Elsa's POV

Thursday evening I got a text from Hiccup on our group chat inviting us all to a movie night/sleepover at his place Friday night. After clearing it with our parents, Anna and I texted back that we could go.

I was a little apprehensive about seeing Jack again. After the conversation we'd had at Merida's house that night, we agreed to keep our distance so we could get over our feelings. I had his number, but I hadn't talked to him all week.

Hiccup lived in Burgess, so we decided we'd all go together. Merida borrowed her mom's minivan so we only had to take one car.

Our house appeared to be the last stop, judging by the fact that Anna ran out of the house screaming "Shotgun!" and Flynn leaned out of the front passenger window and yelled "You're too late Winters!"

I heard Kristoff laugh and Rapunzel call "Annaaaa! Sit in the back with meeee!"

"Then who's going to sit next to me?" Kristoff pouted.

"I will," I replied, patting his head.

He smiled. "Yay!"

Anna and I put our bags in the trunk and then got in. We got to Hiccup's house about thirty minutes later. I saw Jack's Rolls Royce and one other car parked out front, and a fourth car pulled up about a minute after we did. Bunny, Sandy, and Tooth got out. We greeted each other and walked up to the front porch together to see Jack and Astrid already standing there. Hiccup answered the door not too long after.

"Hey, guys!" He held it open. "Come on in!"

We followed Jack and Astrid inside. "Are we going to the upstairs living room?" Astrid called back.

"Yes!" Hiccup replied.

"He has an upstairs living room?" I whispered to Astrid as we started up the staircase.

She laughed. "Yeah, it's like a den, but on the second floor. Really cool."

"Really comfy," Jack added. "Lots of couches. Lots of floor pillows."

"Ooh, I love pillows!" Anna exclaimed.

We stepped off the staircase into a big open space with a few doors and a little hallway leading off it. There were two big couches pushed up against the wall perpendicular to each other that were covered in blankets and throw pillows. Two big floor pillows and a few small ones were littered around the floor. There was a coffee table in the middle and a TV stand on the opposite wall.

As we walked in, a black cat jumped down from one of the couches, stretched, and meowed at us.

"Kitty!" Anna whisper-yelled.

I heard Hiccup chuckle and turned to see him walk in behind all of us. "Yeah, that's Toothless," he replied.

"Toothless?" I repeated as the cat yawned. "Looks like it has teeth."

He blushed slightly. "Uh, yeah. Inside joke with the fam. He very much has teeth."

"Can I pet him?" Anna asked, eagerly looking at Hiccup.

He smiled. "Of course. He's a little skittish with strangers though, so don't feel too bad if he doesn't take to you at first. But he's real sweet."

Anna knelt down and rubbed her fingers together, making kissy noises. Toothless just stared at her and then ran into another room.

"Aw." Anna stood, looking disappointed.

I put my arm around her. "It's okay, I still love you."

"Welp," Hiccup said, gesturing around the room with his arm. "You guys go ahead and get settled and choose something to watch. I'll go get snacks."
