After receiving news from Lotus Pier, they were given permission to come and see the Wens. Wen Qing said in the letter that she was excited for little A'Yuan and will make sure he is ready for when they arrive. Xichen decided to go with the two boys and neither of them had been to Lotus Pier. Baoshan decided to stay back at Cloud Recesses until they return so she could meet the young boy.
The three young cultivators flew on their swords until they reached the docks of Yunmeng. Wuxian was awestruck by the outgoing nature in Yunmeng. There was so much going on it seemed chaotic but it a fun and family friendly kind of way. When they were half way to the main entrance to Lotus Pier, Wei Ying froze in his tracks. His hands start trembling and his legs felt like jelly.
"Wei Ying? What is it?" Lan Zhan asked.
A bark came from the distance and Wei Ying screamed, "Lan Zhan!" He cried and jumped onto him. Lan Zhan barely had time to react but he caught his lover who jumped on him and held him bridal style in his arms, "D-d-d-dog-g," he stuttered.
Xichen had to do everything he could to keep himself from laughing at the two. Wangji although knew the reason for Wei Ying's fear of dogs, Xichen did not. It probably looked hilarious seeing a grown man jump into the arms of another because of a dog.
"Wow, a man who has faced dozed of cultivators at once is scared of one little dog," Xichen said.
"Xiongzhang, he was chased and terrorized by viscous dogs while he live on the streets before Baoshan took him in," Lan Zhan said defending his partner, "it may seem funny, but I don't find Wei Ying being terrified being funny."
"I know, I know," Xichen said trying to calm his brother down, "I don't mean to tease. The dog is further away."
"Wei Ying, the dog is gone," Lan Zhan said.
Before he could motion to put Wuxian down, he tightened his grip around Wangji, and shoved his face into the crook of his neck, "don't put me down! Please!" Wei Ying begged slightly in tears.
"Alright, I was carry you," Lan Zhan said with a gentle tone. Lan Zhan proceeded to carry Wei Ying until the reached the main entrance of Lotus Pier, "are you alright now?"
Wei Ying looked around his surroundings and then nodded when he saw he was safe, "thank you, and sorry."
"No need for those two sayings between us, Wei Ying," Lan Zhan said, "I will keep you safe and chase those dogs away if they try to come near you." Wei Ying smiled and nodded. Lan Zhan still held onto his lover's hand as they followed Xichen inside.
Once they reached inside the young boy, A'Yuan saw Wuxian and bolted to his arms, "Xian Gege!" A'Yuan greeted, "I heard your my new Baba."
"I am, and you now have Lan Zhan too," Wuxian pointed to Wangji.
"Is he Baba too?" The little boy asked.
"He can be ā-diē and I can be Baba," Wei Ying suggested and looked at Lan Zhan.
Lan Zhan knelt down to the boy and gave him a gentle smile, "hello, A'Yuan, I have heard a lot about you."
"It's nice to meet you," A'Yuan said and hugged Lan Zhan.
Lan Zhan stood while holding A'Yuan, "You are so cute," Wangji said to him, "Just like Baba."
"Aiya, Lan Zhan," Wei Ying cooed.
"Thank you A'Ying," Wen Qing said to him.
"You're Welcome, and I will make sure to have him visit as much as possible," Wei Ying told her.
"Thanks," Wen Qing said, "A'Yuan, please listen to your new ā-diē and Baba, okay."
"I will," A'Yuan said.
