I felt the serenity behind me. And at the same time mumbled the words. . .

Saul's POV

Today was such a long day. Ilang oras na akong naka upo rito sa swivel chair ko. I've been on a one-on-one meeting with some hard-headed man. Who wants to invest in some of my businesses regarding the surface. Out of 9 people, I only approved 3 of them.

I would have my last meeting today, pero saad ni Tulio nasa banyo pa raw ang ka meeting ko kaya may ilang minuto pa ako magpahinga. Tumayo ako at tiningnan ang kinaroroonan ni Romano.

There I saw her reprimanding some newbies. Simula no'ng humingi siya ng tulong sa lolo at ama niya biglang gumanda ang takbo ng mga trabahante ko rito sa HQ. Marami ring spoiled brats ang dumating at isang iglap lang bigla silang tumino.

It was really out of Romano's league to help my almost dying HQ, but she still insisted on helping me. Aniya naaawa raw siya sa akin na baguhan lang.

I was insulted, hardly, but she was right.

Now to think just in a few months my HQ and other business were all blooming. Araw-araw nakikita kong nagtatahi si Romano, araw-araw din kasing may dagdag employee sa HQ ko. Meaning to say, magtatagal pa siya sa teritoryo ko. Hindi ko na kailangan pang mag-alala sa kaniya dahil marami na siyang bataan sa loob ng HQ.

Not just that, but she was feared by many knowing that she has the blood of a Romano.

I was intently looking at her scrunch up face nang nakita kong tumalon papunta sa akin si Jaguar Paw.

"Not now," wika ko habang tinapik-tapik ang ulo nito.

Romano caught me staring at her, and right now, I saw her glaring at me as she pulled down the blinds.

Kalauna'y may nakita akong isang babae na papalapit sa akin. Sobrang sopistikada nito, masasabi mo na galing siya sa isang marangyang pamilya.

"It's good to see you, Mr. Alvarez," bati niya at inabot niya ang kamay niya sa akin. "Shall we go inside?"

I've concluded that she was the last person who I've got a meeting with. Pumasok na kami sa loob at umupo na ako sa swivel chair. Jaguar Paw wasn't with me anymore, bumalik na siya kung saan nandoon ang totoo niyang amo.

I waited for the sophisticated woman to sit when I saw her cover the glass with the blinds. Nagtaka ako sa ginawa niya. Pagkatapos niya 'yong ginagawa tsaka rin siya umupo.

'Di ko mapigilang tumaas ang kilay ko no'ng umupo na siya. Pinakilala niya ang kaniyang sarili sa akin at inilahad niya rin ang kaniyang layunin.

"I want to invest in all of your businesses." I waited for her to continue. "including the surface and the underworld. In that way, you wouldn't be bothered by the bad circumstances you have faced. You won't only gain some money here, but you will also gain the favor of the underworld," puno niya.

Nanliit ang mga mata ko. She was the first one to offer me something like this. It was different from Ace's.

"It's as if you're saying you want to run my businesses," walang emosyon kong sabi.

Humalakhak siya. "It's just an investment Mr. Alvarez, hindi naman masama ang in-offer ko. Once I gain the first share of all the money I invested I will provide you a plane."

Napatingin ako sa kaniya. Plain?

"Plain?"

Nakita ko naman na kumunot ang noo niya maya-maya lang ay tumaas ang gilid ng labi niya. "Eroplano, or you want some private jet?"
