Anna's POV

I was so excited for the event I could barely sleep Sunday night. I woke up thirty minutes before my alarm was set to go off and lay in bed until I couldn't stand it anymore and jumped up. I ran into my closet, trying to figure out what I should wear. Eventually I settled on a knee-length royal blue skirt and a black long-sleeved T-shirt with black flats. Then I sat down at my vanity and tied up my hair into a bun.

As soon as I'd finished I ran downstairs to the kitchen. My mom was just starting to make breakfast when I walked in. She looked up and laughed. "Anna! You're not usually up this early!"

I grinned self-consciously. "I couldn't sleep, too excited. Anything I can help with?"

"Sure." She listed off ingredients to get out for her, which I did. Then I ran back upstairs and turned my phone on. A few minutes after I did it started ringing. The name "Reindeer King ❤" flashed above a picture of my boyfriend kissing me on the cheek at an ice-skating rink.

I picked it up and swiped the green answer button. "GOOD MORNING!"

"Oh, wow," I heard him say. "Um, good morning to you too."

"Sorry, I'm just super excited! I couldn't sleep last night," I confessed with a giggle.

"So I guess that means you'll crash early tonight." He chuckled. "Don't apologize, I think it's cute. Anyway, I was just calling to make sure you're up and to ask where you wanted to meet this morning."

"How about in the student parking lot?" I suggested. "Then we can walk together to wherever we need to go."

"Sounds good. See you soon!"

"Bye!"

I hung up just as I heard my mom call from downstairs. "Anna! Elsa! Breakfast is ready!"

I ran back downstairs to see a big stack of chocolate chip pancakes sitting on the kitchen island and along with two plates that had bacon on one and scrambled eggs on the other. I quickly pulled up a stool and poured myself some orange juice as Elsa came into the kitchen, still dressed in her snowflake pajamas with her hair in a messy braid from the night before.

"I don't think you should wear that to the opening ceremony," I joked.

She laughed. "Yeah, I wasn't going to."

"Are you excited for the event today?" Our mother asked as she took the last pancake off the griddle.

Elsa nodded and swallowed the bite she'd been chewing. "Yeah, I'm really looking forward to meeting the king and queen from DreamWorks. It's nice that they've finally started doing this event again so we can meet people from other schools."

"Why'd they stop doing it in the first place?" I asked.

"It got too heated. Apparently people were taking the competition aspect way too seriously. I think a fight broke out the last year they held it, which is why it got canceled indefinitely."

"Oh, so that's why they spent so much time stressing that this was supposed to be 'friendly competition.'" I took a sip of my juice. "Makes sense now."

"You two might want to head out soon," our mother said, glancing at the clock. "Don't you have to be there early?"

Elsa nodded. "Yeah, I just need to get dressed." She took her last bite and then carried her dishes over to the sink. I did the same and followed her upstairs.

I brushed my teeth in the bathroom and then sat down at my vanity and applied some light makeup, including magenta eyeshadow and thin black winged eyeliner. I checked my phone and saw I had a text from my best friend Ariel: Break a leg today girlie! 💕

Thanks sis! 💙 I typed back and then threw my phone into my backpack. I walked into the hall at the same time as Elsa. She was wearing a form-fitting knee-length silvery blue dress with a crisp white cotton sweater and low-heeled silver slippers. Her long platinum hair was in a high ponytail, and she had on icy blue and white eyeshadow with winged eyeliner as well.

We just looked at each other and giggled. Normally neither one of us wear makeup, but I guess we had the same idea today.

We got into her car and drove to school. I spotted Kristoff as soon as we pulled in and waved to him.

"Hey Anna! Hi Elsa," he said as we got out of the car.

"Hey!" Elsa grabbed her purse and slung it over her shoulder. "Okay, you guys have fun, I have to head to the arena."

She walked off toward the back of the school while Kristoff and I went to our lockers to put our bags away and then walked to the front doors. As homecoming prince and princess, it was our job to greet the DreamWorks students when they arrived and take them to the arena.

"Just in time!" Mr. La Bouf said as we stepped up to the front doors. "You kids know what you're supposed to do now, don't you?"

"Yes, sir!" Kristoff said, nodding.

"Terrific! Well, I have to help Mr. Pacha with something in the foyer, but if you need me I'll be right inside! Have fun, and make us look good!"

"We will, don't worry!" I assured him as he went inside.

After we'd just been standing there chilling for about thirty minutes, I heard the sound of a bunch of motors and looked up to see a few cars and more charter buses than I cared to count turn the corner and pull into the parking lot outside the front of the school. Kristoff nudged me. "This is it."

We waited for all of the students and faculty to gather in front of the steps where we were standing. Finally, I cleared my throat and smiled brightly. "Hello everyone!" I said, trying to project so they would all be able to hear me. "Welcome to Disney Prep! I'm Anna Winters."

"And I'm Kristoff Bjorgman. Please follow us, we'll take you to the arena where the opening ceremony is taking place."

Kristoff held the door open for them as I turned and led them through the school.
