The last couple of weeks have been kind of crazy. Balancing three kids have been really hard. When I woke up this morning there were was a man and a woman at our door. I walked down stairs and apologized for not coming sooner. "That's alright ma'am. We are with Child Protection Services. We are here to see how the living situation for Olivia is." The lady explained. I asked for identification and then invited them in. "Would you like me to go get her? She's in her room with my daughter Addison." I explained. They shook their head. "We are just here to see the child in her environment and check on her surroundings." She said smiling. "Help yourself. I'm going to get my fiance." I said climbing the stairs. I warned Steven to put some clothes on as they came up the stairs. He quickly slipped on a shirt and some shorts. "Hello. I'm Steven." He said shaking their hands. They looked around our room which was clean. "I've noticed that your house is very neat and organized." The lady named Tina said. "Well, I don't like a messy home. But I'm not the most organized most days." I chuckled. They nodded and they walked over to Addison's room. I looked at Steven and he rolled his eyes. I made him laugh by being as uptight as they were. I followed behind them. Addison noticed that there was someone strange in her room and she ran to me. "It's alright Beetle, they are here to check on Livy." I explained to her. Olivia and Steven have this bond, and I think it's adorable. They looked around their room and suggested some things. "You should really get shorter curtains, and turn the room to hardwood." Tina said. "I can shorten the curtains, but we live in a rented apartment so I can't make accommodations." I explained. She nodded and wrote something in her book. Grayson started to cry and I walked out. I heard the man named Rob ask we had another child. "Yes. We have a son. He's a preemie and is almost a month old." Steven explained. I set Addison on the bed and tried to avoid them. "Babe! They want to speak to us." Steven yelled from the stairs. I made Addison come down stairs and I grabbed Grayson's tank and him and carried down the stairs. Olivia came over to help me after I got done with the stairs. I let her push the small tank over to the couch. "Thank you Livy." I smiled. She smiled. "Welcome." She giggled. The girls ran off to go play and Tina started to talk. "I know what you're doing has to be hard. Especially only being 18. And we are working on finding someone for her." She explained. I nodded. "She's a joy to have. And it is a little financially hard, but I wouldn't want her any where else. And I don't want her to go to just anyone. I want to know that she is going to be taken care of." I said firmly. She smiled. "We are working to get her the home she deserves." Rob said. They shook our hands and left. We were having a party for the triplets today. It was their birthday yesterday. I can't believe that they are are 5 already. "We better get ready for the party. I told my mom that we would be there early." I explained. Steven got the kids ready while I showered. We were ready by noon, and we left. When we got to parents house we got the kids out and Olivia ran straight to Lucas. He picked her up and started talking to her. These past few weeks Lucas has been picking her up and taking her to the playground, and bringing her to hang out with him, to give Steven and I a break. Lucas came over to me and pulled me aside. "What do you think about me adopting Olivia?" He blurted quietly. My eyes got big. "That is a big responsibility Lou." I said reminding him. He nodded. "I know, and I have been thinking about ever since she was fostered by you guys. I look at her, and I see what a sweet little girl she is. And she needs someone to love her unconditionally. And I do. I can't get her out of my head." He said. When he said that something pulled at my heart and I knew that he really wanted to father her. And I knew he could do it. I smiled. "Congrats bro. I'm finally an aunt." I said hugging him. Olivia smiled and swatted at my head. "Come on. I want to tell everyone." He said pulling me in. He called everyone to congregate in the living room and he stood in front of everyone. "I have decided that I am going to adopt Olivia." He said. My mom froze. "Are you ready to be a father?" She asked. "I am. And before any one tries to stop me don't. This is something that has been wracking my brain since what happened with Lucy. I love Olivia and I want her to be in my life." He said strongly. My mom nodded. "Alright. You've convinced me. We will go down to the CPS this week and get things started." She smiled. Lucas kissed Olivia