"You look ravishing," I heard a dark voice say from behind me. I yelled and whirled around.
"Lucian!" I yelped. "You scared the life out of me."
He backed up smiling, "I was just complimenting you." he chuckled and backed up.
I rolled my eyes and turned back to the closet, I had two options for dresses that I liked.
I took the light blue dress off it's hanger and slipped into it. I turned to Lucian and saw him looking at me, he then walked past me and grabbed a light blue suit. Matching the colour of my dress.
I rolled my eyes at him and turned to the bathroom. I looked at the mirror once more, looking over my reflection. My red hair was a beautiful contrast to the blue.
I turned back into the room and saw Lucian slipping on black dress shoes. He stood up and fixed his shirt.
"Ready my lady?" He extended his arm. I smiled and hooked my arm in his.
I nodded as he led me out of the room.
We walked down the hall to the room where we had met the king and queen hours before. I heard light music wafting from the room, two armed guards standing outside. I smiled at them as Lucian only grimaced.
We pushed open the doors to find more people than I had seen in the room before.
"Oh my darling!" I heard the voice of Teressa. "You look stunning!"
"Thank you," I smiled warmly at her. "You look amazing as well."
And she did, she was in a light grey dress with a high collar. Glowing gems beaded onto it. The blonde hair was twirled in a tight bun.
"And you look good as well," she turned to Lucian.
He just grumbled. I jabbed his side with my elbow. He cursed under his breath.
Teressa laughed at the interaction between us.
"I'm going to go get us drinks," I said before walking off. I walked to a table with snacks and flutes of alcohol.
I picked up a clear glass or liquide and sipped it lightly. It tasted like honey, it was better than the stuff they had in Mortem. All hard and burning liquids there.
"Glad to see you again," a man's voice said from beside me. I turned and saw a more presentable version of Arthur.
I put down my glass and wrapped my arms around him, "I should have some to say hello sooner!" I exclaimed.
He chuckled and stepped back, "It's alright. You've only been here for a bit over a day."
"It's only been that long?" I asked, raising my eyebrow in surprise.
"I got to say that this place is a lot better than Mortem," I chuckled.
He nodded back to me, "Yeah it has a lighter feel to it, and there's less screaming."
"Way less," I laughed.
I felt a hand brush my neck, I turned around but no one was there. Another phantom touch and I put the pieces together. I rolled my eyes and huffed.
"What's wrong?" Arthur asked.
"Lucian is making shadow hands and messing with me," I huffed. "I'm going to go see what the needy boy wants."
"Okay, we'll talk later!" Arthur called before I walked away.
I made it over to Lucian with two drinks in hand, I walked over to the wall where Lucian was leaning against.
