Wuxian spent the next few days writing out his copies for his punishment. He would go to the lecture first, but be extremely bored, and then after lunch he would head straight to the library to work. He knew that he would be supervised during his punishment, but like last time, it was Lan Zhan. Though Wuxian could have guessed it to be him, he thought maybe it would be someone else. Of course, Lan Zhan would have him work on his copies at the Jingshi at night until 9 P.M. for going to sleep.

Wuxian has been having a hard time lately though. The resentment energy was getting to him. At first he thought it was because Cloud Recesses was just so heavy with Yang Energy, it was causing the Yin energy within Wuxian to flare up. That wasn't the case, since the Wen Sect came strolling in, Wuxian could sense a bit of resentment nearby. He even caught sight of one of the Wen Sect's Dire Owls flying around. He knew he had to make that own disappear, as they were only to help them spy.

Late one night, just an hour or so past midnight, Wuxian quietly grabbed his flute and sword and left the Jingshi and went to the back hills of Cloud Recesses. Wuxian knew this was a big risk, and if caught, he could get a more severe punishment than writing. He had to figure out why the resentment energy was too much on him all of a sudden. He even sent a message to his martial uncles in Caiyi Town to let them know that the resentment energy is flaring up on him. A message from them a couple days later said they would send a message to Baoshan and see if she has a solution. For the time being, Wuxian decided to get rid of that dire owl, which was filled with resentment.

Even though it was hard to see, he could sense the owl was nearby. He closed his eyes and focused in on all his senses to relax himself and really let his senses lead him to the owl. Once he got the direction, Wuxian immediately unleashed some black tendrils and let the thick resentment he was exhausting wrap itself around the owl, trapping it within a circle of resentment; almost like a cage. Wuxian soon started to shrink the cloud or resentment around the owl to suffocate it. The more it choked on the energy, the more the owl started to relax its body. When the owl went limp, Wuxian pulled it close to him and tossed it on the ground. He unsheathed Suibian and sliced the owl in half, making it turn to dust.

Now that the owl was gone, he had to think of an excuse if he got caught all the way out here, in the middle of the night. Knowing that he sleep walks, he decided to use that. He used his immortal abilities to flash his flute and sword back to the Jingshi where he left them before he left. Wuxian then took in the environment he was in, not only to make sure he was alone, but to check to see what was around him and then laid down on the ground. He closed his eyes and actually managed to doze off to sleep. He didn't know how long he was sleeping there when he felt a on his shoulder, gently shaking him to wake him.

Wuxian let out a groan, "let me sleep," he begged, turning to his side. Remembering what he did earlier that night, he realized he must have been caught. His eyes shot open and he sat up quickly, "Huh? Where am I?"

"Wei Wuxian?" said a familiar voice. Wuxian slowly looked around him before turning to the direction of the voice. It was very early in the morning, the Sun was not quite ready to peak from the horizon yet.

"Xichen? Where are we?" Wuxian asked, "Why are we in the middle of the woods?"

"I was going to ask you that same question, why are you in the middle of the woods...Unarmed at that?" Xichen asked as a response to his question, as he helped Wuxian stand up.

"I must have been sleepwalking," Wuxian responded, "It is a habit I've had since I was little. It freaks my grandmother out from time to time because she witnessed me doing some dangerous things while sleepwalking. I am very sorry. I must have ended up here somehow and collapsed here."

"It's alright," Xichen said with his hand holding Wuxian's arm to keep him steady, "Wangji did tell me something about that. Plus, he woke up an hour ago and didn't see you in the house so he was worried and asked me to help find you. Why don't we get to you the healers just in case you did hurt yourself why sleep walking?"

Wuxian nodded only to keep up on his act to avoid suspicion. Xichen guided Wuxian to the infirmary and helped Wuxian relax on a bed in one of the rooms before going to fetch a healer to check him over. The healer didn't find any marks or anything out of the ordinary on Wuxian and said he can rest here until morning.  Xichen told Wuxian that he will speak with Wangji about finding Wuxian, and he will be back at the Jingshi after he spends the rest of his night at the infirmary. Wuxian only slept a couple more hours before 5 A.M. bell. Wuxian got up after 5 A.M. bell and went back to the Jingshi only to see Lan Zhan meditating at the table with a tea set in front of him. Lan Zhan felt Wuxian's presence the moment he entered the building. He opened his eyes and looked at Wuxian with slight concern.

"Sorry for making you worry, Lan Zhan, that was not my intention....." Wuxian said looking down at the floor.

"Wei Ying," Lan Zhan called out. Wuxian slowly looked up and glanced at Lan Zhan, "It is okay. Xiongzhang told me about you sleep walking. I am upset I did not hear you."

"Don't be," Wuxian said, almost interrupting him, making Lan Zhan look at him with wide eyes, "I mean, as told from my grandmother, it took her a while before noticing that I was sleepwalking. She said I tend to be quiet when I sleepwalk, but once she catches me, all she does is make sure I do not hurt myself in the process."

After saying, hurt himself, Wangji stood up and approached Wei Ying, "Are you hurt anywhere?"

"No, Xichen took me to the infirmary when he found me. I am unharmed," Wuxian assured him.

"Do I need to give you a bell at night so if you do sleep walk again I will hear?" Wangji asked.

Wuxian couldn't help but laugh, "I did not know you cared for me this much," Wuxian said, "the only other person who ever showed so much care is my grandmother."

"You are my roommate and classmate," Wangji stated, "You are also a guest here at Cloud Recesses, it would give Gusu a bad reputation, to send you back home harmed."

"Oh," Wuxian nodded, "So not a friend yet huh?"

Wangji gave Wuxian a small glare as his ears started to turn pink. Wuxian started to notice and realized Lan Zhan blushed with his ears. He found that very adorable. He then just watched Wangji walk past him and leave the Jingshi. Wuxian stood there for a moment wondering if he would ever get anywhere with this man. He was starting to wonder if he should continue trying to be his friend or let him be.
