Everything spiralled out of control so fast, I wish I could say I saw it coming, but that would be a lie.

I thought that since I had Lesego with me, and we both knew about the imposter, everything would go well, and we would work together to expose her.

But things got out of hand when Lesego found out about me and Abigail.

As if that was not enough, I made the mistake of sleeping with Karabelo after finding out that Lesego left.

I didn't know how to face her after that.

The worst thing that happened was when Karabelo told me that she was pregnant, and then she forced me to breakup with Lesego. Only to find out later that the baby she was carrying was not mine, but Ryan's.

I tried to break up with her, but she threatened to kill Lesego.

I had no other choice but to go away.

I decided to go back to the hotel but kept in touch with Abigail to find out what was happening.

Lesego still kept in touch with Tommy, but she hadn't called him in two days now.

I was worried, because that was the only way I got to find out how she was doing.

"I don't understand why you won't just go to her and tell her everything that happened," Tommy said.

"You know I can't, Karabelo is going to kill her," I said while lying on the bed, facing the ceiling. "Besides, Abigail said I should stay put, she'll take care of Karabelo, because apparently this is a spiritual thing."

"That Abigail was the one that got you into this mess to begin with."

I rolled my eyes probably for the hundredth time since the day started, Tommy could be annoying, but he was right.

If it was not for Abigail, I wouldn't have found out about Karabelo being an imposter, and I wouldn't have been caught up in a murder case.

We were the only two people communicating with Funeka in order to keep track of Karabelo, and the day she was killed, we asked her to locate Karabelo since we didn't know where she was trapped.

"You won't believe this," Tommy said.

I sat up quickly. "What?"

"There's a new detective in town, and she will be taking over all of Ryan's cases."

"Say what? Dammit, Tommy! Do you have any idea what this means?"

He frowned at me, clearly in the dark. "That Abigail's husband will lose his job?" He suggested.

Gosh! And I just had to be related to him.

"It means that Karabelo is more likely to be highly volatile. If someone new is poking into her business, she's bound to lose it."

"Oh!"

"Yes. I have to warn Abigail." I fished out for my phone.

"Shouldn't you warn your girlfriend instead?"

I should, but I can't. "Abigail is staying at Claudia's place, I'm sure they are communicating," I said dismissively. "Were you able to trace all of Lesego's phone activities lately?"

He scratched his neck awkwardly and chuckled. "She's been getting in touch with Sihle." I froze, a new sense of anger filling my lungs. "And she's meeting with him tomorrow."

"What?" I gritted.

He looked at me sheepishly. "I'll leave you to it." Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Are you expecting anyone?" He asked me.

"No, I haven't ordered anything today."

He scoffed. "You mean, I brought you food today." He went on and opened the door before staggering back as if he'd just seen a ghost.

"Dude, what's wrong with you? Who's at the door?" I climbed out of bed and went to the door. "Why are you–" I swallowed my words as soon as I saw who it was.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw him was throwing a punch in his face.

"Look, I know I'm the last person you want to see, and you probably wanna kill me, but this is important," he said.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't do exactly just that, Zack?"

"I'm afraid I don't have a good reason," he paused, " Karabelo has set a trap for Lesego, and if we don't stop it, she's going to kill her."

I pulled him into the room by his collar. "What the hell are you talking about?" I spat.

"The meeting with Sihle is a ploy to get Lesego away from the house, they are going to kill her."

I growled and pushed him away, I could feel my heart pulsing in anger, and I wanted to do was to punch at something. "Ah!" I screamed.

"Cousin, you need to calm down," Tommy urged. I could only imagine what I looked like in his eyes right now.

"Calm down? You want me to calm down?" I laughed hollowly. "Just when will all this be over?" I yelled.

What Zack said next not only made me want to punch him through the wall, but it made my blood run cold. "When one of them dies, and if you don't pull yourself together, that person might end up being Lesego."
