The Yunmeng Jiang Clan, Qinghe Nie Clan, and the Gusu Lan Clan found a decent size area to set up camp. It was close to the battle destination and the three clans had tents settled, medical equipment, and other important things that they need. Baoshan, Xingchen, and Song Lan were also there, as they wanted to do what ever it took to get their A'Xian back.

Lan Zhan was out patrolling the area one evening. As he roamed, all he could think about was what Lan Yi said about his ring. Wei Ying made this ring, and it is all Yang Energy. How is the ring going to help? On the outskirts of the battle camp, Wangji could hear it, the tune that he played for Wei Ying, a Dizi off in the distance playing Wangxian. He had to at least try to see if he can speak with Wei Ying.

He hopped on his sword and and flew towards the direction of the flute's melody. It was clear when he ended up near a spring. It wasn't useful for cultivation or anything but it was beautiful no less. It was evening and the sun was going down. The sky turning a deep red-orange and fades to a deep blue as the sun sinks beyond the horizon.

Since Wangji had arrived to the spring, the flute's melody was no longer heard. Wangji scanned the environment but nothing and no one but him, was there. He knelt down and put his hand in the water of the spring, I was fairly warm. Wangji sat on the ground, took his boots off, and put his legs in the water of the spring. He felt a bit more relaxed, but he still had worry deep inside him.

"Wei Ying," He said to himself, "I wish I could do something, anything. I want you back. I miss your smile, your laugh, your smell, your body, everything."

Wangji sat there in silence for a little while after he spoke that. He could hear owls in the distance, and an occasional howl from a wolf or something similar to that nature.

"Fate," Wangji said, "it makes your life into a game. It gives you the most precious of things, only to rip it away from you. Why does fate make a soulmate a calamity?"

"Calamity?" A calm but eerie voice spoke. The voice lacked emotion, and sounded empty.

Wangji jumped to his feet and turned to the voice, "Wei Ying?"

"Lan Zhan, you should not be here. I am not who I was."

"I know, but I will find a way, Wei Ying," I told him.

"Why?" he asked, "I am your calamity, remember, and this yin energy, is mine. So in the end, I am already dead. You should leave, and forget about me. It is best that way."

"It is not, Wei Ying. My heart aches every second of every day, I can't sleep properly, I am forcing myself to eat, once a Lan falls in love, we never fall for anyone else, Wei Ying. So, tell me, how can I just forget everything, forget you, forget the love....Tell me Wei Ying? How do you expect me to forget?"

"That is for you to figure out," Wei Ying said and was about to turn to leave but stopped when Wangji spoke again, he was shocked at his words.

"If I am to forget you, then I have to be dead," He said, "If you want me to forget, then strike me down now, and kill me. I would rather be dead, then forget you!"

Wei Ying did not know how to respond. Inside he is fighting this Yin energy, demanding it to leave, he is in agony. Hearing those words from Lan Zhan made that agony much worse. He was fighting his own brain, and he can't make it stop. The group, Xichen, Qiren, the Jiang's, the Nie's, and Baoshan arrived only to witness their conversation and stood there in shock.

"Well," Wangji said dropping his sword and made him defenseless, the ring actually slipped off his finger and onto the ground. Wangji did not want to be in this position, he just wanted it all to end, "You will die if you go after Ruohan anyway, so I might as well die first."

"Lan Zhan, are you crazy?" Wei Ying asked stepping closer to him. Wangji did not move, he stood firm in his place, "Why would I be the one to kill you?"

"I have to be the one to kill you, and I can't do it," Wangji said, "I cannot kill someone I love."

Wei Ying let a smirk appear on his lips and looked down at the ring. He bent down and picked it up, "This little thing, it is sad that you talk poorly of yourself, that you want death as an easy way out," Wei Ying was face to face with Lan Zhan, "I cannot come back to you, Lan Zhan, I am to far gone," Wei Ying took Lan Zhan's hand and put the ring back on his finger, "I am sorry, Lan Zhan."

Wei Ying turned to leave. Wangji had tears falling down his face and rage started to boil under his skin, causing his ring to react. Wangji lashed out the whip and coiled it around Wei Wuxian. The Light emitting yang energy was like pins and needles to Wei Ying's skin. He growled and groaned gritting his teeth trying to fight the whip. It was no use, the more he fought, the more intense the Yang Energy took over. The Yang Energy was so strong it caused the amulet to reveal itself. Wangji then took Bichen and lunged it to the amulet, the clash of dark and light energy created a loud crack within the vicinity.

The group covered their ears and clenched their eyes shut, as the light was too blinding. When they opened their eyes, the amulet turned to dust and the resentment evaporated. The whip wrapped around Wei Ying was driving out the resentment, cleansing his body. He stopped groaning in pain after a minute of the whip clashing with the dark energy. Wei Ying's Chenqing, turned from its dark black jade, to a beautiful glistening white jade, and the carvings that had red etched it, was not the gusu lan sect blue, mixed with silver and gold. Wei Ying's eyes were no longer crimson, they turned ice blue.

Wei Ying had been cleansed entirely of the Yin energy. Wangji released the whip and let his emotions settle. He used so much energy cleansing Wei Ying, that he collapsed, thankfully, Xichen caught him in time before he hit the ground. Sitting on his knees holding onto his brother, he let Baoshan check his vitals.

"He should be alright, he just used a lot of energy just now," Baoshan informed, "Wei Ying created a new solution that we never knew...that ring...it is the best weapon my grandson had ever created. He is going to have a hard time trying to match that."

Wangji let a small smile appear on his lips and then turned his attention to Wei Ying. He was laid passed out from exhaustion of being exorcised of his demonic cultivation. With Wangji being so tired, he too passed out from exhaustion.
