Chapter 18
__________
I'm awakened by a fresh morning wind coming from the window behind me. It gently strokes my cheek and leaves a cold path. I allow my eyes to slightly open, my body remains tucked under a thick blanket.
The first thing I see is a grey ceiling with small fancy chandelier. Crystals of all shapes and sizes are hanging from three round steel circles. I have a chandelier in my room in Green Hammerton, but not very similar to this one. I wonder where I am.
I feel my hands a bit sore, so I pull them out of the blanket and take a look at my wrists. They're red and swollen even more than they were when I was falling asleep. I gently brush through them and all of sudden, I remember soft lips kissing them. Draco's lips.
I smile and immediately sit up on his couch, looking around the office to find him.
This night felt like a dream, but it wasn't. It really happened. We talked, we touched, we laughed and smiled at each other...my eyes land on the cup on the table in front of me, the one I've been drinking the lavender tea from. He was right, it really made me sleep like a baby.
"Good morning," I tell Draco with sleepy, but happy voice.
Full of happiness and excitement, a combination I haven't felt for quite some time, I stand up and head to the mattress where Draco sleeps.
The cold wooden floor is a shock to my bare feet. I wrap myself into my bathing robe and head to find Draco. He's probably still sleeping, although it's Friday morning. I have no idea what time it is, but I hope we can have some more time for ourselves.
"Draco-" I call his name, but I pause when I spot the mattress, just the mattress with black blanket and one pillow.
Draco is nowhere to be seen.
The smile on my face quickly fades as I look around the empty office. I just wanted a nice morning, is it too much to ask? He could've left me a note, I wouldn't mind if he woke me up and told me where's he going. Anything, but leaving me alone once again.
Before I leave his office, I can't fight the urge to lie into his bed. So I do. I throw myself into the pillow and blanket, inhaling his perfume all over the sheets. I imagine what it must feel like to just lie in here during a cold night, with his strong hands wrapped around my body, warming our bodies with our heat.
Walking around the castle in a bathing robe is not something people see everyday, so I make sure to take all the forgotten and empty hallways to get to my common room. There, I don't care if anyone spots me. We use to be there in our pajamas, so it's no big deal.
I silently enter my room, preparing what I'm going to say to Pansy once she asks me where I've been the whole morning. I can say I've been sleepwalking, or that I've been talking to Helena Ravenclaw.
On my surprise, the room is empty just like the office. But I can smell Pansy's perfume all over the room, she must've been there a few minutes ago.
I change into my Slytherin school outfit and head to the Great hall. I thought about staying in my room for the rest of the day, but that would only bring me to more overthinking.
At least everyone is here, sitting by the long Slytherin table. As soon as I walk over to them, all of their eyes land on me, demanding some kind of an answer.
"Good morning," I say to all and separate Blaise from Pansy to seat myself. He raises his eyebrows at me, but obeys and makes room for me.
