Chapter 46

I was frowning the entire time. Why I wasn't aware of this vacation?

"Bakit a few weeks?" tanong ko habang papunta kami sa parking lot. "Sinabi ko sa head na pag magaling na si Diana, saka ako babalik sa trabaho. Sobra naman ata 'yon."

"There's nothing too much for my family," Sage said. "They deserve the best."

His family, huh?

"Your family, huh?" I raised him an eyebrow. "You said you don't want a kid?"

"Before. But not anymore," aniya.

I stopped then unlocked the car as Sage placed Diana at the back and strapped her to her seat. Sinara niya rin yung kotse saka tinukod ang braso at tumingin sa akin.

"But now? I want kids," sabi niya. "With you."

Nagulat pa ako sa sinabi niya. Kids? He must be out of his mind. Aba, sinong nagsabing susundan si Diana? Is he crazy?

"Ewan ko sa'yo!" iyon na lang ang nasabi ko. "Saan ba kakain?"

"Lead the way, pretty," he said that made my cheeks heat. I rolled my eyes as I made my way to my seat. I drove to the closest Korean restaurant. I suddenly craved for a samgyupsal.

Umorder agad si Sage ng pagkain namin. Kakaorder lang at agad kaming nabigyan ng mga karne na lulutin. Mayroon din melted cheese, kimchi, samjang, even the hot pot, mayroon din, then some lettuce and other sides.

"Was ist das?" Diana asked, pointing to what her father was cooking.

"Samgyupsal," I told her. "Es ist ein koreanisches Essen. Du wirst es mögen."

Nang naluto na yung karne, Sage put some meat on my plate then on Diana's. I even taught her how to eat the samgyupsal in a wrap.

"Wie ist das?" I asked.

"Lecker, Mama," she said.

I smiled as I continued to eat. Diana enjoyed it with the rice as she eats. I watched her dip the meat on the melted cheese.

"Wie Fondue, Mama!"

I nodded at her while smiling.

Nakailang ulit kami hanggang sa mabusog. Sage was the one who paid for the meal before leaving. God, the smell must've stuck on our clothes. I strapped our daughter on her seat as she waited inside.

"I want to see her tomorrow," sabi ni Sage pagkaharap ko sa kanya.

I nodded. "Okay. May sasabihin ka pa?"

"I'll go with you tonight," aniya. "I'll just follow."

"Pwede namang bukas na lang. Itetext ko na lang sa'yo yung address kung nasaan kami ngayon."

"No, I insist. I want you two safe."

Wala na akong nagawa at tumango na lang. Sumakay na kaming dalawa sa kanya-kanya naming kotse saka ako nagmaneho pauwi.

The gates opened as I parked my car there. Pagbaba ko, agad kong kinuha si Andi sa likod saka binuhat dahil nakatulog na rin.

"Let me carry her," Sage said as I gave our daughter to him. Pumasok na kami sa loob ng bahay at nag elevator na lang dahil nakakapagod umakyat.

I opened the door as Sage enters inside then laid our daughter on the bed.

"I'll just change her clothes," sabi ko saka kumuha ng damit sa cabinet sa walk-in closet. Sage again lifts her up before I took her clothes off and change her to sleepwear.

"Gute nacht," I whispered as I kissed her forehead. Sage does the same then he silently closed the door.

"Hindi kami tabi matulog dahil gusto kong masanay siyang natutulog mag-isa," I explained. "As you can see, sanay naman siya..."
