It's been a week since I left Steven. And my life has been miserable. It's not that I was having a problem raising the kids on my own, it's just that I was so used to waking up to Steven every morning. I was used to rolling over and watching him sleep until he woke up and kissed my forehead. I can't help but wonder still what I did wrong. What did I ever do to make him so unhappy he had to lie to me and say he was working? Why was he so unhappy with me that he had to sneak around with Mandy? I met her the other day when I dropped the kids off to him. She was beautiful, she had a nice toned body, and long brown hair. She had brown eyes, which were dark and were extremely beautiful. I was jealous, and I wanted what she had, Steven. "Amelia, you want some coffee?" Tristen asked me. I nodded I got up, and I followed him down stairs with Grayson. Today was the day that Grayson was getting his oxygen tank off. His lungs were 97% developed and they said that they will be fully developed in less than 4 to 5 months. I accepted the cup of coffee that Tristen gave me and I got Grayson dressed. I didn't feel like showering, so I didn't. I thanked Lucas for watching Addison, while we went and he nodded. "Don't mention it." He smiled. I got in the car with Tristen and he drove to the hospital with me. I didn't want to be alone in a room with Steven, so I dragged him with me. The thing is, that I told Tristen a couple of days ago, that I didn't want to be with him anymore, and that we should just remain friends. He seemed upset, but got over it quickly. When we got there Steven and Mandy were waiting in the waiting room. I looked at Tristen, who had rage in his eyes. He was carrying Grayson for me, but I was dragging is 02 tank with behind them. Steven stood up and we both went over to sign in. When the nurse called us back I got up, and so did Tristen. "Sorry ma'am. Parents only." She explained. I froze. Tristen patted my back in assurance that I was going to be alright. Steven helped me carry him in. The nurse took all of his vital signs and asked us a few questions. "How has he been breathing with the 02 in his nose?" She asked. I nodded. "Very well. He isn't breathing so heavy anymore." I explained. She nodded. "Just wait for the doctor, and we will be in shortly to take it out." She said. I nodded. She left closing the door behind her. I took Grayson out of his car seat, and held him. He was now 2 months old, and even though he was still young, he was more lively and awake unlike his sister who likes to sleep. There was a lot of awkward silence waiting for the doctor, and I finally broke it. "Listen, just because we aren't together doesn't mean we can't along. And technically, we really should. For the kids' sake. Not mine." I said sternly to him. He nodded. "I agree. I'm sorry, I don't want to step on anymore toes than I already have." He explained. I nodded. "How are things?" I asked not really that curious. "Good. You?" He asked. I shrugged. "Alright. Just trying to live." I explained. He nodded. When the doctor finally came in, I let out a sigh of relief that we weren't alone. "Mr. And Mrs." He started off. I want correct him, but I didn't. I held Grayson as they took the tube out of his nose and Steven became queasy. "Excuse me." He said walking out. "Fiancé is a little squeamish aye'?" He asked in his Canadian accent. "He's not my fiancé. Well, he was but not anymore. And yes. He nearly passed out when he saw Grayson crowning." I explained. He nodded. "I did when my wife gave birth to our first son." He explained. I let out a little giggle, and he gave me a look. He hooked Grayson up to a machine to check his 02 levels were alright. When he came out a 98% the doctor let out a clap. "Fantastic! That's what I like to see!" He said unhooking the machine.  He put a finger on Grayson's nose and smiled at him. "You're all set to go. I'd like to see him back in a month, just to check up." He said freeing us. I nodded and called Steven to come back in. "I'm not putting him back in his seat yet. Can you go put it in my car? I have some running around here to do." I asked. He nodded. When we got to the waiting room, I told Tristen to follow me, and we walked down to the NICU, to find the nurse that took care of Grayson and me in the hospital. I hit the buzzer and she asked who it was. "It's Amelia Wake. I'm here with Grayson." I said recognizing her voice. "Oh! Come in sweetie!" She said opening the doors. I walked in with Tristen and she came to me rubbing her hands in hand sanitizer. She hugged me and immediately grabbed Grayson from me. I pulled the picture of her and him that I had printed for her and gave it to her. "Oh sweetie, thank you. I love it!" She said excited. "Kacie, this Tristen, a friend of mine." I said introducing the both of them. She smiled and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you." She said. "Same goes." He said in reply. After a few minutes of cooing over him she asked me where Steven was. I looked down and composed myself. "Oh, dear sweetie. I'm sorry. I should learn to keep my mouth shut!" She said hitting her forehead lightly. I chuckled. "Things happened between Steven and I, and we are no longer together. It's just not meant to be." I explained. She smiled. "You're trooper Amelia. You really are." She said admiring me. I blushed. "Thank you. I appreciate that." I smiled. We talked for a while and then Grayson started to get fussy. "Nice to see you again!" She said loud enough for me to hear from down the hall. I turned around and smiled at her. When I got out to the car, I noticed that Steven never put his car seat in the car. I let out a frustrated scream. "What's wrong?" Tristen asked. "Steven took the car seat with him. And didn't put it in my car like I asked." I said frustrated. Tristen let out a sigh as I called him.

Steven- hello?

Me- Where is the car seat?

Steven- Your car was locked. I put it in front of the car.

Me- It's not there Steven! Someone stole it!!

Steven- I am sorry what do you want me to do?

Me- I don't know. Bye

I hung up the phone a slammed it into my purse. "What did he say?" Tristen asked. I told him what he had said, and Tristen called him from his phone and let him have it. "GET OVER HERE NOW! WITH YOUR CAR SEAT!" He said ending the conversation. Steven took his sweet ass time getting there. And mean while I was feeding Grayson in the parking lot. When he got there Steven handed me the car seat and he got back in his truck. I put him in it, and we drove home. I got home, and I was still flustered. "I'll be back in a little bit. I'm going to go home and shower and do some errands and I'll come back to see if ya need anything." Tristen explained.  I nodded. I walked back into the house and my mom took a picture of Grayson without his tubes on. I explained to her what happened and she went crazy. "He's pushing it! He's really asking for my foot up his ass!" She said angry. I took Grayson out of his car seat and set him in his bouncer. He was falling asleep. I walked into the kitchen, and my mom was bitching at my dad about Steven did. He shook his head. "I think it's time for me to have a chat with him." He said calmly. I shrugged. "All power to ya." I said getting myself some lunch.. I thought about what happened today and all it did was make me angry so I shut my brain off. Tristen arrived shortly after the two hour mark and he had a box. He handed it to me and I looked at him. "I never got to give Addison anything, nor did I get to get him anything. Just think of it as a later baby shower gift." He explained. I looked at my mom who had wide eyes. I opened it up and it was a camo car seat. I smiled. "Thank you.. But" I started before he cut me off. "Don't but me. It's alright. I wanted too." He said to me. I nodded. "Thank you." I smiled. "Better." He said making me laugh. The rest of the day we spent playing with kids, and eating. I didn't need Steven to make me 100% happy. My kids and my friends are what I needed right now
