A New Song of Cleansing

Wanagi - Spirits of departed human beings.

Wanagi was a song that I found to be of Native American history, and thought it was good for this fan fic.

The four main clans gathered to discuss the issues at hand, at the boundaries of Nightless City. The Jin Clan did not like hearing that Wuxian had destroyed the amulet and he had been cleansed and cleared of he crimes as he was influenced by resentful energy. Jin Zixun argued that it is not an excuse for killing numerous amount of people.

"You mean killing murderers, rapists and Wen's how beat and humiliated? He may have been influenced by resentment but he didn't kill unjustly and he was already cleared," Nie Mingjue argued in defense.

The Jin's didn't know what to say as they know it is true, but they had tried to continuously to convince others that Wei Wuxian was a danger to the clans and needed to be punished or put on trial. Nie Mingjue told him that it won't be necessary as he was voted by multiple clans, and other groups to be the next Chief Cultivator. It was the right choice as the man always knew what justice meant and did not take sides. He was given evidence and proof that Wei Wuxian was unable to control the energy and was no longer himself. Wuxian even agreed to be punished in some way if they wanted. They all agreed not to punish Wuxian, he was already self-blaming himself and filled with guilt that they felt was punishment enough.

It was only a few more minutes of them arguing think five year old before they were ambushed by Wen Ruohan's puppets. The puppets  were everywhere, they did not stop appearing once a group was taken care of. Wei Ying was happy that he was using his sword again and the the resentment has no affect on him anymore. He stood beside Wangji as they fought side by side. They were determined to get this done together safely.

"Lan Zhan, with only one Yin fragment, he made so much puppets," Wuxian stated, "half of which were not living before they turned to a puppet."

"We have to lure Ruohan out," Wangji said.

Wei Ying looked at his freshly cleansed Chenqing. He suddenly felt that he could do something, "Lan Zhan, I'm going on top the puller there, cover me, I have an idea I want to try."

Wangji nodded and did as Wei Ying said. Wuxian jumped to the pillar and pulled out Chenqing. He started playing a tune that he had never heard or played before. He just played it on instinct. The tune had an eerie feel to it, but there was also a gentleness to it as well.

The puppets within the vicinity stopped attacking the cultivators and started glowing into a white-yellow light. The light that was emitting was the puppets souls being soothed to rest and to be at peace. The puppets started to fade away as the light engulfed them. Once the body was completely gone, the light exploded like a firework, light sparkling flying everywhere causing the surrounding area to look like a sea of fireflies.

The group of cultivators were mesmerized by not only by the sight but also the sound of the melody Wuxian was playing. Wuxian stopped playing and went back to join his lover on the ground.

"That was incredible," Wangji told Wei Ying.

"I know, I didn't even think it was just out of instinct. It was like my soul knew what to do but my brain wasn't involved with the details. You have to take credit though, it was due to your cleansing," Wei Ying explained.

"Which goes back to you as you made the ring," Wangji argued back with a smile on his face.

Wuxian didn't know what to say...he was trying to give his partner a compliment but it turned to another praise back on himself. He was happy that his soulmate praised him but he wanted him to also take the credit he deserves. It was only moments later that Wen Ruohan stormed out of his palace furious.

"Who caused my Yin Iron to dissolve to dust?!" Ruohan yelled.

Wuxian smiled and hopped back on the pillar he was once on, "Clan Leaded Wen," he said, "it is nice to see you finally out to join the rest of the world."

"Who are you? And what did you do?" Ruohan spat.

"Ah, pardon me, I am Wei Wuxian, and I happened to cleanse the area just now," he said, "there was so much resentment it was hard to focus."

"Wei Wuxian? You are Cangse's boy?" He asked with a grin.

"Not really the point of the matter," Wuxian argued.

"Of course it is, you are here in front of me," he told Wuxian. He lifted his hand and forcefull pulled Wei Ying to his grasp, his hand around Wuxian's next, "we have some things to discuss."

With that being said, Ruohan took out a teleportation talisman and flashed them out of the area.

"Wei Ying!" Lan Zhan screamed and began to panic. He had just gotten his lover back and was taken right before his eyes. Baoshan pulled the boy into her arms to calm him down.

"I put a tracking Talisman on the inside of his robes. I know you are worried, but we will find him, I promise," Baoshan assured and comforted the young man in her arms, "he is strong so he won't let that man get away with it."

Wangji nodded and placed his head on her shoulder. Wangji had come to grow extremely fond of Baoshan. Despite her not liking but of the clans for personal reasons, she still loves Wangji as her grandson-in-law. He will always be thankful to her for allowing Wei Ying to study at Cloud Recesses, thankful for allowing him to love her grandson to the ends of the earth, and lastly, thankful for helping him with his cultivation. He loved her like as if she was his own mother or grandmother. He will always be grateful for her and Wuxian being in his life. So he had to believe her words and know that Wei Ying will be alright and they will find him.

What will happen to Wei Wuxian? Where was he taken, and will the other's be able find him with the tracking talisman Baoshan used?

Also, this chapter might be a bit shorter then others, but I felt like I should leave you all in suspense here for a little bit... 😂
