Chapter 12
__________

Friday finally arrives and ends this bloody boring week full of assignments and exams. Never in my life have I been the kind of person who's only purpose is to somehow suffer through a week just to have a few days of fun from Friday to Sunday, never. I take them as miserable, but it's not really their fault. It's how we're programmed to be, every single human being in this society.

Us, Wizards and Witches are much better at enjoying life I must say, from the many years of watching Muggles during our Summer holidays. Sometimes me and Pansy would go to London and pretend we're "normal" just for the fun of it, but it was no fun at all. I can't imagine not having a single drop of power in me, just pure flesh and bones.

But even among us, there are a lot of people who can't seem to enjoy life. I see it in other houses, too. They all seem so stiff. Not many would say it, but us, Slytherins, we're the happiest of them all. We tend to follow our dreams with our ambition and do what we love much more usually than the rest, even if it costs something. But we're not bad people, not at all. We're like our symbol - the Snake - sleek, powerful and often misunderstood.

This week has been rough only because I allowed my feelings to mix up, something I haven't done in a long time. And I'm not so proud of it.

"What are you thinking about?" Theo asks me and sips from his black tea.

I re-focus my sight that's been blurred during my thinking and lift my eyes to meet his.

"Nothing much," I mumble and stuff my mouth with a croissant.

It's not Sunday morning breakfast, but this could also do - croissants and coffee. The combination waiting for me once I move to Paris.

We're all finishing up, the classes are starting in a couple of minutes. Just a few of them until I can put my legs up and close my eyes and not have to see any of the teachers for another three days.

"You look tired," Pansy eyes me from up to down, here-" she takes her red lipstick from her pocket and brings it to my lips. After a few brushes against them, she gives me a kiss on my cheek.

"I am," I say and try for a smile.

I'm not gonna pretend I'm not fully aware that professor Malfoy is sitting just a few seats from me, talking to some younger Slytherin students. My eyes wander at his face far too frequent, but I can't help it. I have to look, he's so close. I realize we haven't talked much for almost a week

"You could do Herbology," I hear Blaise tell Pansy, who's constantly complaining about the subjects we have to choose.

She scoffs and rolls her eyes. "Yeah? The only plant I know is weed, and it's not even legal,"

We all burst out laughing, I see the professor notice us and rise up his eyebrows.

"That's not true..." Zion speaks up, "you must know some...dandelions and shit,"

I laugh even more and feel discomforting pain in my head from all the laughing.

"Fucking dandelions..." Pansy repeats for herself while playing with the crumbs of her food.

"What's so funny?" Professor asks me in my mind.

I stiff, the hair on my arms rise up, but I don't answer him.

We had a lot of classes today, but Pansy made us pass two of them because of her period sickness. I took her to the abandoned bathroom where no one besides us goes, because it's said to be the most haunted place in here. But we like it, sometimes Myrtle comes and talks to us, sometimes she isn't in mood.
