Jooheon glares at Mingyu and DK for a moment before reluctantly walking away. As he shoves his way past the two men, he mumbles something to them.
Once he turns the corner and is out of sight, DK moves his gaze to us, once again wearing a large, cheerful smile. "Are you guys okay?"
"I guess..." I say, my voice coming out flat.
Jisoo moves away from the wall and stares at the two men in front of her. "What the hell just happened?" she asks them, an underlining tone of anger in her voice.
"Hey, how are we supposed to know?" DK exclaims, and I catch Mingyu rolling his eyes.
"I mean, Jooheon was mad at you. shouldn't you be the one telling us what happened?" Mingyu looks at me and lightly chuckles, "You really like to get into trouble."
I bite my tongue so that I don't say anything rude. He did just save us, and in fairness, he wasn't particularly wrong.
"He was mad because he thought we were calling the police or something," I shrug. "He probably overheard us say something about wishing we could call the police"
"We weren't actually planning to!" Jisoo clarifies, likely worried they would react the same as the Jooheon guy.
The men share a look, "Yea, maybe don't mention the police in an area where people are illegally racing." DK says, obviously trying to keep his voice kind.
"Also, just, don't call the police," Mingyu adds.
"Trust me, we won't." Jisoo says, "But we need to go."
I walk to stand beside her, ready to be back home.
"Wait!" DK walks over to Jisoo, making her take a cautious step back. "Take this," he says while handing her a paper.
I look over her shoulder to see a phone number scribbled out.
"Call me in case Jooheon shows back up."
Jisoo looks between the boy and the piece of paper. Reluctantly, she reaches for the paper and stuffs it into her pocket. "Thanks..."
DK nods at us, and behind him, Mingyu leans against the wall, watching us.
Without saying anything, me and Jisoo turn and leave.

"I'm meeting Changkyun at the library tomorrow," Jisoo says, standing up from the couch to put away the dishes. "Do you want to come?"
I stay sitting on the couch, not moving my gaze from the TV, "Hmm." I think it over. "I don't know," I call out.
Jisoo reappears in the room, walking over to stand in front of the couch, almost blocking the TV. "We'll be there from four to six or something, so you can come by anytime." She looks at me softly.
Shrugging, I stand up and move into the kitchen to help Jisoo with dishes. "I'll see if I have time," I reply, not planning to go.
I know Jisoo means well, wanting me to go so I wouldn't be alone all day. But I couldn't enjoy going to the library with them. I'd rather be alone than mindlessly watch them study as they forget I'm even there.
"Okay." she gently smiles.
Thankfully it doesn't take us long to finish the dishes, and we're able to go back into the living room to finish watching our show.
