"Feel anything yet?"
"No... something is wrong. I can't reach her chi, but I know it's there."
"Let me try."
I don't let the voice try whatever he wanted to. Or try to not let him try. My eyes flutter open, and I have to blink multiple times and rub my eyes to get the blurriness out.
"Well that was messed up," I mumble, glaring at the three people.
Nathan offers a forced smile. "Has any of your memory come back yet?"
"Just bits and pieces. Most of it is bad."
"Well, for starters, my name is Nathan. This is Gwen and Evan. We were your friends."
I shake my head, putting my hands on my temples. Flashes of their faces become overwhelming once more. "Stop. It hurts."
"Well suck it up. You're the Avatar, and I think you should understand that pretty quickly before the world is destroyed," Evan snaps, having a bored expression on his face.
My eyes widen with confusion. "I don't know what that is."
Evan let's out a long, exasperated sigh. "This is gonna take a while."
He gets up and leaves the room. My gaze follows him with disgust. I don't think I even liked him with my memory. Funny, how I don't think I like Gwen either. My memories might have been wiped, but my feelings about certain people haven't. I start to become impatient, angry, and hostile.
My face reddens, while my amber eyes flare up. "Hey, last time I checked, I didn't ask for your help! Thanks for the nap, but hanging out with idiots is bad for my health."
Gwen looks offended, while Nathan seems like this is normal. He looks almost relieved, like my sarcasm and attitude is a good thing.
Surprisingly, he let's me walk out the room. Evan sits on the couch in the next room. The sleep dart gun is in his hand, and he's smirking. He shoots, but my reflexes take over. I instinctively put my hands up and catch the dart in a ball of air. A goofy grin spreads on to my face.
"Hah! I'm full of surprise--" I begin, but can't finish. Evan just lifts one hand, and clenches it into a fist. My hands uncontrollably go to my sides, while my legs stiffly come together. I grit my teeth.
"Aww, what's wrong? Thought you could beat me this time?" He sneers.
"Evan! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Nathan yells as he walks into the room.
"Sorry, she just kinda gets on my nerves."
"Everyone gets on your nerves. Let her go."
Evan clenches his jaw, then his fist tighter. I cry out in pain, and Nathan yells a concerned protest. And then I'm let go.
Nathan is about to beat Evan up, but sees it'd be the perfect chance for me to escape. I let my instincts take over like last time. I take water from a vase, and encase both my hands in ice daggers. Nathan stares at me in shock.
"When did you learn to do that?!" He asks.
"I TOLD you I don't know! I don't know a damn thing!" I snap.
Nathan quickly bends the water from my hands and into his. He smirks a little, as if he's taunting me.
I smirk back. "Challenge accepted."
Evan just watches, still annoyed with his brother and slightly interested.
I weave and dodge Nathan's blows, but I can tell he's holding back. But the problem is, I get tired too easily. I blow a gust of wind, knocking him against the wall. I bend the water to ice over his hands and feet, putting him into a spread eagle plastered to the wall.
"You're stronger," he murmurs.
