Jack's POV
After that Hans guy left, Elsa just stood there until Bunny coughed. She turned around slowly, looking mortified.
"Um, well, there's been a slight change of plans," she said. "It looks like I'll be the only one giving you your tour today."
"That's okay," Tooth said reassuringly. "I'm sure you'll do great."
Elsa smiled nervously. "Thanks."
She proceeded to take us on the tour herself. She did as well as just about anyone could; it was clear she knew her way around the school. She showed us all the gyms and main rooms where all the games and competitions would be held, as well as the cafeterias and the main office. The last stop on the tour was the stadium outside.
"This is where the soccer game is going to be tonight," she said. I looked at my schedule and saw that there was indeed a soccer game that night. "And then football tomorrow night. The baseball diamond is that way." She pointed. "Baseball and softball games will be held there."
"Oh, awesome." Tooth loved baseball.
"Do you guys have any questions?" Elsa asked, turning back to us.
I raised my hand. "What's up with you and Hans?"
She just looked at me. Then she said, "I meant about the tour."
"Okay. Why did he ditch us for the tour and leave?"
"Because he sucks. Any other questions?"
Bunny sniggered behind me.
"Nope," Hiccup said. "Thanks for the tour."
"Yeah, of course. I'll walk you back to the building."
As we followed her off the field, Bunny nudged me. "What was that all about?"
I shrugged. "They seemed to have some sort of history. I was curious."
"Well we don't go prying into ladies' lives, Frost. It's impolite."
"Oh, now you're telling me what's polite?"
"Girls, girls, you're both pretty," Tooth said, coming between us. "Come on, let's go."
Elsa's POV
I stormed through the upstairs hallway, fuming. Who did Hans think he was? That jerk! First I get a tour group dumped on me and then he just leaves? And then that stupid Jack kid has the nerve to ask me about him! Ugh!
I was completely furious by the time I strode into the art studio, wanting to slam the door but knowing that would probably make Ms. Porter upset. Instead I imagined taking out all my anger and frustration on the door as I gently closed it and stomped over to where my friends were sitting in the back.
Merida looked up. "Ooh boy, incoming."
"Hardy har har." I plopped down on the floor.
"What's wrong?" Rapunzel asked, briefly looking up from her painting.
"Hans is wrong."
"What did he do this time?" Anna snorted.
"He ditched me for our tour!"
"You were giving a tour?" Merida asked.
"Yeah, last minute thing because admin jacked up the tour groups and accidentally used all their people."
"Yeah, I had to give one too," Anna said.
"So I'm like alright fine whatever I'll do it, then he just up and leaves!" I growled. "Oh and Zel, I met your pretty boy, and it turns out he doesn't know how to mind his own business."
"Oh, I'm sorry love," Rapunzel replied.
"Well if it's any comfort, your responsibilities are over for a while; plus that means Hans probably won't be here a lot," Merida said as she began to stroke my hair. "We just get to hang out for the rest of the week."
"Unless Ms. Fairy or some other person dreams up something for me to do." I sighed and leaned my head on her leg.
"Pep rally's in thirty minutes," Anna said, looking at the clock.
"Oh we should go soon if we wanna get good seats," Merida said.
"Okay, just give me a sec to finish this part up."
I raised my head to see what Rapunzel was working on. It was a big watercolor painting of Pascal, her pet chameleon. I smiled. "Gonna hang that on your wall?"
"Of course. Unless Eugene wants it."
Merida laughed. "I'm pretty sure that lizard freaks him out."
"Oh, he'll grow on him," Rapunzel said. "Okay, done. I just need to clean my brushes and put everything away."
"I'll help you," Anna said, getting up from her stool.
"You okay?" Merida murmured, still stroking my hair.
"Yeah." I sighed. "I'll be fine."
"On the bright side, we get to go watch cool cheer routines in a bit."
"Yeah." I laughed lightly. "Those are always super cool. I don't know how Coach Parr is able to come up with routines like that – some of those gymnastics moves they do look physically impossible."
"Gotta hand it to our pixies, too," Merida added, offering her hand to help me up. "They're the ones actually doing the moves."
"True, true."
"Alright, let's go," Rapunzel said.
The four of us left the art studio and headed to the gym.
