"Karabelo, calm down!" I yelled at my sister who was busy pacing around our sitting room. "Hey, you are starting to freak me out, sit the hell down!"
She threw me a sharp look, her dark eyes piercing into my soul.
I still couldn't believe I let the devil into the house, but I needed to hear her out after mother insisted that I give her a chance, because apparently, she was also a victim.
"Sit down? Sit down? You are telling me to sit down? I was possessed by a demon, for God's sake!" She bellowed, causing me to jump in my seat. "I'm sorry," she whispered apologetically.
"If you want me to believe your little ruse, you'd better keep yourself in check, because I'm having a difficult time believing that you are a victim," I said bluntly, and her eyes widened in shock.
Surely, she did not believe I was going to fall for her tricks after everything she did.
I was shocked when she passed through the barriers Bridgette created, it was as if she was cleared of all evil, but it was all too good to be true.
"Lesego!" My mother scolded.
I threw her a sweet smile. How convenient that Karabelo showed up the morning after my mother crept up on me. Something was up, and I'd be damned if for a second, I let them fool me.
"Be nice," she said with warning in her eyes.
I rolled my eyes before proceeding with what I was being told. "It's okay, Karabelo." She looked at me with wide eyes. "I understand why you did all those things, and I know how you feel right now."
"You do?" She asked in fake awe.
"Yes, it must be a twin thing." She cringed but covered it up with a quick smile. I pretended not to see it and continued with a sweet smile, "You know like when you drink the alcohol and get drunk."
We all laughed, but it was hollow.
My phone rang in my pocket, and I checked the caller ID.
I couldn't miss this call. "Sorry, I have to take this." I went to the kitchen before either one of them could say anything. "Tommy?" I answered in a hushed whisper.
"Hey, Les!" He said cheerfully. "I got what you asked for."
My ears perked up at the information, at least one good thing for the day. "Did you find him?" I asked.
"Yes, I tracked him down."
"Wow, that's great news!" I squalled and quickly covered my mouth when my mother and twin sister threw me a curious glance. "So, when can I meet him?"
"Actually..." he trailed off, and I could already see the red on his face.
I gritted my teeth. "Tommy, what did you do?"
"He should be there any minute from now," he said hastily.
"WHAT?" This time I didn't care that my two companions were looking at me, I met their eyes in panic. "And you are only telling me this now? Tommy, my mother and Karabelo are here!" I whispered.
As I said that, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" I said hastily and quickly hung up.
I ran to the front door and took deep breaths before pulling down the handle.
"Hi, I don't know if I'm at the right place, but I'm looking for–" His breath caught when he met my eyes.
"Vincent?" My mother said over my shoulder, her face pale.
Karabelo on the other hand looked like she was going to faint.
