42. Asher's parents

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag ng makauwi kaming ligtas at walang nangyaring masama ang ni isa sa amin. We both sit on the living room and thinking what happen earlier. I'm still nervous and now, I want to talk to my cousin and tell him. We need to go back on our old house as soon as possible. But, I'm thinking about my son's upcoming birthday. I don't want to ruin his birthday. We stay silent and no one wants to speak. We were both in the deep thought. I sigh and thanking him for keeping us safe.

"What's on your mind, wife? Don't you mind to share it with me?" Asher asked me.

I look at him and smiled weakly. Humilig ako sa kaniya habang tulog na si celandine dahil sa pagod. Nakaunan Siya sa hita niya. Nasa magkabilang gilid kami at habang si Asher ay nasa aming gitna.

"I am thinking when will go back to our old house? But Celandine birthday is the most important. I don't want to ruin it." I close my eyes tightly.

He cares my hair. "So, what's your plan? Don't worry I'm still here beside you, no matter what." He said softly.

I nod at him. "Maybe, after celandine's birthday." I suggest.

I can feel his head nodding on me. I smiled. Dahil sa sunod sunod na pangyayari ay nawawala sa utak ko na kamustahin ang kaibigan ko. Sigurado akong galit na iyon sa akin. We want to live peacefully and live a normal living and not hiding just to protect ourselves.

"Don't you have a gift of our son?" Asher asked again.

"I'm still thinking, what gift can I give to him." I bite my lower lip.

"We can surprise him. We can grad his wish by meeting his real dad." Asher suggested.

I nod at him. "Alright, but I don't know how to contact that person." I said on the low voice.

We look at each other. Tumaas ang isang kilay Niya at binigyan ako ng mapagmalaking ngiti sa kaniyang labi. I rolled my eyes on him. Here we go again on his hambogis.

"What's the purpose of connection? We can asked someone to know his whereabouts." He said and wink at me.

"No need. Just leave it to me," I said and smiled at him.

He just nod and remain silent again. Until we heard a noice coming from outside. I look at Asher again and giving him a confused look. He just shrugged his shoulder and we waited who was that. Kumunot ang noo ko ng makakita ng lalaki at babaeng nasa edad na 40. Nagsalubong ang kilay ko ng makita si Lorna na nakangisi ng malawak pero matalim Ang matang ipinukol Niya sa akin. Meroon ring nasa edad na 40 ang lalaking kasama ni Lorna sa kaniyang tabi. Napatingin ako sa leeg ng anak ko at nakahinga ng maluwag ng makitang nakatago ang kaniyang kwentas.
