Chapter 3
__________I don't think I've ever run to a class this fast before. Mine and Pansy's loud steps of our black loafers are echoing between the walls of the long hall we're sprinting through, a few people that we've passed by gave us confused looks.
This September morning looks nicely warm from the huge windows, but still, the stone castle keeps the cold inside. I'm in my Slytherin outfit - white shirt tucked into a black pleated skirt, a green tie and a pair of knee high socks that I used to hate before, because they always rolled down to my ankles, but since my body got fuller and my curves finally arrived, it stays on its place now.
However put together I might look, my head is still spinning from the night before and I have no idea how I'm gonna concentrate on my classes. And what's worse, it's the Potions class with the new professor we're being late for. The professor I accidentally drunk flirted with yesterday.
"Fucking first class of the year and we're late!" Pansy yells, short out of breath while we're running toward the Potions classroom.
"But the makeup was worth it," I say with a laugh.
"Yeah, the only way to hide yesterday,"
And she's right. One thing we've noticed during our stay at Hogwarts, appearance matters. A lot, actually. Everyone judges everyone, especially us Slytherins, so keeping ourselves nice and clean looking is how we keep our pride. How would it look if we were walking around the school completely hungover, looking like a zombie?
We finally manage to get to class, hoping that the professor won't be there yet, but I guess luck isn't on our side today. Pansy made me open the door first and I immediately cussed in my head. He's there in his full glam, leaned over the table with his arms folded.
"I'm so sorry, we-" I start apologizing, but he cuts me off.
"Sit," he commands us.
I exchange frightened faces with Pansy and walk to our usual seats in the back of the classroom where the boys are. They look at us amused, and Theo raises his eyebrows.
"Shut up, it's you who poured all the stupid vodka into me," I whisper to Theo while sitting down to my chair with angry face.
"Not there-" the Professor says from behind his desk, addressing us, "here," he taps on the two tables all the way in the front row of seats.
With a silent groan, I walk up there, feeling everyone's faces on us, and before I sit, I look at the professor.
"Thank you very much," I say in my head so no one can hears us. That would be weird.
He hears me, because he flinches a bit, but then looks away with no answer. I sit down in complete embarrassment. What was I thinking?
I can't remember a day when I sat in the front row. Since we're mixed with Ravenclaws, it's been always two things: place for the teacher's pets or the place of punishment. For us now, it's the second one.
Another thing, I'm very close to the professor's desk. Uncomfortably close. I don't have to cheat on exams, but Pansy does from me, and like that, it's impossible. Looks like she's gonna have to really study this time.
"Professor...Draco-" the professor mumbles while writing his name with a white chalk on a board, "...Malfoy. Professor Malfoy for you,"
I watch his elegant hand writing all over the board, his silver ring meets a sun ray and shines blindingly for a second. When he finishes, he wipes the chalk off his hands with a wet wipe and comes back to the front of his desk, where he leans over. Right in front of me.
