Wuxian and Wangji woke the next morning feeling much more refreshed. The traveling took a lot a energy from them but with proper rest, the energy was restoring as it should.
"After we set up the new ward, we should go to the cold spring for a while," Wangji suggested, "it would be useful to help gain our energy back fully."
"Sounds good to me," Wei Ying said as they made there way to the gate to set the new ward, "also, since I am making the ward I will be able to get in and out just fine, but there are disciples who don't have their headbands yet."
"We could use the Jade token as a backup," Wangji suggested, "even those without a headband in the clan, has a token, that is usually used to get in and out normally any way."
"That's probably not a bad idea," Wei Ying said.
He then took out a blank talisman, "I will clean it after but the headband needs a drop of your blood and mine so I can write out the spell."
Wangji nodded and removed his headband. He bit his finger to draw a small amount of blood and put it in the metal piece of the ribbon. Wei Ying did the same then linked he ribbon with to the talisman. Wangji ended up cleaning it before putting it back on. He then took out his Jade token and they repeated the process. With both of the links on the talisman, Wei Ying set up the ward. He set it all the way around the boundaries of Cloud Recesses and the back hills. He wanted to be thorough. Xichen and Qiren informed the rest of the clan of the headband and tokens for the new ward. After that was said, the four went to the dining hall for lunch.
Xichen then went to the library to pack up their scrolls and books that are most important. Wei Ying sent a message to Baoshan and told him that it was a smart idea to allow the books to remain with her until the Wen's have been taken care of and Cloud Recesses is safe. Baoshan teleported to Cloud Recesses to collect the Qiankun bags full of scrolls and books but wanted to see her grandson before leaving.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were at the training grounds to work on their swordsmanship. Wuxian and Wangji wanted to work on perfecting their personal sword dance. They sparred diligently and moved gracefully and precise. One made a move the other block with ease, and then made a move in return for it to be blocked again. Xichen and Qiren led Baoshan to their training grounds where the boys were. When they arrived, Qiren and Xichen had no idea who was overpowering who as they were so evenly matched. Baoshan, on the other hand, watched proudly as her grandson and his partner have been training as promised.
"Impressive huh?" Baoshan asked Qiren.
"I have to say yes they are well matched, but I don't think I have seen this style of sword fighting and technique before?"
"That is because A'Xian has his own personal sword techniques, he taught them to Wangji, and Wangji in returned, taught him Gusu sword techniques. They then took the two and crafted their own technique with them," Baoshan explained, "They are very smart young cultivators. So I have to say, You raised him well, Qiren."
"I only taught him what he should know and his brother taught him other things," Qiren stated trying to keep from being arrogant, "They are talented in their own way."
She nodded, "They are."
"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying yelled, "are you going to try your ring at all?"
"Why would I use it on you?" he asked.
"Because I want to see if I can defend against it, plus we have an audience, I am sure they would like to see the ring in action," Wei Ying told him.
Wangji smirked at him as he nodded. He then performed chord assassination using his ring. Wei Ying managed to dodge, and was happy to see how powerful his ring is that he made for Lan Zhan.
"Was that the ring?" Xichen asked.
"It is," Baoshan answered, "A'Xian is very smart and loves to craft and invent. He does get carried away sometimes though, as he sometimes forgets his personal needs when he works. He just gets too caught up with crafting because he loves it so much. When he is working, you pretty much have to bring food to him and demand he spend a few minutes to bathe and even spare time to sleep for a couple hours."
Back with Wei Ying and Lan Zhan, they were doing well with sparring. They eventually decided to stop and call it for the day. As they were heading to the three watching, Wei Ying waved to his grandmother to greet her. He then felt the bracelet on his wrist start to get hot. He found it to be extremely hot that he thought it was burning his skin. Wei Ying gripped his wrist and fell to his knees on the ground.
"A'Xian, what is it?" Baoshan asked kneeling beside him worried.
"The bracelet, it burns," Wei Ying said through his gritting teeth.
Baoshan lifted his sleeve to see that the bracelet was backfiring and was releasing resentment into Wei Ying. Wei Ying felt his entire body start to writhe in pain, and his core was hot. The thing was fearing the most, was happening to him. The resentment is too much for him, even the bracelet no longer helps and doesn't even work. He was turning demonic and he could feel the resentment fill his body. He felt his core being taken over and it could not contain the yang energy any more. His body no longer held yang energy. Wei Ying gripped the bracelet and tore it off of him. His skin was no longer the lively pink color it used to be, it was ash white.
The others kept their distance to give Wei Ying space. His eyes remained closed for a bit as his stood up from the ground. In a flash, his eyes opened and they were crimson. As they suspected, Wei Ying could no longer feel love. He only had hateful and evil intentions. He even lost his desire for Wangji in the midst of being taken control of the Yin energy.
"A'Xian," Baoshan said calmly.
Wuxian looked at her and gave her an evil smile, "Thank you for trying your best, but I am no longer the A'Xian you raised," He said pulling out a teleportation talisman and left in a flash.
"Wei Ying!" Wangji yelled after him then turned to the others. He realized he might have to use Bichen but he did not want to hurt him, "Baoshan, you have to think of something."
"I am sorry Wangji," Baoshan said sadly, "I could only find the one solution. Using a sword of pure Yang Energy can rid of the Yin Energy."
"He will die!" Wangji yelled.
"You don't know that," Baoshan said, "Yes you have to pierce the core with the sword, but we have to find him. If Ruohan gets him, it might turn worse."
Wangji did not know how to feel in this situation. The ward had just been set, the scroll were safe, and the threat of the Wen's to ambush was not the issue any longer. The new threat, was the love of his life, Wei Ying. His heart hurt, and he knows as soon as the other sects hear of this news, Wei Ying will be hunted down. He really had not choice. It had to be him or someone from another clan will take control and kill him outright. If Wangji did it, Wei Ying might have a chance of surviving, but he does not know of the odds. Wangji hopped on Bichen and flew off to find Wei Ying.
