~*3rd POV/Author POV*~

It was the following morning after Wuxian and Wangji had their first time. They both woke feeling fine, just some sore muscles. The two took a bath and dressed for the day before heading out to meet with Baoshan. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan made there way to the dining room and sat down for breakfast. As they ate, Wangji could feel his mouth start to burn. As painful as it was, he actually managed to hold himself together, although Wuxian noticed something was off.

"Lan Zhan, are you okay?" Wuxian asked.

Wangji nodded, "Mm," he hummed. It was all that he could really vocalize at the moment as it was the least amount of speaking. He worried it was burn worse if he spoke.

Wuxian smirked and looked at his grandmother, "you snuck spice in his food didn't you," he asked her.

"Of course," Baoshan admitted, "despite him not being able to speak much, he is holding himself together better than your father did."

Wei Ying laughed, "That is because he grew up in Gusu, they are very good at being polite and have incredible self-restraint."

"I have noticed," Baoshan said, "I am actually impressed. I am looking forward to training this young man."

Wei Ying smiled, "would you like me to help with anything?"

"You could continue training yourself, which reminds me, we never removed the talisman that hides your immortal energy," she said.

"Oh," Wuxian said and went over to her.

Wangji watched as Baoshan and removed the talisman and Wei Ying was back to us normal immortal self. Wei Ying looked more ethereal now that the enchantment of the talisman was gone. His features were enhanced and his skin looked smoother. He looked stunning as per usual, but even more so. Wangji had a hard time keeping his eyes off his man.

"Alright," Baoshan said and sat beside Wangji, "I just want to check your spiritual energy. I want to see where you are and how strong your core currently is." Wangji nodded and allowed her to do what she needed. She took two fingers and using her energy she checked through Wangji's spiritual energy containers, his Qi, and his golden core, "You are indeed, very ready to cultivate to the next step, my dear."

Wangji smiled, "I will do as you instruct," Wangji said to her.

"I want you to take this," She said holding a little container and opened it. Inside was a supplement that Wei Ying spoke of, "This will make things go smoothly as you cultivate and keep your Qi from deviating, and it will help you meditate easily. The process is fairly easy, but it is also a lot to take in. You will be spending the next ten days just meditating. You will be woken to eat and sleep, and once a day for an hour while meditating, you will spend in the spiritual hot spring."

Wangji nodded and did as she instructed, "Do you want me to meditate in a specific location?" he asked.

"Follow me," She said and stood up.

She lead Wangji down a fairly long hallway and entered a room. The energy in the room was very calming and great for meditation. Wei Ying entered with them and went over to a table and took out a couple scrolls, and just started reading.

"A'Ying will be in here to make sure everything goes smoothly, but you should be just fine," Baoshan stated, "Here in the center is a spiritual chamber. It will create a barrier around you as you meditate and it will start to slowly take effect. It should be painless, of course, You might just feel hot at times or extremely cold. That just means your energy is trying to balance out and allow the Yang Energy you contain to create your new core. A'Ying, of course, knows what to be aware of and will make sure to adjust the temperature of the room when needed. He will also use Chenqing if notices you being uncomfortable. As he knows how to play a calming heart melody to easy a person into comfort."

Wangji listened carefully to her instructions and followed every step. He sat in the center of the room and focused his breathing. He managed to easily slip into his meditative state and Baoshan cast the barrier to feed him energy and guide him into a new core. She left Wei Ying to watch over him and walked out. Wei Ying was all for making sure his partner was safe and secure. He decided to paint a portrait of Lan Zhan as he observed him. Remembering how he looks when he sits to read, his features, his calm yet cold appearance that others may find uncomfortable but to Wei Ying, it felt like home. His lack of expressions have never bothered Wuxian, as he had started getting Lan Zhan to express himself more anyway. He was happy that his partner was sitting there in front of him. He was happy to watch as Wangji slowly cultivated to immortality.
