I was dumbfounded after seeing that man, but the hatred and anger arise again after burying them. Doctor din siya?! Teka, bakit parang nagulat ako? Maybe that is how my Mom and... Dr. Bermudez met. At Vice President pa ng hospital.

Now, I'm starting to hate my surname.

Dr. Anselmo Bermudez, as what written on his coat.

"So, this is Professor Soriano, he's the famous surgeon of that Awake Surgery," pakilala nito sa mga stockholder din, probably doctors also.

"The heir of St. Mary Magdalene hospitals," the doctor greeted Sage, which made him uncomfortable. "Congratulations!"

"I was nothing without the help of my team," sabi ni Sage. "I also share that achievement with them. Apparently, Dra. Bermudez here was one of the doctors of that surgery."

"Congratulations, Dra. Bermudez," the other greeted as I gave him a smile and a nod.

"I recognize you, Dra. Addison Bermudez," I heard one of the doctors, who approached me. "I was impressed with your thesis. You're a Pediatric Neurosurgery. Who or what is your inspiration?"

"Just my mom, Dra. Diana Castro," I smiled confidently. The old man looked away. Ha, take that, asshole.

"You're Diana's daughter?" I heard the other man approached me. "That's why you look familiar to me! You two look identical! Diana is really famous during our time. She's a monster with a million-dollar hands. Now, I guess the baton was now passed to her daughter."

I smiled humbly. "I think no one could ever replace my mom. Not even me, as her own daughter."

I admit that I took inspirations from her by watching her surgery tapes, which thankfully, she still had. I was amazed. I'm not saying this as a daughter, but as a doctor. At nai-aapply ko siya sa mga pasyente ko ngayon.

"You are now, claim it!" sabi niya pa. "You have a million-dollar worth ability. I think, this generation will have another Diana Castro."

I smiled.

I'm not replicating my mom, but that million-dollar ability was a fact. Not bragging, but I think it's worth a flex when I worked hard for it.

"I also read the last part of your thesis, where there's an Andi, who's your inspiration," sabi ng doctor. Parang nanlamig ang sikmura ko lalo na at katabi ko lang si Sage.

"Yeah, she's... one of the people that keeps me going," I smiled as I thought of my daughter. "So... she's my inspiration in everything that I do."

"And the hospital's honored to have one of the sought-after doctors of Switzerland to work for us. Imagine, malaki ang kita d'yan. Doctors earn 16 million francs a year. Then, with you as a famous doctor, surely you have a higher salary." singit nung isa.

I smiled a bit. "Thank you. It was such a pleasure."

Iyon na lang ang nasabi ko bago pa ako makapagsabi ng hindi magandang salita. What a bunch of capitalists.

"Well, we'll go ahead now," sabi sa amin. "I'll see you again and it was nice meeting you, Dra. Bermudez."

I smiled and bowed a bit.

"Still a bunch of capitalists," Dr. Tuazon sighed as I realized that he's now standing on my side.

"I nearly barfed," I mumbled. "Anyway, I'll go ahead."

"Where are you going?" sabay na tanong ni Sage at Dr. Tuazon. I frowned.

"I'll go home. It's the end of my duty," I answered as I sashayed my way to my office to grab my stuff and go home.
