"noona!" and the moment he saw his noona, the prince jumped out from the bed as he hopped in towards to the princess as he hugged her tight like as if he didnt saw her for one whole decade. the prince buried his head on his sister and hugged her even tighter which the princess hugged her back the same. "i thought you're gonna be out the whole week."

princess sungkyung could only giggled upon seeing how cute and clingy his little brother was. "come on, how could i miss my little prince's engagement?"

the prince freed the hug and the moment he did, his sister slid her both hands to cupped the prince's both cheeks and squeezed it like she used to. the prince may be finally grown up than he was before, but in princess sungkyung's eyes, her highness, her prince was still a baby. a baby who needs protection at all costs to the point that there was a time, she blamed herself why did she become a woman instead of a guy who could protect her little brother more than anyone could. 

but the realization hits her when their mother, the queen passed away and she automatically stood as the prince's mother at the same time an older sister for him. which made her soon enough accept that she's thankful that she is a woman, because a baby like the prince needed a mother-like care. 

prince seokmin rolled his eyes. "shut it noona, why did you even mentioned that." then he pulled away his body as he went back from sitting on his bed and the princess followed him.

the princess pursed her lips. "you still dont get it do you?"

the prince froze on his spot after hearing that question from his sister as his mouth automatically shuts like as if he was a mute. he was acting this way not because he doesn't know what to say nor what to answer from his sisters questions, but because he didnt saw it coming that their one of the rarest talk could lead into this way, could lead into where they are going to talk about that engagement.. finally happening tomorrow. tomorrow that his freedom wouldn't be the same as he used to have, tomorrow that he will be getting engage to the person he sworn to himself he hates the most. 

and though he is well convinced enough that the king did this was because of this nation's future, and for him also... he still didnt know if this was the right thing to do, or if this would be the solution to have a better and bright future ahead of the both reasons why he have to. because no matter how he thought his future might be, he couldn't imagine that he would be sharing those with joshua. or maybe, he couldn't for real knowing his heart was beating for someone else and joshua wasn't the one he pre-imagined his future with.

seokmin blinked thrice and swallowed hard. "i did.. its just, do i really have to do this? and is it really have to be me? i wasn't even the one who would reign after father, its you."

the princess smiled as she went even closer to the prince then she reached for his both hands and held it like a mother does. she knows enough seokmin needed this kind of touch mostly right now that father somewhat forced him to do the things she knows seokmin doesn't like. 

she rubbed seokmin's hands. "my highness, reigning the nation or having the throne or not, father will always gonna choose you. its not because he doesn't love you that he could easily give you to someone else.. but because he just want to protect you, keep you safe and he was just thinking of your future so he wouldn't gonna worry about it that much."

"but i can handle myself all along, noona. i have my eunuch, i have my bodyguards with me. i have these people inside the palace, the army, the navy. and i got you." then the prince pouted enough for the princess to giggled seeing how cute his little brother was. 

sungkyung extended her hand as he pinched seokmin's left cheek while giggling. "my little prince is so innocent. for sure joshua would had a hard time soothing you."

"noona."

the princess giggled again. "my highness, joshua is kind, he's sweet, ive known him enough. maybe as of the moment you both have a beef with each other but if you got to know him better, he's just like you..." oh yes, the princess knew there's something off between the two of them and also she knew both joshua and seokmin was left no choice but to get engaged. "and father did not hesitate to choose him for you, not because he is his best friends son, but because he believes in joshua. he can protect you, keep you safe, and mostly, he can love you. give joshua a try, your highness."

that made the prince rolled his eyes. "maybe he can literally protect me and keep me safe, but love me? noona, are you out of your mind?" he sounded like what his noona said was one of the funniest things she ever told. 

"why though? is there something wrong about what ive said? its not even impossible that that guy can fell for you. and its not also imposible he can make you forget your feelings for that best friend of yours."

"noona!"

yes part two, almost everyone inside the palace knew that the prince has a special feelings for the son of the current president, his best friend, kwon soonyoung... even the king does, but he was respecting the prince privacies and decision of not telling it to the president nor to even directly to soonyoung and though he tried taking soonyoung away from his real boyfriend, lee jihoon, but he just couldn't do it knowing how close jihoon and prince seokmin was. even the princess, the bodyguards, personnel and his eunuch did the same. 

and yes, you'll know where the prince inherited his kind and angel-like personality. truly, it comes from where it started. 

the princess laughed. "no kidding, though..." and that made seokmin rolled his eyes again which the princess found interesting that joshua and the prince hates each other. "you should rest my prince, tomorrow's gonna be one of your biggest days."

"i hate him." seokmin utter in a firm way like as if he was engraving those on the stone. 

engraving those on the stone when in fact, he remembered all too well what he've said to joshua the last time, that the latter should bought a ring that was able to remind him that being engage with him was the worst.. because maybe, not now but in the further future, he might see himself falling in love with joshua.
