<The Frontlines>
Glory Schariac couldn't stand the stint in the air or the corpses that hung from tall trees and posts. They served as an example to the enslaved, a warning of the consequences of rebelling.
Lady Schariac gritted her teeth in anger as she reviewed the resources the conquered lands provided. Schicksal had lost the war yet the benefits of new land were being distributed to the inner circle of power that Overseer had. The Apocalypse house was able to exponentially grow their wealth at the expense of the countries and people. By creating this hell on earth the Overseer was able to keep the church afloat. He appeased his inner circle by coveting their power while simultaneously strengthening his own.
This disgrace has never occurred in the history of the church. Glory wished to annihilate this filth from the world but reality prevented her from acting rashly. The Valkyries that stood up against this act were imprisoned too valuable to be killed. Though a scant few escaped and formed their own resistance. Many raids were continuously being launched to free the captives, but it was a useless effort. The valiant heroes were outnumbered and the cruelty and the malice of the world had long manifested and corrupted the soldiers of Schicksal. Soldiers lost many friends to the enslaved. If there was any justice in their hearts it was suppressed by malice. Fear and hatred kept this unstable hell functioning but it would take more than a country to save all that suffered here.
Glory didn't wish to stay in this ghastly swamp of human cruelty but she had to. She needed to capture the man who killed her daughter. Her tent flap parted and a tracer of the Schariac family paced in.
"My lady, we've found traces of the Holy Maiden and Holy Son."
"Where?" Glory asked. She sat straighter and taller with anticipation, her hunt would soon come to an end.
"A small camp just west of the river has been discovered. Evidence suggests that there were only two at the site and they left not long ago. A team is following their trail."
Glory's eyes sharpened as she carefully thought out her next course of action. As luck would have it, her own tracers had uncovered their whereabouts.
"Do the others know?"
"Not yet."
"Alright, then keep me updated, but report at the usual times I don't want to arouse suspicion."
"Yes, my lady."
The tracer of the Schariac family left as Glory loaded her pistols. She would use a weaker caliber, the two needed to live for her own agendas to succeed. Otto Apocalypse the son of the devil was her only target. The box Kallen stole didn't matter and neither did Kallen.
Glory recalled their last encounter and mapped out their weaknesses. Otto would be deadweight this time around. His previous stunt would not work against the Valkyries his own father had sent. Kallen on the other hand must have recovered to full strength. There was no catching her off guard in an exhausted state this time around. But she also didn't have her divine key, the Oath of Judah, to boost her strength. It was going to be a difficult battle for Glory, the scenario she wished for seemed impossible to achieve. Regret filled her mind, she shouldn't have asked for the help of Schicksal's strongest Valkyries.
<Frontlines Camps>
A priest and nun walked together through a crowd of people that resembled walking corpses whose energy was drained from the sickly atmosphere. The couple's dirty and tattered appearance was not out of place in the sinking cracked ground. They eyed the injustice around, listened to the clinking of pickaxes in the distance, and tasted the iron in the air.
