Karan woke up and found Monami sitting on the bed lost in her own thoughts. He came near her and placed his head on her shoulder.

Karan: Kya soch rahi ho?

Monami: Ek baat puchu Karan?

Karan: pucho na?

Monami: Tumhe sachme lagta hai ki Faizi aur Sanju tum par bharosa nahi karenge?

Karan sighed and said: Nahi pata Monami. Sach me nahi pata.

Monami: Karan, Faizi aur Sanju tumhe mujhse pehle se jaante hai. Woh jaante hai ki tum apne country se kitna pyaar karte ho. Unhone tumhare saath training ki hai aur woh bhi tumhari tarah hi soldiers hai ..

Karan looked at her perfectly understanding what she was conveying.

She continued: Karan us samay jisne react kiya woh commandos the jo apne desh se bohot pyaar karte hai. Isliye desh ki gaddari sehen nahi kar paaye. Par Karan agar tum unki jagah hote toh tum bhi to aisa hi react karte na. Pehle tumhara andar ka soldier jaagta hai phir tumhara dost jagta hai. Karan smiled and hugged her and kissed her cheeks.

Karan: Mein samaj gaya Monami. Thank you mujhe samjhane ke liye. Mein abhi jaakar Faizi aur Sanju se maafi mangta hu.
Tum bhi chalo mere saath.

Monami smiled: Good boy.

Karan smiled and both of them left for the mess.

Parallel scene:

As soon as Monami and Mrs Batra had left the mess, Faizi sat down on the bench with an expressionless face.

Koel: Kya soch rahe ho Faizi?

Faizi: Kuch nhi

Koel: Tumhe sachme lagta hai ki Karan sir ne aisa kiya hoga?

Sid: Ha Sanju tumhe bhi aisa lagta hai?

Faizi and Sanju looked at each other and said: Lagta nahi hume pura yakeen hai ki Karan ne aisa nahi kiya hai.

Koel and Sid looked at them in surprise.

Sid: Toh phir aapne Karan sir ko gaddar kyu kaha? Unki side kyu nahi ki Batra sir ke saamne?

Faizi and Sanju were quite.

Koel: Bolo na Sanju aap logo ki khamoshi hame pareshan kar rahi hai.

Faizi: Wohi

Sanju: Ha Koel wohi. Hame bhi Sirji ki khamoshi hi sata Rahi hai. Hum janto hai ki Karan sirji aisa kabhi na kar sakto hai par unhone...

Faizi: Usne kuch bola kyu nahi. Usne Batra sir ke saamne apni baat kyu nahi rakhi.

Sid: Shayad unki koi majburi hogi.

Faizi: Jaanta hu Sid. Jaanta hu. Uski koi majburi hogi. Hamne apne dost ko apne desh ke liye marte hue bhi dekha hai. Hume pura yakeen hai .

Koel: Toh phir...

Faizi: Uss samay at the spur of the moment jisne react kiya woh Karan ka dost nahi tha woh ek soldier tha jise...jise apne country se itni mohabbat hai jitni Karan ko hai. Isliye woh gusse mein ek dost ke upar ek Soldier ne overpower kar liya.

Sanju: Ha Koel..

Faizi: Ek dost ko pura yakeen hai ki uska...uska bhai aisa kabhi nahi kar sakta hai par ek soldier bhi hu na Koel. Apne desh ke liye jaan de sakta hu. Par gaddari sehen nahi kar sakta. Isliye... Mujhe sachme Aisa react nahi karna chahiye tha. I am sorry..I am really sorry.

Koel and Sid hugged Faizi and Sanju.

Sid: Yeh baat Karan sir se bhi to jaake kaho.

Faizi nodded.

Uski koi zarurat nahi hai.

They looked at the voice. Monami and Karan were standing there. Apparently they had listened to the entire conversation.

Faizi and Sanju immediately hugged Karan crying while Monami smiled and joined the other two.

Faizi: Sorry please please hume maaf kardo please Karan.

Sanju: Ha sirji

Karan: Kya bakwas kar rahe ho tum dono. Tumhari koi galti nahi hai. Mujhe Monami ne samjha diya hai. Agar tumhari jagah mein hota toh shayad mein bhi yahi react karta. Shayad tumhe maar bhi deta par tum the isliye mein bach gaya .

All chuckled.

Faizi: Karan par tumne...

Karan: Sab bataunga Faizi. Sahi samay aane par sab bata dunga. Bas ek promise Karo aap sab.

All: Kya?

Karan: Aap mera saath nahi chodenge. Mujhe trust karenge. Please.

All: Don't worry Hum sab aapke saath hai. We will always stay by your side. You know why?

Karan smiled: Why?

All: Because we love you.

Karan : I love you all too.

Faizi, Sanju and Karan hugged each other. Koel Sid and Monami also hugged each other.

The partners then went towards eachother and hugged each other tightly.

Karan whispered in Monami's ear: Thank you so much Monami. I love you.

Monami: I love you too Karan. I will always stay by your side.

Karan buried his face in Monami's hair finding a new found strength. He knows he has his family with him. His family can go any length to protect him. He was not angry with Faizi and Sanju because they were right. Instead he felt proud that his friends loved his country as much as he did. He was sad but then after Monami had explained to him he understood that though they were his friends, they were soldiers of his country first.
