Jack's POV

Wednesday afternoon, Tooth caught me as I was leaving Tulio's class. "Hey, are you doing anything right now?"

"Uh, no, I was just gonna go home."

"Cool." She grabbed my hand. "You're coming to the council meeting."

"What?"

"You heard me."

"Tooth, I got kicked off the council."

"Yes, I am aware." She was still pulling me through the halls. "We have something we want to discuss with you."

"What could possibly –"

"Shush." We'd reached the meeting room, and she opened the door.

North was going over the list. "Bunny Easter, Sandy Mann...where's Tooth?"

"Tooth Fairy, present!" Tooth proclaimed as we walked in.

North looked at me and raised his eyebrows. "Ah, I see Jack's here."

"Evidently," I replied dryly.

North picked up all his stuff and put it in his bag. "Alright, well, you all have fun with your little intervention thing. I'll be in my classroom if you need anything."

"I'm sorry, our what now?" I asked as he stood up. He just smiled flatly and walked past me out the door.

"Jack, have a seat," Tooth said. I saw that the three of them were already sitting down.

I remained standing. "I feel like I should tell you that I don't drink alcohol, nor do I do drugs."

"Jack," Bunny said. "Sit."

I rolled my eyes and plopped down in the chair across from them. "What?"

Tooth leaned forward and rested her arms on the desk. "So, how are you doing, Jack?"

I just looked at her. "What."

She shrugged, trying and failing to act nonchalant as a smirk tugged at her lips. "I donno, you seem to have been in a really good mood lately."

"Then why the this?" I asked, gesturing around us.

Bunny smirked. "We went to your house on Saturday. Your mom said you'd gone out."

"Yeah," I said. "It's allowed."

"Who were you with?"

"Does it matter?" I crossed my arms over my chest, but couldn't stop the corner of my mouth from creeping up.

"AH-HA!" Tooth leapt up and pointed at me. "YOU WERE WITH ELSA!"

"Says who?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

"Don't play dumb with me, Frost. You just gave yourself away."

"You do realize I know other people besides you guys and Elsa, right?" I cocked an eyebrow.

"Astrid talked to us the other day..." Bunny trailed off, still smirking.

"I'm sure she talks to you most days," I replied coolly.

"She said you went with Elsa to the debutante ball."

"Yes, I did."

"Yeah?" Sandy raised his eyebrows. "So, are you guys going out yet?"

I half-smiled. "'Yet'?"

"Yeah, cuz we all know you will eventually," Tooth said.

I let out an amused sigh and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, okay, whatever. No, we're not going out. It was just lunch."

"Awwww," Tooth whined, sitting down again. "Why didn't you ask her out?"

"Don't you have more important things to discuss in a student council meeting?" I asked.

"Nope, school's getting out soon and we've pretty much covered everything we need to," Sandy replied.

"Answer the question, Frost," Bunny said.

I sighed. "That was my attempt. But we talked about it, and she didn't tell me she was ready to date again."

"Has she ever said she wasn't?" Sandy asked.

"Yeah, at Merida's house."

"Well, did she say she wasn't ready the other day?" Tooth questioned.

"She said she didn't know."

"And how are you feeling about all that?" Sandy asked.

I drew a circle on the desk with my finger. "I don't know. I like her. A lot. And I've been trying to work through some of my issues regarding the whole 'relationship' thing."

"How's that going?" Bunny asked.

I shrugged. "Okay, I guess. I mean, I think I've sort of realized why my parents separated. I think they just stopped trying. I talked to my mom about it a bit, and it sounds like that's what happened."

"You have had some issues with commitment," Tooth pointed out.

"Yeah, with people I didn't really like," I said, not looking at her. "I mean, I was committed to you. I liked you."

There was a moment of silence before she answered. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"Are you ready to commit to Elsa?" Bunny asked.

My finger stopped moving as I contemplated the question. "Yeah. I think I am."

"Then you should do something about it."

I raised my eyebrows. "Is that why you guys dragged me in here?"

"Yes!" Tooth said. "You've been happier in the last couple weeks than you've been in years, but you're too scared to do anything. So we decided we were going to make you."

"Wow, you guys are such great friends," I said sarcastically, smiling.

"Psh, we know."

Flynn picked up the phone after two rings. "Hey Frost!"

"Hey man, how's it going?"

"Good! Excited for school to be over soon. How are you?"

"Same here."

"Nice. So, what's up?"

"Um, I was wondering if you could help me with something."

"Depends on what it is."

I chuckled. "That's fair."

"So...what is it?"

"I need some inside information on the queen."

Flynn's POV

"Wait, what did she say?" I asked.

Merida smiled coyly. "She didn't say she didn't like him."

I smirked. "Well, in Elsa speak, that's code for she does."

"I think we'd already figured that one out," she said, laughing.

I sobered up. "So, do you think she's ready?"

"Honestly, yeah. She made it sound like she was waiting on him."

"And he's waiting on her."

She snorted. "Well that's a problem."

"Not if we do something about it."