and she made a face. "Sorry. I will shave." He said feeling his stubble. We all sat around talking, eating and sharing each other's company. Octive got here and I ran to hug her. Lucas looked at her and smiled. "Hey Octive." He said blushing. My brother has always had a secret crush on Octive. She smiled at him. "Hey Lucas." She said. They walked over to the bench outside and started to talk. I smiled. I was glad that my brother has moved on from Lucy and is starting his new life. When Uncle Dereck and Jenna got to our house they walked in at separate times. Aunt Jenna came in first smiling and Uncle Dereck came in second with three medium sized boxes. Dad helped him bring them into the dining room with the other presents and Aunt Jenna handed out little boxes to everyone. Once she handed them to everyone she told we could open them. Each one was filled with a pastry that we all liked. Mine was pistachio. "If you bite into them there is a surprise." She said smiling. I quickly bit into mine to see that there was pink and blue frosting in mine. "Aunt Jenna, mine has frosting in it." I said. She smiled. My mom bit into hers and there was a binky in hers. I got up and jumped up and down. "Yay!!" I screamed hugging her and Uncle Dereck. He looked at my mom sheepishly. She walked over to him and hugged him. "It's a boy. And it's going to be just like dad." She said to him. I have seen my Uncle Dereck cry once. When he broke his leg a couple of years ago. He was crying. "I hope so." He said. Aunt Jenna put her hand on his shoulder. "Why are crying Dereck?" My mom asked. "I am so happy. I just miss dad." He said. Aunt Jenna and my mom smiled. Steven and I split my pistachio muffin and I wiped a little bit of frosting on his nose. I laughed when he tried to look at it. "Get it off!" He laughed. I reached my mouth over to his nose and I licked it off. "Gross!" He said wiping his nose. I reached over and kissed him. Life was getting better. And I was excited to know that it was getting better. I looked out the window at Lucas and Octive and they were closer than they were before. "Look." I said pointing. Steven looked and smiled. I texted Octive.
Me- Get it lady!
Octive- Your brother is something else.
Me- I know. He's pretty great. :)
Octive- Can I accept his date? Or would that be too weird for you and I?
Me- If you don't accept it we might have problems! Of course you can!
Octive- I have a date tomorrow night! :)
Me- Whoop Whoop!!
I showed Steven the messages and he laughed. The triplets finally came downstairs with a group of friends and they all came running to me. "SISSY!" They said in Unison. I hugged them and I wished them a happy belated birthday. Addison came waddling behind all the boys and pushed through them to get to me. "Hi Beetle!" I said picking her up. "Mommy I go bye bye?" She asked. I shook my head. "No, we are celebrating your uncle's birthday. Why do you want to go home?" I asked. She laid her head in my shoulder. I hugged her and let her fall asleep on my lap. Grayson's tank started to beep. "The tank needs to be changed." I said to Steven. I watched him change it, and reset the machine on it. Grayson woke up to the new Canula being put in his nose. Steven picked him up and gave him to my mom who was dying to hold him. Steven took Addison from me and took her upstairs to her old room and put her in the bed my parents got for her. I followed him and shut the door behind me. He shut the door to Addison's room and when he turned around he saw me with my shirt off. He smiled. "What are you doing?" He asked. "Are you seducing me?" He asked. "Maybe." I said giggling. Steven picked me up and brought me over to the couch and kissed me. When we were done, he smiled at me and I laughed. "What?" I asked. "That was spontaneous." He said helping me sit up. "I know." I smiled helping him button his shirt. "I love you." He said looking at me striaght in the eyes. I smiled. "I love you too baby." I grabbed his tie and pulled him in close again. I giggled as he ran his hands through my hair. "Come on, they are going to suspect that we are up to something." I said smiling. He put on his pants and tucked in his shirt. I walked into the bathroom to fix my hair. "Meet you down stairs." He explained. I laughed. I touched up my hair with a little hair spray and walked down stairs. I walked over to Steven who was now sitting on the couch and I sat in his lap. "Thank you for making me the luckiest girl on the planet." I said kissing his head. "No, thank you. For making my world go round." He said grabbing m waist. I smiled and I sat with him until it was time for dinner. Life was good. And I was proud to call him mine.
