Chapter 56
__________

I normally love winter, it's one of my two favorite seasons along with autumn. All the nature covered under a white sparkly cloak, fresh and new almost every morning, the layers of clothes I have to put on my body and mostly, winter break.

We - me, Pansy and the boys - always meet for a night or two in someone's house and have a little party just for the five of us. It usually consists of chatting in front of a fireplace with hot cocoa in our hands, bundled up in the thickest blankets and then replacing the cocoa with something more...alcoholic. We've been doing that for three years and it's never been a fail.

Winter is amazing, yes, but as much as I love it, I would give anything for it to be summer while walking to the Hogsmeade village, with our feet centimeters deep in the snow that has covered the entire path from Hogwarts. Entire.

Constantly cussing and regretting we even
bothered to dress up and do our hair when the
snow storm fucked it all up, we somehow made it to the beginning of the village, from where we could hear the music coming from the party in the Broomsticks. It was some kind of a wake up call - we immediately forgot about our wet shoes and messed up hair and ran in.

The heat of the bar instantly hit our bodies and wrapped them, sending the cold goosebumps away just after a few minutes we put our cloaks on the hanger. Me and Pansy exchange smiles and take a look around the place.

"Holy fuck." Pansy says with her mouth gasped open.

Wow. Just...wow.

This definitely doesn't look like the old Broomsticks where we spend - or used to spend -most of our free evening time. No. Toby turned this into a whole night club full of young people who are, surprisingly, not only Hogwarts students. These annual parties are getting better year by year.

It's kind of weird it's just the two of us in here, dancing all alone in the huge crowd of people with no one to guard our drinks and phones. I don't like the situation our whole friendship group is at, but what can I do? It's their loss they didn't come with us.

After a few free shots that Toby let us have behind his bar, my head feels a bit heavy and my feet are tipsier than usual, but I guess that's because I haven't drank alcohol in a while. I'm going to have to get used to that if me and Pansy are planing on staying friends now.

I missed this. I missed this a lot. All the people, the great music to which my hips swing on their own and of course, I missed my Pansy. Parties wouldn't be parties without her.

The music is great, the people are kind and our age and everything should be good. Should be.
But it isn't. Something feels off.

I don't know what, though. And I'm in no mood to think about it right now in the middle of the dancing floor with Pansy's hands on my waist, gently moving them to my breasts and down again to the music. Her body is pressed on mine and like that, we last four songs until our legs start to go sore and our throats dry.

Or at least mine.

"Pans, I'll go get something to drink," I yell into her ear, because that's the only way for her to hear me properly.

She nods her head, "sure."

I leave her and make my way through the dozens of people, banging into them and using my force to get through them to the bar.
