3rd POV

The plane.

No, no, no, not the plane, not anymore...

A field. The field by Liam's childhood home.

His family, his friends, his home.

The world stood ahead of him. People he knew and people he didn't. Things that had been discovered and were yet to be. The field swayed to a beat that Liam couldn't bother to keep up with as he carefully moved forward.

The flicks and twists of the grass batted more and more harshly against his legs with every step he took. Just as he reached forward, he fell.

An ocean – but unlike any he had seen.

A void – no one but him lingered within.

He... He couldn't breathe.

No, no, this couldn't be happening again. Liam thrashed in the gentle grip of the water around him.

"My son?" Echoed the distressed voice of his mother. "No... he can't be dead. I... No!"

Liam reached in the direction of the voice, his throat growing tight.

"What do you mean Liam's dead?" Owen, no, no, not Owen. "He- He can't be!"

His thrashing became more desperate, his throat raw from screams unheard.

"Liam..." Spoke a heartbroken voice, trembling with every word. "Please come back..."

Amelia.

Liam felt the air pour out of his lungs like an overflowing dam as he sunk into the endless abyss wrapping around him.

"Liam!"

He shot up from the mattress, gasping for air. Amelia watched worriedly from her bed, hair tousled but eyes wide open.

"Liam, are you alright?"

Her voice was soft – hushed – and Liam couldn't be more thankful for it. His eyes were teary, and he couldn't stabilise his breathing.

"A-melia?" He called into the darkness.

The candle stumbled out of her bed, shuffling her way over to Liam's, then gently grasping his hand.

"I'm here." She whispered. "Another nightmare?"

He nodded, staring to the side as he wiped his eyes.

"Hey, don't look so dreary", she muttered. "Come. I'll take you somewhere nice."

She helped the backpack out of bed, still holding his hand as they exited the bedroom of their house. They had purchased a house together after the events of ONE so that they could get away from everything for a while. Bryce also lived with them, but in a separate section of the building.

"Where are we going?" Liam croaked, his voice sluggish with sleep.

"You'll see, and I promise it'll help too."
