Today was the day! It was wedding day. I woke up at 8 am, to Octive coming in my room with a glass of champagne and my daughter. Luther had Grayson, and he was going to get him ready. My baby turned one yesterday, and it was bittersweet. Addison climbed into bed with me and showed me her nails. "Auntie took me to get them done last night while you were at Luther's house. They are so beautiful." She smiled at me. I nodded. "They are gorgeous my love. I love the yellow. Mommy's favorite color. Ready to get your hair done?" I asked. She clapped and let out a giggle. Octive already had gotten her hair done, and it looked amazing. It was down, but it was curly, and her bangs were pulled back into a ponytail with a sunflower hair clip. My mom was already down stairs with Aunt Jenna getting everything laid out for me. I walked down stairs and they both hugged me. "How you feeling?" Aunt Jenna asked me. I nodded. "Very nervous." I admitted. She nodded. "You're mother was so nervous she worked herself into an anxiety attack. But everything turned out amazing. And so is yours baby girl. I promise." She assured me. I nodded. The hair stylist came and did my mom, and Aunt Jenna's hair first. I wanted mine to last until tonight. Addison came down ready to get hers done. "I want a braid." She smiled. I looked at the stylist who looked at me concerned. I nodded at her in confirmation that it was alright. She braided her semi-long hair in a tight french braid and put a sunflower in her hair. My mom helped her slip into her dress, and my grandma started taking pictures. She took pictures for my parent's wedding so I decided that I would love to have her take mine. I got my hair done, and the stylist helped me put on my makeup. It was light, but just enough to bring out my eyes. I was starting to get nervous. I had to be there in 2 hours. I went upstairs with Octive and my grandma, and she helped me into my dress and my boots. Grandma took pictures of me looking at myself in the mirror. And me sitting on my trunk by my bed putting my boots on. My room was in the process of getting packed up to move in with Luther in two weeks. I walked down the stairs and my mom started to cry. "Please don't cry." I said getting teary eyed. She smiled. "I'm sorry, I'm a proud mom." She smiled. I nodded and hugged her. Grandma took a ton of pictures and then we all got into my mom's SUV and we went to take pictures of me and Addison at the park, Addison's choice of course. "Come on! It's time to go get married!" My mom said after 20 minutes of taking pictures. I got a knot in my stomach because I was so nervous. Octive gave me a bottle of water and told me to drink it. Thank goodness I have her today. I don't know what I'd do without her reminding me to even just drink a sip of water. When we got to the barn, there was a yellow carpet that led right up to Luther and Dave. I stood behind Luther's truck so he couldn't see me. My dad came around the corner of the truck to walk me down the aisle, and he almost fell to his knees in tears. "Daddy. You alright?" I asked. He nodded. "You look so beautiful." He explained. I hugged him and grandma took more pictures. "You ready Pip?" He asked. I nodded. "I'm so ready." I smiled. My uncle moved the truck and he found his seat in the front quietly. Music started to play in the background as me and my dad started to walk down the aisle. Luther had a tear roll down his cheek, and I let one roll too. My dad walked me all the way down, and kissed my cheek. "Love you baby." He said kissing my cheek. I nodded. "I love you too daddy." I whispered. Luther came down and grabbed my hand and helped me up the step. The preacher went through his spiel and then asked me to read my vows. I nodded and I got a knot. I felt Octive's hand on my shoulder and relaxed. I started to read aloud:
My dearest Luther, I have never really knew that I could fall in love with someone so fast. That first night we danced was one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced in my life. I love you so much. Thank you for being a wonderful step father to my babies. And my best friend who I can tell everything too , and you haven't run and hid. I promise to love you for ever with all of my being. I love you so much Luther Michael. And I'm so excited to be your wife.
"Luther. You can recite your vows now." The preacher ushered him. Luther looked at me in the eyes and he started to cry. I knew that I was going to need a box and a half of tissues after this.
Em. Two years ago, I was in a dark place. I had no where to go, and no one to turn too but family, who were also in the grieving process also. When I met you, that night at Nashville's, I knew you were the girl I wanted to take home to meet my family. We may be young, and we may be a bit crazy doing this, but I just want you to know that I love you with all of my heart. Grayson, and Addison, I promise to take care of you as well as your mom, and be the best step dad I can be for you. So, here is to our new life, I love you more Amelia Ebele.
By the time he was done talking Octive was handing me a tissue and he was wiping a tear from my cheek. "Now, by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss your beautiful bride." The preacher said to Luther. "She's pretty ain't she?" He asked him. I blushed and giggled. "Please just kiss me." I said antsy. He laughed and brought his hands gently to my face. He pulled me in and bent down to kiss me. His kiss still felt like the first time to me. Like, no one has ever kissed me before. I loved the way he made me feel. Everyone was clapping for us, and I hugged him. He kissed my head and Addison slipped off of Lucas's lap, and she came running to Luther and hugged him. He lifted her up and kissed her cheek. "So, are you like going to live with us now?" She asked. He nodded. "All of us are going to live together on a farm with tons of animals, and pretty flowers." He explained. She giggled when he tickled her stomach. He set her down, and we walked out to his truck, together for the first time as a married couple. He helped me in the truck and handed me my flowers. When we pulled away we waved out the window. I looked over at Luther, his smile was wide and he looked so happy. "Before we go to the reception, we have a small pit stop to make." He smiled. I nodded and slid to the middle seat of the truck. He wrapped his arm around me and he drove for a while. When we parked on the side of the road, He gave me a carving knife and picked me up and carried me over to his mom's tree so my dress didn't get dirty. He set me down and I kissed his cheek. "Ready?" He asked me. I nodded. "You think she would've liked me?" I asked Carving my Initials in the tree. When I was finished he took the knife and replied to my answer. "Absolutely. She would've." He said carving his initials and wrapping our initials into a heart. I took a picture of it, and a picture of him and I. "Come on. We have to go have our first dance as a married couple, and eat some delicious cake." He smiled. I giggled and he picked me back up and carried me to the truck. It was a quiet ride back to the barn, but I was in my husbands arms, and that's all that mattered to me in this exact moment in time.
This part is a little short, but I wanted to Split the Wedding and the reception up into two different parts so it was really long. Hope you all enjoy Luther and Amelia as much as I do.
