Wei Ying laid there with his eyes close for a few minutes. He was curled into a ball with his knees close to his chest and faced toward the open area of the Jingshi. As he laid there he heard others talking in a quieter tone, probably to not wake him. Even though it is forbidden to Eavesdrop in Cloud Recesses, it was kind of hard to follow that rule as other people were close enough in a confined space to talk.

It was Zewu Jun and Lan Zhan. Wei Ying laid there still pretending to sleep so he could hear their conversation. Hearing them speak of soulmates and toward the end of their conversation, he wondered if he heard what Lan Zhan Said correctly. Lan Zhan actually has an interest in him. It made Wuxian feel warm inside and was happy to hear his confession. He then, at that moment, decided to ease things slowly with Wangji. He wanted to do things right.

Just when Wuxian thought Lan Zhan wanted nothing to do with him and their relationship was going nowhere. He wondered what he should do. Lan Zhan was not good at expressing himself verbally, so he wanted to give Wangji a chance to really show him just how he feels through actions. He knows Lan Zhan to be a kind character, and he also knows that so many people misunderstood Wangji because of his cold appearance and lack of conversation. But Lan Zhan was just and honorable, he was kind and he was straightforward. Wuxian wanted to do something for Lan Zhan as well, and he will. He had many ideas flowing in his brain on just what to give him.

Wuxian's thoughts were cut short when he heard Lan Zhan speak, "Should we wake him, dinner will be served soon at the dining hall?"

"I will have someone bring food to you both, I think you both should talk at some point..." Xichen started to say.

Wuxian then ignored everything else when he heard that food would be brought to them. He heard the door close to the house, and decided to lay there for a few minutes to give Lan Zhan time to do what he needed to.

"Wei Ying," He heard Lan Zhan say in a whisper, "Forgive me for my lack of communication. I will try harder for you."

Wuxian did not need his apology. He did not want Lan Zhan to think he was doing anything wrong. He knows that Lan Zhan is someone who keeps to themself so he cannot blame him for anything. To make sure Lan Zhan said nothing else that could cause him to blame himself unnecessarily, Wuxian slowly rolled to his back and stretched out his arms. He did feel better after a nice nap. He opened his eyes and allowed his eyes to focus before turning his head to Lan Zhan. Wuxian pretended to look around a moment before he landed his eyes on Lan Zhan himself.

"Lan Zhan," Wuxian said quietly, "When did you get in?"

"Not long ago, half an hour maybe," he answered, "When did you fall asleep?"

"Ugh, I came back here right after the lecture," Wuxian said sitting up, "I was a bit overwhelmed about the random pop quiz I received today."

"Xiongzhang will speak with Uncle about that," Lan Zhan said, "I am sorry he did that."

Wuxian looked into Lan Zhan's golden eyes and smiled at him, "No need...I guess it's only because he wanted to know if I kept up with my studies and how well my grandmother taught me."

"You did well," Lan Zhan praised. That praise was something Wuxian was not sure would come from him. When Lan Zhan said he wanted to communicate better to Wuxian, he really meant it.

"Luckily I held my tongue for some of the answering," Wuxian said walking over to where Lan Zhan sat and sat across from him.

"What do you mean?"
