Entropy (WANGXIAN FanFic)

Cold Frost & Gentle Breeze

Wangji stood behind Wuxian as they waited for the door to open. He has heard some information about the two who they are meeting. Song Lan, known to be 'Distant snow and cold frost' while his partner, Xiao Xingchen was known as 'bright moon and gentle breeze.' The two were a different but complemented each other.

When the door opened, a man in white robes with black under robes opened the door. He looked fair and slightly petite. He has a gentle facial structure and his eyes gave off a sense of calmness.

"A'Chen," Wuxian greeted.

"A'Xian, you finally made time to stop by," the man said, "A'Lan and I were beginning to think you forgot about us."

"I could never!" Wuxian argued in a playful tone, "it was just hard to find time."

The man smiled a bit then took a glance at Wangji, "this is?"

"Ah, this is my soulmate Lan Wangji," Wuxian greeted.

Wangji was a bit surprised that Wuxian would be open to saying that to others. It made Wangji's heart flutter more, and warm his heart.

"Pleasure to meet you, I am Lan Zhan, courtesy name Wangji," he greeted, "younger brother to sect leader, Lan Xichen."

"Pleasure to meet you too," Xingchen greeted and lead them inside.

The cabin was cozy, just perfect for the two who lived there. In the center, a cozy fireplace and a table not far from it to enjoy meals and tea. A space closed off for the kitchen on the left of the cabin, and to the right of the cabin, a staircase leading to the bedroom on the second floor. A few feet from the bottom of the stairs was a door leading to the backyard. There, was their garden and secluded area for the injured and sick animals that Song Lan brought home to treat.

"You two settled in quite nicely I see," Wuxian said as he sat at the table.

Xingchen gathered ingredients for tea and sat next to Wuxian on his right, while Wangji sat on the left.

"We are making due," A'Chen stated, "I spend more time doing night hunts, Song Lan follows and helps but he usually finds an injured animal to care for."

"It's all in his nature to do so," Wuxian stated, "where is he anyway?"

"Probably in the garden or checking the injured animals," A'Chen answered.

Wuxian nodded, "by the way, you said night hunts, is there anything happening that we should know about?"

"There have been puppets roaming further south from here," A'Chen answered, "Lan and I even dealt with water ghouls here recently. Maybe two days ago."

"Why didn't you send me anything?" Wuxian asked, "I have been having flare ups on my resentful energy. And a dire owl from the Wen clan was spotted as well. They are up to something."

Xingchen nodded, "I will next time, that's a promise, and I will send a message to Baoshan to let her know."

"Speaking of, do you think she would be okay with a visitor after the study session is over?"

"You mean, for her to meet Second Master Lan?" Xingchen asked, "she would be delighted to meet him. Knowing her, she probably already knows or suspected it to some degree. She tends to know things before we do."

"Would you be willing to ask for me?" Wuxian asked.

"Of course," Xingchen nodded.

"Lan Zhan," Wuxian said looking at him, "We should tell your brother about the events happening in the area. As it is Gusu."

"Mm, will tell him when we return," Lan Zhan answered.

"Would you two like to go outside? See the animals, I believe some of them are getting released today," Xingchen asked.

"Sure, Lan Zhan?" Wuxian said.

Lan Zhan nodded and followed the two out. When they made it to the little sectioned off area, there were mostly rabbits. There were some fawns that were left abandoned after separated from it's mother. Lan Zhan seemed to be in complete bliss when a little black bunny came up to him. It was fully recovered and seemed to want his attention. Lan Zhan could not help but to kneel down and gently pick up the bunny. He held it with the utmost care and gently pet it. The rabbit seemed to be very relaxed with him.

"Seem's you have made a new friend," A man in gray and black robes stated.

Lan Zhan looked at the man and seemed to know that he was to be Song Lan. Wangji nodded and introduced himself, "I am Lan Zhan, courtesy name, Wangji. I am Wei Ying's soulmate."

"It is nice to meet you Lan er Gongzi, I am Song Lan," he greeted, "it's good to know that A'Xian found someone." Wangji nodded. The little bunny in his arms seemed to be all to comfortable with him at this point. He wondered if it would allow him to leave, "This little bunny you are holding, it was too young and abandoned when I found him. He is unable to go back to the wild as it cannot defend itself. Would you like to take him with you?"

Wangji wanted to, but pets were not allowed in Cloud Recesses. He knew he could get past it though, he had a private secluded space at The Jingshi where it can claim as his home and felt he could get past this rule.

"If it is alright with you," Lan Zhan said. 

"Of course, he seems fond of you," Song Lan stated and turned to Wuxian, "A'Xian, he has a brother, that white one you are holding. You should take him."

"Is it okay Lan Zhan?" Wuxian asked. Lan Zhan nodded. He will convince his brother some how to let them stay. They will remain at his place anyway. 

"What do you want to name them?" Song Lan said, "They were never named."

"Hmm?" Wuxian hummed and looked at his little white fluff ball, "I will go with, Xiaobao*."

"Daiyu*," Lan Zhan said. 

"You are both good with picking names," Song Lan stated, "I will be right back."

Song Lan left the two for a moment and went to speak with Xingchen.

"Lan Zhan, pets are not allowed in Cloud Recesses, how are we going to keep them?" Wuxian asked in a quiet voice and standing close to him.

"We will keep them at the Jingshi, there is a secluded space there for them, and I will convince Xiongzhang," Lan Zhan stated, "He has not ever declined me before, and he let me a break rule here and there in the past."

"Lan Zhan, oh Lan Zhan," Wei Ying said in a bit of surprise, "What rules did he let you break?"

"I had an pet when I was younger, they were not allowed then but he allowed it," Lan Zhan answered, "I have also ran in Cloud Recesses, and talked back to Shufu once or twin."

"You talked back to Grandmaster Lan!" Wuxian repeated in a bit of shock, "do I want to know why and what happened after that?"

"Maybe when we are back home I will tell you why, but he scolded me once and then punished me the next few times. After a while he realized that I am just too stubborn."

Wuxian couldn't help but laugh, "You amaze me more everyday, Lan Zhan," he said, "I adore you so much."

Lan Zhan felt his ears and cheeks get warm from Wei Ying's compliment. He was overjoyed by Wei Ying being his. The more he spent with him, the more he fell for him. He wanted to say that he loved him, but he felt it was not only too soon to say, but also didn't know if Wei Ying felt that way just yet. He knew that Wuxian cared from him and will do anything to make him happy, and Wangji will do the same for Lan Zhan.

The two spent some more time talking with Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan, had lunch and tea with them, and they even shared some stories about Wuxian to Wangji. Wangji couldn't help but coo at his soulmate on the inside. Hearing how he was just this happy-go-lucky little boy who loved to play when he was a kid. Despite losing his parents, he had his days where he felt alone, but he also had his days where he was overjoyed. 

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying eventually took their leave because they needed to get back to Cloud Recesses. Lan Zhan wanted to report to his brother about the puppets and ghouls that have been reported. He also wanted to make sure the little bunnies were to settle in their new home.
