"Finally!" Jeonghan exclaims as Minghao, and I pile into the backseat. "What the hell took you two so long."
"Just fucking drive, Jeonghan!" Minghao screams, slamming the door behind us.
"Y/N shouldn't have gone back for you," He huffs. Bursting forward so rapidly that the tires squeal. "What happened back there?"
I don't answer, shrinking back into the far seat. Too many feelings are swirling through me, clouding my thoughts and judgment. I fMinghao wasn't there to lead me out of Ku's restaurant, I would have been lost in there forever, even if the exit was right in front of me. We had the chance to kill Kun, and we—he—didn't.
I never considered myself to be the type of person who would gladly murder someone, though I also never put much thought into it. I didn't think it would ever be relevant. But in that moment, where Kun was down, and we had the chance, the urge wasn't a want. It was a need. What's the point of all of this if true justice doesn't get served? And what is better justice than returning death to a killer? It only seems appropriate to me.
"Holy shit. They're following us."
"What?" Minghao's shocked interjection shakes me from my trance. I turn around in my seat and peer out the back. Sure enough, two cars, one a van big enough for at least nine people and a sports car, exit the restaurant, quickly speeding up to trail us.
"Shit," Jeonghan murmurs. "A fucking chase and none of us are racers."
"I'm a racer."
"You're bike isn't going to help us here, jackass!"
"Want me to call S.Coups?" Minghao offers, watching in terror as the cars grow closer to us, slipping through traffic without care. Knowing how Kun likes to treat his problems, I'm terrified—and everyone else should be, too.
Jeonghan laughs with anger, "Are you serious? No!" He wildly shakes his head, swerving to the left lane and barely catching a light. Unfortunately, the small sport car doesn't appreciate the laws and races through the red. A symphony of honks follows him. "Don't call anyone."
"Well, we can't get out of this!" Minghao screams, growing more concerned as the car gets closer to us, dangerously so. If they wanted to, or if they sped up slightly too much, we'd be in a crash. Or if Jeonghan stupidly begins to slow down. "What else do you suggest?"
"Someone tell me where to go!" Jeonghan waves his hand around, sending a jolt of alarm through me as only one hand steadies the wheel. "You two grew up here; you have to know of somewhere we can hide!"
I clamp my mouth shut, throwing a warning look to Minghao, but either he doesn't catch it, or he doesn't care.
"I know a place! I'll show you the way."
"Don't you dare," I hiss.
"For the love, stop being so pretentious, Y/N! Do you want to get us all killed?"
"Fine," I grumble, allowing Minghao to lean between the two front seats while I keep my head turned, watching our tail. "You better start driving faster, though!"
Whoever is driving the red-hot sports car seriously looks like they're considering ramming right into us. I try to peer into the driver's seat to see if it's someone I recognize, but the windows are tinted, and in the dark, it's impossible to tell. It has to be one of Kun's racers, just which one.
"Take a left up here!"
I nearly fly across the car, propelled by Jeonghan's sudden turn.
"You couldn't have told me sooner? And Y/N put on your seatbelt."
