3rd POV

"Why is it so hard to find potatoes in a grocery store?"

Fries groaned as he wandered around, the potatoes nowhere in sight.

"Just look better!"

His "friend" Yellow Face would encourage him over the phone, but Fries was obviously losing hope.

"I've been looking for the past hour and a half-"

"Exc-use me?"

Fried turned around, almost whacking the employee in the face as he did. Her name tag read Pin, she/her pronouns listed underneath.

"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry. Did you need something?"

The employee chuckled politely, her ponytail bouncing with her laughs. Fries quickly hung up his call. Yellow Face was much less important right now.

"I was go-ing to ask the same thing! You-'ve been wan-der-ing a-round for a while."

Fries looked away bashfully.

"Uuhhhh yeah, I was just looking for the potatoes?"

It was embarrassing, Fries was aware, but the employee showed no judgement.

"Ah! Of course! The po-ta-toes are strange-ly hard to find. Let me guide you!"

Fries felt his face heat when Pin grabbed his wrist, guiding him to the appropriate section. As they passed the isles, he felt his post-work drowsiness almost dissipate.

"Here we are!"

Fries smiled as the two stopped by a tray of potato bags, Pin gesturing to it playfully.

"We've rea-ched our des-tin-ation!"

Fries couldn't help but giggle at the employee's childish reaction. He wasn't complaining though.

"Thanks a lot."

Pin smiled brightly.

"Just do-ing my job!"

As Fries analysed the potato bags, he couldn't help but notice that Pin was lingering in the area. Their conversation felt unfinished, like a half-eaten meal.

"Hey."

Pin looked up from a couple metres away, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"Yeah?"

Fries popped the potatoes in his basket before making his way to Pin. He scratched the back of his neck.

"Your name is Pin, right?"
