"Where's Jisoo?" DK asks as soon as I step foot back into the waiting room.
I sigh, too ashamed to raise my eyes off the ground. "She's waiting with Monsta X to see Changkyun is."
"Alone?" Panic fills DK's voice, "What if they try to do some-"
"She'll be fine, DK," Jeonghan says with no hesitation.
"How can you be sure?"
"They have more important things to worry about. As do we."
"Well, I still don't trust them," He huffs. "I'm going to go over there with her. Plus-" His voice turns tender. "She shouldn't be alone now anyway. Not when someone she cares about is in surgery."
DK quickly leaves the room, not waiting as Jeonghan opens his mouth to dispersuade him. "He'll only make them agitated," Jeonghan sighs. "Welcome back, Y/N. Foods here. Do you want anything?"
"No thanks." I shake my head. The thought of eating anything makes me want to throw up still.
Since me and Jisoo left, everyone has resorted to sitting on the ground, as S.Coups and Woozi take up the three seats. Woozi pushed two of the seats together to sit in them like a short couch. His laptop is sitting on his lap and he types away furiously.
"So? Did they see anything?" S.Coups addresses me.
I shake my head again. "No. When we walked in, they accused us- Seventeen of being behind it."
"That's ridiculous!" Wonwoo shouts, stopping mid-chew. "Why would we purposefully almost kill Mingyu?"
I flinch as he refers to Mingyu as 'almost killed.' "I don't know."
"Who said that?" Jeonghan suddenly sits up from the floor, crossing his arms over his chest. "Was it a group thing?" He asks with narrowed eyes.
"No, Jooheon was the only one who claimed that, but it looked like some of the others agreed."
"Did Hyungwon?" His voice turns dark. "Or Shownu?" he adds when I look at him bewildered.
"Hyungwon is the silver-haired one, right?"
"Yeah."
"He said he didn't think it was us, and Shownu stopped the conversation. I'm not sure if he thinks it was Seventeen or not."
"Damnit," Jeonghan says under his breath. "That group is full of morons," he concludes.
"It doesn't matter if they think it's us. I don't care what they think if they don't have any helpful information. I'll work on contacting our allies to see if they know anything." S.Coups shrugs his shoulders tiredly. "We'll need to get more information on what happened if we want to show proof to Rosé."
"You aren't worried that Monsta X will try to convince Rosé of their stupid assumption to get us kicked out," Seungkwan asks.
"They don't have enough money to make her 'believe' that," Woozi says. "They've been struggling financially ever since Wonho was caught."
I tilt my head at the mention of 'Wonho.' I've heard the name before, but not in the context of street racing. Traveling back to before all this happened and when Jisoo, Changkyun, and I all still worked at the restaurant, I remember a time when Changkyun had to leave work early—again—because his friend had been arrested. He had said that it was a 'scam' and that his friend was 'set up.' He had let the name slip on accident. That was Wonho.
"I'll be right back," Jeonghan says abruptly.
"What are you doing?"
"Just going to the bathroom," Jeonghan called back, quickly leaving the room and turning right. The bathrooms were to the left.
