answered the phone. I chuckled. "I'll be right out." I said hanging up the phone. I explained to Luther that I was taking the kids to Steven and he nodded. I walked out side with two kids in my arms and he got out to grab Addie. "You look beautiful. Congrats." He said shy, and somewhat smug. I nodded. "Thanks. Oh, and thanks for getting the kids. I'm going to miss them so much when we leave for the week." I explained. I kissed the kids goodbye and I hugged Steven. I walked back inside and I hung onto Luther. I wasn't feeling good, but I wasn't going to let it ruin my night. We danced, and we shoved cake in each other's faces, and I took a lot of pictures with family members and friends. "I need Amelia, and her father for one last dance of the night." The DJ said at midnight. I kissed Luther, as he walked me to my dad, and he backed up. My dad was obviously already crying, but he still smiled at me, and grabbed my hand and wrapped the other one around my back. We danced to the song that he always sang to me growing up.
Well I'll never forget the first time that I heard
That pretty mouth say that dirty word
And I can't even remember now what she backed my truck into
But she covered her mouth and her face got red
And she just looked so darn cute
That I couldn't even act like I was mad
Yeah I live for little moments like that
Well that's just like this last year on my birthday
She lost all track of time and burnt the cake
And every smoke detector in the house was goin' off
And she was just about to cry until I took her in my arms
And I tried not to let her see me laugh
Yeah I live for little moments like that
I know she's not perfect but she tries so hard for me
And I thank god that she isn't 'cause how boring would that be
It's the little imperfections it's the sudden change in plans
When she misreads the directions and we're lost but holdin' hands
Yeah I live for little moments like that
When she's layin' on my shoulder on the sofa in the dark
And about the time she falls asleep so does my right arm
And I want so bad to move it 'cause it's tinglin' and it's numb
But she looks so much like an angel that I don't wanna wake her up
Yeah I live for little moments
When she steals my heart again and doesn't even know it
Yeah I live for little moments like that
When the song was over, my dad hugged me for a good five minutes crying and telling me how proud me he was. "I love you Pip. I'm so proud of you, and I wouldn't trade any of this for the world." he explained. He wiped his face and walked over to Luther. I heard him say "Thank you for loving my baby girl." As he hugged him. I let a tear fall and Lucas patted my back. "You caught a good one this time." He winked. I nodded. "I sure did, didn't I?" I asked smiling back at him. I caught a glance at Luther and he gave me a cheeky smile. "Come on baby. We have a plane to catch." He said grabbing my hand. We were going to Disney, and then Daytona Beach in Florida for the week. Both something we wanted to do. I couldn't wait to finally be alone with him for a week, just him and I no, distractions. Just me and my husband.
