When I woke up this morning, my mom came into my room to hand me some flower samples for the wedding. Sunflowers were obviously what I wanted. Luther and I decided on a full on country wedding. We are keeping it simple, but we want it to be perfect. We decided that Octive is going to be the Maid of honor, and Luther's best friend Dave is going to be the best man. We decided to keep the wedding party small, unlike Lucas and Octive. They had 7 bridesmaids and groomsmen. We were getting married on the beach near the cove where we had our first date. And we were having our reception at the barn where he proposed to me. We were getting married the day after Grayson's 1st birthday in two months. I couldn't believe that in two months my baby will be one and I am getting married all in one weekend. "I want sunflowers and baby-breaths in my bouquet. And I want three sunflowers in Octive's wrapped in the burlap like mine. And for the Boutonnière is going to be a small sunflower, with the burlap as well." I explained to her. She nodded. "Just like me. Must be something on my side of the family." She joked. My mom loved sunflowers, and I loved the color yellow, therefore my favorite flower is a sunflower. Luther was wearing a gray tux, and with a yellow tie. I was excited when he let me pick the color of our wedding. We are doing sunflower yellow, and silver. It is a happy color, the color of sunshine, and the color that makes me think of Luther whenever he smiles at me. "I'm so happy for you, that you are so happy." She explained. I nodded. "Thanks mom. I am really happy. Luther is such a sweetheart." I replied. "I will go order these flowers and then we will, figure out the everything else out later. Love you baby." She explained. I told her that I loved her too. I got up and I got Grayson from his crib, and set him on him the floor to play with his toys. "Hey love." I heard Luther open the door. "Hey sweetie. I was just about to get Addison up so she can go with Steven. They are going on vacation with their parents again." I laughed. He nodded. "I can get Grayson dressed if you want." He suggested. I nodded. Addison was already awake, but she was lying in bed. She didn't look like she felt good. "You alright beetle?" I asked her sitting next to her in her tiny toddler bed. She nodded. "I miss daddy." She frowned. I nodded. "I know you do. But today you are going to Florida with Nana and Papa, and daddy." I reminded her. She smiled and grabbed the clothes from my hands. I helped her slip into them and she ran out to see Luther. I saw him pick her up and set her on his lap. She poked at his cheek, and counted his freckles.
When Steven arrived to pick the kids up he took them in a hurry. He was running late for the plane. I nodded hugged the kids and told them I'd see them in a week. When it was just Luther and I got up and sat on his lap facing him. "We are getting married in 59 days." He smiled. I nodded. I rested my head in his shoulder and I just sat there. He let me sit there until he picked me up and set me on the couch. "I have to go get Sylvia off the bus. I will be back in an hour." He explained to me, kissing my cheek. I nodded. "I love you." I told him. "I love you too sweet thing." He replied walking out the door. Once again I was kid free. I decided to go up stairs and try on my wedding dress. I slipped into it, and zipped it up the side and observed myself in it. It was floor length, straight down to the floor. It was lacy in the bra area. It was actually in the prom section of David's Bridal, but it caught my attention and I wanted to try it on. And when I did my mom and Octive both agreed that it was the one. I bought a new pair of cowboy boots that had yellow in them. I was wearing my hair down, and my mom was making me a headband that had mini sunflowers on it. I took off the dress, just in case Luther came back sooner than expected. I slid it in Lucas's closet and covered it with his clothes.
