I tilt my head slightly, confused by the distress in his face. Everyone is like that when Luna "bombards" them. It's never really bothered me. Luna hops off, a happy bark rising in her throat.

"I'm glad you decided to get out. Let's go meet Wen-- uhh... Gwen and Evan," he says awkwardly. I hop off Luna, and we both walk side by side with Nathan.

We walk to the candy shop, and Gwen's eyes light up when we appear. Her hands are full of sweets, and Evan's is too. He wears a smile, but not quite as big as Gwen's. She beams a mile of glimmering teeth.

"What took you so long! You see what you made Evan and I do?!" She giggles.

Nathan chuckles, and I can't help but smile a little. I'm behind Nathan, as always. Almost as if I was hiding behind him. I'm like a shy little kid now. It seems to encourage Gwen.

"Here, we're definitely not going to eat this all on our own," Gwen says gently, handing me few chocolate truffles. I stare at them.

"I've never had chocolate before, except this one time," I blurt out. They all stare in shock, and my face flushes red as if that was humiliating.

My dad never allowed me to have candy, even before he knew I was the avatar. I guess he was always planning to make me a soldier. My Earth Kingdom couldn't afford such delicacies. I should be eager to eat one. And I am. Gwen's eyes shine as bright as ever seeing me smile. I can tell she longs to be my friend, probably to see why Nathan likes me so much. But I still don't trust her.

We decide (or everyone else decides while I follow Nathan) to 'hang out' somewhere warm. I'm dragged to Gwen's house.

She plops down on the couch, and the boys do the same. I fall in between Gwen and Nathan, while I'd much rather be on the end. She flips on the tv, putting a movie on. I nibble on the candy, finding it probably the best thing I've ever tasted. Nathan doesn't bother being settle, and dives into a jar of chocolate.

I flinch, remembering that night with the dancing and chocolate fountain. That's a happy memory, Rose I think.

"Chocolate fountain," I murmur, a slight smile creeping up on my lips. Nathan's eyes lighten up, and he wraps me closer in his arms. Gwen stiffens up.
