Chapter 54
__________

Our last kiss was on a field near the Hogwarts castle, from where Draco apparated to his office and left me to walk to my dorm alone. He protested at first, insisting on walking me all the way inside, but I didn't want to attract any more trouble.

The Slytherin common room is quiet. It's lunch time, so everyone who's not eating in the Great hall is spending their free time sitting and studying on the couches.

No one speaks to me. But I know.

I knew it by the looks they give me that something is wrong. It makes me so uncomfortable that I hurry into my room and lock myself in there without properly looking who's inside.

I have to check twice to notice Pansy sitting on her bed, examining me from head to toe. I got so used to living alone in this room that seeing her in here shocks me. It truly does.

"What are you doing here?" I ask with slight annoyance in my voice.

It even smells different. Like her perfume. Her bed is already covered with her stuff and the window is opened wide although it's freaking cold outside. She smoked. She knows how much I hate smoking here - it's so hard to get rid of the smell through one small window.

"Living with you?" Her eyebrows rise.

I can't hide the scoff that leaves my mouth. It's not that she's here again, it's the fact that she pretends like nothing happened between us. Like the whole month of not talking was totally normal. She always did that - after every small fight, she pretended it never happened in order to prevent herself from talking about it.

I throw my purse on my bed. "Interesting. Why so sudden?"

She shrugs her shoulders. "It's not sudden."

No. She's keeping something from me. I sense it in my bones that she has a secret that she's worried to share with me. Or more, ashamed.

Pansy leans her upper body against the bed frame. "Did you have a good time?"

My body stills, all my hairs point up from the sudden fear. I could swear the tension in this room got much higher than it was until now.

My eyes widen, "what?"

"At home, were things good? Zion told me your mother's ill..."

Oh.

"Oh..." I look to the ground and cough, "yes, she's much better now."

"Great."

The wind comes through the still opened window and brushes against my body, leaving me trembling with goosebumps. I get pissed and wave my wand toward it, murmuring colloportus under my mouth.

Pansy remains silent.

I can't stand this. In order for us to live together again, we have to find some words. Or else I'll move to Draco's office.

Actually...that's not a bad idea. Not at all.

"Tell me what happened." I say after a while of unpacking my stuff from the purse.

I can't see Pansy from where in turned to, but I know damn well she just shrugged her shoulders, "nothing happened."

With a sigh, I turn my body to face her. "You didn't speak to me for weeks and now I'm supposed to believe that?"

She sits up, "Lou..."

"Get it out."

She takes a deep, shaking breath like she's been crying for the whole night. Even her eyes are a bit red, maybe she-