When Luther came back, he told me he wanted to take me somewhere. "How should I dress?" I asked him curiously. Hoping that it would give me an idea of what we were doing. "Dress to get dirty love." He winked at me. I looked at him excited. I put on a pair of jean shorts and a tank top and threw my hair into a bun. I hopped into his truck, and he drove for about 10 minutes. We pulled into a farm that was named 'Hope's Farm.' He got out and he grabbed my hand. We walked into the store part and he walked me into the back office. "Ya'll, this is Amelia. She prefers Em. My fiance." He introduced me. I smiled and waved shyly. "I'm going to take her on the Mule and show her around." He explained. They nodded and told us to have a good time. We walked back out and he helped me into the mule. (It is a like a four wheeler, just with a top, and seat belts.) He started to explain everything to me. "This is my mom and dad's farm. It has been in the family for over 50 years. My grandparents owned it, then it was passed onto my dad and his wife, which was my mom. The farm was originally called Wren's farm, which, is my last name obviously. But when my mom died, we decided to name it after her, because it was one of her favorite places in the world. I'm going to take over this farm. In 6 months." He explained. I felt my heart sink when he told me that this farm was named after his mom. It was something that made me feel sad, because I knew he missed her. "That's awesome love. I can't wait for you to be the owner of it. I know that you will fo great things." I smiled confidently at him. "Since you are going to be my wife, are you okay with me taking it over?" He asked. I nodded. "Of course. Wouldn't want it any other way." I assured him. He nodded. "What's your favorite darm animal?" He asked winking at me. "Actually, pigs are my favorite animal of all." I said giggling. He laughed and drove us over to the pig pen. I got out to admire them. He opened the gate and held it open for me to come in. "Are you sure we are supposed to be in here?" I asked nervous. He nodded. "Absolutely. These are the pigs we use for the petting zoo in the fall." He explained. I got down to pet the pigs that were already at my feet. "That's Daisy, Rae, and Moonshine." He explained to me. I pet all three of them and he grabbed my hand and took me around the corner. He picked up a piglet. "This is Maisy. She is 4 weeks old. Her momma died. She was old. She doesn't get along with the others, so she sticks herself in the corner." He explained. I looked at him. He held her out, and I accepted. "Usually pigs don't like to be picked up. But Maisy loves it." He explained to me. I held her and I pet her. "I love her. She's so sweet." I said cooing at her. "Then, that can be your pig." He smiled. I looked at him excited and hugged him. I had a pet pig. I set Maisy down, and we got back into the mule. "Ever been Horse ridin'?" He asked. I shook my head. "My dad and brother are deathly afraid of horses, so dad always forbade us to even go to a petting zoo with horses. But I think they are beautiful." I explained to him. He nodded. "My sister Sylvia is afraid of horses too. Come ta think of it, she's afraid of a lot of things." He joked. I let out a giggle and he drove me over to the horses. "Grab my sister's saddle love." He said grabbing one for him. I was nervous. I have never been on a horse before, but I trusted Luther, and I knew that he was going to keep me safe. He helped me strap on the saddle and he introduced me to the horse, her name was Opal. She loved people and loved Carrots. Luther's horse was named Travis, which was funny because Travis was the brother that was deathly afraid of horses. Luther helped me on carefully to the horse. He showed me where my feet and hands should be when getting on. "You alright? You look a little pale?" He asked. I nodded. "Just a little nervous. Don't want to upset her." I explained. He shot me a smile and reached his hand up into the small of my back. "Don't worry. She's been riding my sister's since they have been old enough to ride." He assured me. I felt my muscles relax when he smiled at me, and he gave me all the commands to tell Opal. He hopped on his horse and we rode down a little trail. It was beautiful, and it was so relaxing. Opal was following everyone of my instructions I gave her. We stopped about 2 miles in, and he helped me off. He brought me down to a little creek. "This is the wishin' creek. We started this when mom died. My dad had a pastor come and bless tha water. Now we have people that come and wish or peace, or comfort during hard times. We're not just a farm here. We're family." He explained. I got a little teary eyes. "That is beautiful." I explained. He nodded. "Come on. I have one more place to take you." He said grabbing my hand. It was a quiet the horse ride home. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was a peaceful silence. I love him. I loved that I found someone that I could sit in silence with and it not be weird. I love that he shows me things, and loves me as much as I love him. We got back to the stables and a nice man named Pig put the horses away for us. We got back in the mule and he brought me up to the front desk. There was a man waiting with a pen and a piece of paper. "This is the papers for me to own this farm. I was wondering if you wanted to sign it with me. Since you're going to be my wife, this farm will soon be yours also." He explained. My eyes lit up. Ever since I've been little, it has been my dream to start a business, or own one. "Absolutely." I smiled. He nodded and signed the paper. "Now, miss sign your name on the line underneath Luther's." The lawyer said. I took the pen and I signed underneath his name and I smiled. Luther hugged me. "I love you." He smiled into my eyes. I smiled back at him. "I love you too." I smiled. He brought me outside and pointed to the house on the side of the corn field. "What's that sweetie?" I asked. He chuckled. "That's our home." He said handing me keys. My mouth dropped. It was big, and it it was beautiful, old yellow farm house. My favorite color. "You're joking." I started to cry. He shook his head. "No jokes here love. It's all paid for. Dad is living there with us. But there is a whole nother apartment upstairs. We won't even know he's there." He explained. I hugged him and he picked me up. "I love you. I hope ya like it. There are 6 bedrooms." He explained. I laughed. "I will love it. I can't wait." I assured him. He took me over to the house, and he walked me through it. The downstairs was empty, waiting for us to move in.
After we were done looking at the house, Luther took me out to dinner to discuss wedding details We talked about tuxes, and the limo. "I really want to ride out in your truck." I smiled at him. He looked at me surprised. "Really?" He asked flabbergasted. I nodded. "Yes. I think it breaks tradition just a little. I like it. Only if you are alright with it." I explained. He nodded. "I'm perfectly fine with it. I love that idea." He assured me. We spent the rest of the night talking about our future together. And I was 100% that I was ready to spend the rest of my life with this man.
