"Today's the day!" I said running throughout the house cheerfully! Today was the day that I was going to officially become an aunt. Lucas and our family is going to get court so he can sign the papers to legally adopt Olivia. The only downside of today, is that Lucy will be there. She has to sign the papers to forcefully give her daughter over to Lucas. "Someone's awfully chipper this morning!" Octive said in the kitchen. Octive was staying with us this week until the house on Mason's Point was fully renovated to move back into. "Lucas is going to be a father today! And I'm very excited for him. I think that this will give him the opportunity to grow up and settle down a bit." I said excited. Octive and Lucas have been on three dates this past week and half. I think that they are dating, but they haven't publically announced it yet. She chuckled. "I think what he is doing is great. I'm proud of him." She blushed. I laughed. Steven came down the stairs with Grayson and his 02 tank, and kissed my forehead. "Morning Octive." He said. She smiled. "Morning Steven." I looked in the living room to see if the girls were awake. "We have to get going, we all have to be at the town hall at 10am. And then we are going to dinner later tonight with the whole family." I explained to them. We all got ready and the let the girl sleep until we couldn't anymore. Octive took Addison downstairs to the bathroom to give her a bath, and I gave Olivia one up here in the bathroom. I gave her a bath, put on a nice outfit and combed her hair. "Don't worry Livy, Lucas will take care of you. I promise." I said hugging her. It has been nice to have her in the house, and have Addison be able to play with someone her own age. I looked at the time and let out a sigh. We were going to be late. I quickly grabbed her shoes and raced down the stairs. Steven was loading the SUV up with the extra row of seats so we could take some of others with us. Octive helped me buckle kids in and we were on our way. When we got there with 5 minutes to spare I let out a sigh of relief. When we walked in, Lucas was sitting in a chair and Olivia ran right to him. The lady sitting next to him noticed and she smiled. Little did we know that, that was the judge! When we got into the room Lucas needed a witness to testify if he was going to be a good father or not. I raised my hand silently and the judge who's named just happened to be Judy called me up. I looked at Steven and I let out a snicker. "Lucy's Lawyer asked me a series of questions but the most important one last. "How do you know that Lucas will be a good fit for Olivia?" He asked. I sighed and I glanced at Lucy who had her head down in shame. "I know that my Brother Lucas Wake, would be a great father to Olivia. Is he going to goof up? Yes. Is he going to make mistakes? Yes. But I know that deep in my heart he loves that little girl there isn't a doubt in my mind that Olivia doesn't love him. She does. I mean, with all due respect your honor, you saw the way she ran to him when she got there. No one in that room mattered to her more than Lucas. And no one mattered more to Lucas than Olivia. He is loving, he is kind, and he would do anything to help anyone in need. He is a great compassionate family guy. I'm lucky to call him my brother." I said smiling. I looked up from my hands that I was fidgeting with and I saw that my mom was crying. "Thank you Amelia. You can go take your seat." The judge said. I got up and walked back to my seat swiftly. The lawyer of Lucy, defended an argument. "But, is he going to be able to do it alone?" He asked the judge. The judge sighed. I raised my hand. "Come back up to the stand Amelia." Judy said to me. I sat back down on the stand, and I started to speak again. "There was a time in our childhood where my mom was in a deep place, Sorry mom." I said looking at her. She smiled and she nodded. "Don't get me wrong. My mom was a loving woman, and would do anything for us. but she was having some physiological issues, and dad was working hard to take care of us. Lucas was only 9 months older than me, so about 12 or 13. He made sure my homework was done every night, tucked me into bed when mom was having a panic attack, and when dad worked nights. He would feed me, and make sure I got on the bus every morning with him. He did it all and still had time to take care of himself. If you are still wondering if he can take care of her alone, he can. He is such a strong independent guy, and again, would do anything for anyone if they needed it." I explained. The judge nodded. "No further questions." She said banging the wooden thing on the table. "Lucas Wake, I grant you the full custody of Olivia Ilene Pock. Birth mother has no say. Child abuse and neglect is no joke. Good luck Mr. Wake." She explained. I smiled and got up and ran to my brother. I hugged him and he was crying. "Thank you." He said. I nodded. "Don't even mention it. Congratulations." I said patting his back. Steven brought Olivia over to Lucas and he squeezed her and hugged her. She let out a giggle and he told her that he loved her. The judge asked him to come over and sign paperwork. Lucy was walked by him by the police in hand cuffs and she was crying. "Hey wait!" Lucas called out to the police. "Lucy, don't worry. I will take care of her. Go and get the help you need. And when you get out you'll always have a friend in me." He smiled. She looked down. "Thanks Lucas." She said not looking at him. The judge smiled as she took my phone and took a picture of him signing the paper work with Olivia in her hands. When we were done exchanging hugs and pictures Octive walked over to him, and she hugged him. He kissed her head and I smiled. I knew that they were getting serious, and I didn't know whether they were dating or not. But it looked like it. "I am so proud of you." I heard her say. He smiled. "Thank you." He said. I looked away when I saw that I was caught. "Pip." Lucas said getting my attention. I turned my head and smiled with hope. I crossed my hands like I was begging for an answer. He nodded at me and I let out a squeal. I hugged the both of them. "How exciting!" I said letting go. "Who wants to go get out of these dress clothes?" My dad asked. All of us raised our hands. When we got out to the car Lucas realized he didn't have a car seat. I took the one from the truck and gave it to him. "You can't drive around with her without it." I said.He nodded and I got into the truck with my little family. I looked over at Steven who was looking for my hand. I grabbed on to it and squeezed lightly. He turned up the radio with his other hand and my favorite song by Shawn Mendes was on. I sang along to it, and smiled at Steven. When we got to my parents house I helped Addison out of the truck and let her play outside. I changed behind the truck and changed into jeans and a tshirt. I walked back towards the house and Addison was on the ground chalking with Olivia. "Hey girls. Whatcha drawing?" I asked. "I drawin' my sister." Olivia said pointing to the girl on the left. I smiled. "Who is your sister sweetpea?" I asked. She pointed to Addison and my heart filled with love. "Addison is your sister?" I asked. She nodded. "Yup!" She said giggling. I took a picture of the chalk, and then took a picture of the girls. "Want to change your clothes Addie?" I asked She nodded and I picked her up. Olivia wanted to join so I picked her up in my other arm. I brought them to the back of the truck and changed them both into some play clothes. When I let them go back to chalking, I noticed that my cousin was sitting on the porch swing all alone. He had his head down and looked upset. I walked over to him and plopped onto the swing. "What's up chump?" I asked nudging his knee. "Nothing. Just tired." He said. I laughed. "I've known you my whole life. There's something wrong." I said. He shrugged. "Just girl trouble. But i'll be fine." He explained. "What happened? Maybe I can help." I suggested. He let out a sigh, and started to talk, "Ashley has been asking for sex, so finally last night we did, and it was my first time, and it was awful. So she broke up with me this morning." He said getting red. I laughed. "Everyone their first time is terrible. She's a total bitch. And you can do better. Don't even let it faze you." I said to him. He chuckled. "Thanks Cuz." He said patting my shoulder. I nodded and I got up to find Steven. He was on the couch with Levi, and he was reading to him. I smiled. Steven was great father, and I was so proud of him for it. I knew that Lucas was going be the same way.
