This is going to be a shorter chapter just because I wanted it to be a sweet moment all on it's own.

~*3rd person POV/ Author POV*~

Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were in the Jingshi to pack their belongings for their journey to Celestial Mountain. Wangji had told his uncle and brother about the conversation with Wei Ying and Baoshan on her proposal of his next step of cultivation. Both his uncle and brother told him he should do it. It was an opportunity that he would be insane not to take. Baoshan rarely takes on disciples, especially since she took Wuxian home with her. She wanted to give her grandson a happy life and allow him to fully use his gift of cultivation to the best of his abilities. It was something that Wangji would not deny and will accept it.

"Wei Ying, have you packed everything?" Lan Zhan asked.

"Yes, I believe so," he answered looking around the Jingshi one last time, "Have you got everything you need?"

"Yes," Lan Zhan said, "We should head to the dining hall for dinner. The lantern lighting will be soon after dinner is finished."

"Okay, I am starving," Wuxian stated and followed Lan Zhan out and over to the dining hall.

After they had all finished their meal, the all gathered at the training site to craft their lanterns and set them off. The students would all disperse in the morning, and head on back to their own Sects to carry on with their duties as before they came to Gusu. The disciples were all busy making lanterns to set off as was a tradition in Gusu. Wuxian and Wangji sat together, Wangji mending together wires and building the frame, why Wuxian was painting a decoration on the lantern. Wangji was curious as to what his soulmate was painting, but he kept his eyes to the frame and waited until the finish product to be shown to him.

"Lan Zhan, I finished the painting, dedicated to you, my love," Wei Ying said and showed it to him.

Lan Zhan looked and couldn't help but smile. It was a rabbit painted onto it. He felt his heart beat faster and then looked at Wei Ying, "I love it, but I love you more," He told Wuxian.

"Aiha, Lan Zhan, such sweet words, I don't know if my heart can handle it," Wuxian teased, "But I too, love you."

Lan Zhan rolled his eyes and shook his head at his lover's antics. The two then stood and lit it and sent it off along with the other disciples.

"I, Wei Wuxian, wish to fulfill my parents legacy, Standing up to justice and helping the weak, while remaining by my Lan Zhan's side, living with no regrets," he said in a whisper.

Lan Zhan heard his lover's wish as he had a similar wish, and said them within his thoughts, 'I, Lan Wangji, Wish to assist the weak and curve the violent, along side my Wei Ying, living with no regrets.'

The pair strolled back to the Jingshi holding hands and fingers intertwined. Wangji still had a smile on his face. Wei Ying could not get enough if his precious jade's smile. He made sure to embed the image of his lover smiling in his brain because he was not sure when he would see it like this again. He hoped everyday, but he also did not know what the future had in store for them.

Tonight though, he wanted to remember it all, for it was a beautiful moment between the two that it was something that they will never and hoped to never forget.
