"A'Ying," Baoshan said softly, "I have a couple things for you."

"What?" Wei Ying asked.

"This here is a ring I crafted from that piece of Yin Iron that you cleansed. When you wear it, it will tell you where and when another piece is nearby, and it will hold the resentment so you don't have to absorb it. Once you return, we can again properly cleanse the ring. It will be harmless to you as you are okay with yin energy," she explained.

((Wei Ying's Yin Ring))

"Thank you," Wei Ying said and put the ring on his right middle finger.

"I also made you a new talisman," she said, "it's just one so when you use it, it sends a warning to Xingchen, Song Lan, and Me. It will come in handy if either of you need our assistance."

With the last sentence, it was almost as if it was for Wangji to hear specifically. He was also given the talisman to use if necessary.

"I want you both to be careful on your journey," she told them, "also, be on the look out for another Dire Owl. I know A'Ying killed one already but just make sure there isn't another following. The Wen's really want those Yin Pieces."

"Alright," Wuxian said, "we will be careful and come back here first with the yin pieces. I am sure Lan Zhan is missed over at Gusu."

"I may be missed, but being with Wei Ying is my what I am doing now," Lan Zhan said, "they can wait a little longer for me."

Wei Ying laughed, "you're too sweet," he said to Lan Zhan and turned to his grandmother, "we shall head out then."

She nodded, hugged both of the boys and said their goodbyes before the two used a teleportation talisman. They appeared just outside of Yiling.

"What directed Wei Ying?" Lan Zhan Asked.

Wuxian closed his eyes and sent energy to the ring. It gave of a dim glow of red light and spoke to Wuxian.

"Northeast," Wuxian said, "this ring talks to me. It's weird."

"Does it bother you in any way?" Wangji asked.

"Not really," Wuxian answered, "it's just new and different."

Wangji nodded, "Qinghe is Northeast, but it's quite a way to go. There is a conference there in two weeks if I remember correctly. Xiongzhang might like it if I showed."

"We can stop by for a visit," Wuxian said, "do you want to walk in the mean time or use our swords?"

"If we use our swords it will save time but we will use a lot of energy."

"You don't use as much when you are immortal," Wuxian informed, "we could stop at the next town or city if you like."

Wangji nodded and decided they both fly on their swords. After a good distance of traveling, Wei Ying's ring advised him to to start heading East."

"Lan Zhan, the ring said to start heading East," Wuxian told him.

Wangji nodded and they turned towards the eastern direction. For a while, they saw nothing but think wooded areas and then large open fields. After a few more hours, the ring was still guiding them into the wooded area and they were not close to a town. So the two landed and set up a campfire to keep them warm. The two then decided to meditate for a while as it was still a bit early to sleep yet.

As Wei Ying was meditating, he was being disturbed by the resentful energy, he was having a sort of vision.

~*Vision*~
It was dark, but the area he was in was filled with cultivators from various clans. They were all pointing their swords towards Wuxian. His skin was white as snow, his eyes were a deep crimson, and clouds of resentment oozed out of him. He had lost control. The Yang energy was gone and his silver core had been contaminated and turned black. He had a metal object floating above him eating resentful energy but also casting it. Puppets were everywhere trying to keep the cultivators busy and away from Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian took out Suibian and started to attack cultivators beyond his control. Inside his head was inner turmoil. He was fighting the resentment. He didn't want to hurt anyone, he didn't want any of this. He wanted it to stop. As he was fighting his own brain, a glare of a sword caught his attention..........
~*End Vision*~

Wei Ying opened his eyes and started gasping for air. He had tears running down his face and his entire body was shaking beyond his control. Lan Zhan was still deep in meditation so he did not know what was happening to Wei Ying, but Wei Ying noticed and had to get his attention. He needed his help as he could barely breathe and he was having a panic attack.

"L-l-lan-" Wei Ying tried but started to cough and choke for air.

Wei Ying coughing caught Lan Zhan's attention which woke him from meditation. He looked at his soulmate and saw he was panicking so much that Lan Zhan couldn't even get to a position to grab him, so he pulled out his guqin and started to my soul calming music. After a few minutes Wei Ying stopped choking and coughing but his breathing was still heavy. He was calming down enough to pull him to his lap to comfort him, so Wangji put his guqin away and grabbed Wei Ying, putting him on his lap.

"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying said as he put his face into the crook of Wangji's neck, "thank you."

"No need to thank me, I am here," Wangji said continuing to comfort his lover.

His left hand rested on the back of Wuxian's head while the other hand was wrapped around the man's waist. With the hand on Wei Ying's head, Wangji started to lightly run his fingers through his hair and gentle scratching the man's scalp. Wuxian melted into the man's touch more and calmed down enough to tell Wangji what happened. He told him was he saw and how scared he felt.

"What do I do Lan Zhan?" Wuxian asked continuing to let tears fall.

"We will figure something out," he said, "it's hard to rid a body of resentful energy, and you do carry a good amount of it. So it's probably not helping you."

"I just want to make it stop," Wuxian said, "sitting his like this with you, that is all I want. I don't want anything else."

"We can stay like this all night if you like," Wangji told him, "I promise I am not leaving you or going anywhere."

Wei Ying turned his head upward and kissed the man's jaw, "I love you."

"And I love you, Wei Ying, never forget that."

Wuxian nodded and rested his head back on Wangji's shoulder. Wangji then leaned back against the tree he was sitting in front of and fell asleep with his lover him his arms.
