"Guys, maybe we can hangout this weekend," pag-aaya ni Irina habang nakalingkis ang kamay sa braso ko.

Kakatapos niya lang kasi kumain kaya imbes na bumalik sa trabaho, nakiupo siya sa amin ni Sage. Sage and I finished an operation with me as his assistant kaya sabay na rin kaming kumain at dahil nag aya rin kasi siya.

"Straight duty ako hanggang Monday. Ayain mo si Sage," sabi ko.

"I also have a duty as well. Maybe next time, Irina," sabi ni Sage sa kanya.

"Aw, sayang," she pouted. "Sige, next time!"

Sabay-sabay na kaming tatlo na tumayo dahil natapos na rin kami sa pagkain. I did my last rounds for today before going home.

"Uuwi ka agad, Dr. Bermudez?" I heard Sage. Lumingon ako sa kanya at magkatabi lang ang kotse namin. "'Kala ko ba papanoorin mo pa akong maghubad?" a mischievous smirk flashed on his lips.

"Gago!" I flipped him off saka ako sumakay sa kotse ko at umalis.

Because of the disaster from yesterday, inagahan ko na ang pasok ko para hindi ako ma delay sa morning rounds ko. Stupid of me to not set the alarm. Yesterday's rounds was a disaster and I don't want to repeat it again.

"Good morning, Dr. Bermudez," the junior residents greeted as I passed by.

"Good morning," I mumbled as I focused on checking the patients records. "Okay everyone, who's coming with me for the rounds?" I faced the residents and they quickly raised their hand.

"Good morning, Dr. Bermudez," I heard Sage's greeting me. Naiirita ako lalo dahil pigil-pigil ang ngisi niya.

"Bad morning," I responded to him before turning around to walk away, together with my residents.

"Okay, now how do you feel, sweetie?" malumanay kong tanong sa bata. I operated her yesterday and it's a case of a gelastic seizure.

"I'm okay na po," she smiled like a confident little warrior.

"Is your head still painful, baby?" I asked, caressing her chin a little.

"A little po," she answered.

"Observe her every two hours to see if there's a slight improvement," I ordered. "Don't forget her medications- who's handling this case?"

A resident raised her hand at me and I nodded at her.

"Take note of that," sabi ko. "What did I just ordered?"

She recited to me with all confidence and when I asked what medications, she answered right away. I have no favorites among the juniors, but I guess I found one. So efficient. The others are too, but, I guess due to the workload, their mind was too clouded.

"Excellent," I complimented.

After finishing the rounds, another wave of patients surprised me, so instead, I instructed the juniors to assist the other patients. Luckily, it was easy for us to assist them since the casualties were separated. From the dead to the minor injuries.

"Doctora," I heard someone from the trauma room called me. I looked around and I saw a resident walking towards the ER's entrance.

"You, assist this one!" utos ko bago ako pumasok sa Trauma Room.

"How's the patient?" I asked and the doctors answered me right away. "Keep the patient stabilized."

After that long process of cleaning and dressing the wound to the lower extremities, the plastics ordered a CT for the head and MRI and X-ray for the entire body. If they found a head injury, I'll also do the surgery.
